How to play All outta Bubblegum on Gamer's Plane

Welcome to this game of "All Outta Bubblegum!"

If you know the game and the Gamer's Plane web site, go right to the "Who Are You and Whaddaya Want?" thread, post about your character, and get started in the game thread.

If you don't know the game, here's a rundown:
You start with 8 bubblegum. As you describe what your character is doing, the GM (that's me) will prompt you to roll "mundane" or "kick-ass;" in both cases, you roll a d10. If it's a mundane roll, you succeed if the number is equal to or less than the amount of bubblegum you have. If it's a kick-ass roll, you succeed if the number if greater than the amount of bubblegum you have. If you fail a roll, the GM will describe what happens, AND you lose one bubblegum. While you still have bubblegum, you can choose to spend one bubblegum to automatically succeed at a task without rolling.

There is no way to regain bubblegum (especially in 1870s US, 40+ years before bubblegum was invented).

If you are new to Gamer's Plane:
1) Introduce yourself with a post to the Introductions thread.
2) Click on "Characters" in the top navigation bar. On the resulting page, scroll down to the "New Character" section. Under "Label," enter your character's name, and possibly something to indicate which game the character is for, such as "Train Busters: Persimmon Flagella." For "System," scroll down all the way to the bottom and select "Custom." The type should be "PC." Then click the "Create" button.
3) There are two fields on the resulting page: Character Name and Character Sheet. For Character Sheet, write down a description of who you are, why you're on the train, and what you want. It doesn't have to be long; one sentence will do. Click "save." Note: you can also post a picture of your character, if you have or know of a picture that works well.
4) Go to the page for this game. You can find it under the "Games" link under "Games I'm Playing," or you can go direct to the Train Busters game page. Find "Submit a character" on the page; use the pull-down to select the character you've just created and click "Submit." I'll approve your character.
4) Go to the Who are you and whaddaya want? thread and post a message. You'll notice "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the page, and next to "Post as," a pull-down that says "Player" or your character's name. Select your character's name, and then type in what you want others to know about your character.
5) Finally, go to the Train Busters game thread, select "Post as" your character, and describe what your character is doing. Finish by clicking "Post" to submit your turn.

Note about rolls: When you are called on to roll a die, or decide that you want to try something and need to roll a die, click "Advanced" instead of "Post." You'll need to specify that you are posting as your character again, and there will be a new section called "Rolls and Decks." Click the "Add" button next to "Add a new roll: Basic." Under "Reason," type "Mundane" or "Kick-ass," whichever applies. Then, under roll, type "1d10" and select "Hide Nothing" under "Visibility." Then, if you've finished describing what you're trying to do, click "Post." You must always describe what you intend to do; you cannot roll first and then describe what you meant to do with the roll afterward. The GM always describes the outcomes of rolls.

Hm. At the moment, step four - submitting the character to the game - appears to be broken. So just copy what you've written about your character to the "Who are you and whaddaya want?" thread.

Note: character submits are working again as I described in the original post.

You do not have permission to post in this thread.
