The days meld together and the passage of time becomes a blur, and still the boat glides through the waters. It was midmorning on yet another day when Jeremiah spotted a shadow on the horizon. As the boat approached, the shadow resolved into a number of ships tilted at a myriad of angles, poking up through a large landmass that stretched for miles in either direction. The green island seemed to undulate with the waves, and reminded everyone of the living mass of seaweed they had so narrowly escaped. But seagulls flew safely over this island, crabs scuttled across the shore, and small fish swam in the shallows.

The boat cut a straight channel toward a ship whose stern protruded from the island - the bow buried under a hill of vegetation. At the last second, your vessel turned and drew up alongside it, driving itself up onto the green shore where it shuddered to a stop. As you take in your surroundings, countless boats, skiffs, ships, and schooners of all shapes and sizes dot the landscape, filling your vision.

Stepping from the boat, the earth gives way slightly and water fills the impression. Despite your feet getting wet, the island seems to support your weight, and the sponge-like surface expands to remove the evidence of your passing.

OOC: The red X indicates where on the map you landed. As you explore, I'll expand the map to include your discoveries.

Blackstar walks around aimlessly, entertained by the spongy earth. "What now?"

OOC: Are these "countless boats, skiffs, ships, and schooners of all shapes and sizes" on the island or out at sea?

OOC: The boats and such are wrecks that are protruding from the land at a variety of angles. Some are upright, but most are tilting or are on their sides. From this distance, they look pretty barren.

Stepping off of the small boat Nyíl take a moment to stretch and take a gander at her surroundings. Answering Blackstar's query as she lighting starts jumping on the spongy ground, "Maybe we should check out one of these wrecks. Don't look like much, but I suppose someone could be living in them."

"Way ahead of you!" said the gnome, as he half-hopped out into the nearest wrecks. OOC: Do I need to roll anything at this point?

As you clamber aboard the nearest wreck, you are struck by how sodden everything is. The wood is soft under your hands and feet, the decayed sails are damp overhead, and what little tack is lying around is moldy. Meandering from fore to aft, there is nothing of use to be found.

The height of the deck provides a better vantage point of the island. You aren't able to see the far side, but you do make out the coastline curving away haphazardly to either side. The number of ships seem to dwindle the further from shore you look, and in the distance to the southwest, there appears to be a large, grey patch marring the green of the island.

Entering the hold, you find the chests, casks, and crates have been broken open and lie empty in the strands of light that fall through the cracks in the deck.

OOC: No need for rolls at this point

OOC: Sorry for the delay.

Looking at the place with disgust, he speaks out loud, mostly to himself, "Maybe we ought to torch the place, just in case something weird shows up. Aside from Blackstar, that is."

As he leaves the wreck, he calls out to the others. "I saw a grey patch to the southwest of here, will be heading out there. You guys coming?"
