Ironholme is a city built after a long war of attrition between the guilds. Each guild wanted Skarvania for it's rich resources, a meeting between the guilds occurred and agreed that the land will be split into Guild territories. This unity of guilds was dubbed The Crucible and they oversee the laws of the land, logistics and quotas on the manufacture of goods produced.
Overtime Ironholme has devolved into a city of backstabbing deals and corruption, people now hire third party representives (adventurers) to make sure some deals run smoothly. The land surrounding he city, once a verdant forest, now turned into a polluted wasteland home to mutated fauna and flora.

These are the events that happened before the present time.
The Guild Wars
The Warforged
The Truce
The Treaty of Trade
The Allied Territories of Skarvania
The Building of Ironholme
The Awakening of the Warforged
The Crucible
The Lord of Blades
The Battle of Blades

The Guilds are the organisations that produce all sorts of items and equipments to other kingdoms and lands, their rivalry turned to warfare.
The Crucible.
The Artificers:
This guild believes that magic alone will help society develop. Golems created to patrol the streets, wands for self defence against would-be assailants.
The Sons of the Forge:
They have a disdain for magic and believe that weapons do not require enchanting, good old fashioned iron and steel is good enough to protect a kingdom.
The Order of Steam and Gears:
Inventors of gadgets and gizmos they alone brought Steam and clockwork technology to the world. Tanks, pepper box pistols and disposable automatons gives kingdoms what they need to win wars.
The Verdant Crafters:
Mainly a sect of Druids who find that nature can provide what technology and magic cannot, and find that the actions of the other guilds to be destructive to the land.

Intermediate Guilds
These guilds help the flow of society from commerce to agriculture.
The Vault Keepers:
Bankers (elaboration needed)
The Slayers:
They hunt and slay monsters (elaboration needed)
The Knights of Coin:
An army for hire when a King has run out of men to send to win his war.
The Promise Makers:
Contract and treaty makers (elaboration needed)

Minor Guilds
These are smaller organisations that aim for self serving goals such as The Lyrebirds, a school of Bards that are trained to mimic any sound.

Even after all the technological advancements in Ironholme some folk still use Swords and Bows while other attach upgrades like giving the sword magnetic or heating capabilities etc. Almost every one in the streets will carry a small knife to a wand with six charges of magic missle to a pepperbox pistol if they can afford them.
All equipment in the D&D 5th edition Player's Handbook are available to use.
I'll work on stats for Pistols and Rifles and explosives.

According to DM's guide:

Pistols:
250 GP, 1d10 piercing damage, 3lb, Range of 30/90 feet, Loading
These are the the pistols that are a common sight in Ironholm, If you can find intersesting early firearm, perferably late medieval/renaissance/victorian fire arms post a link.
Pepperbox
Hand cannon
Harmonica Pistol

Musket:
500g, 1d12 piercing damage, 10lb, Rage of 40/120 feet, Loading, two handed.

Loading a fire arm takes an action of a player's turn.

Wands:
Created and sold by The Artificers wands are used in the same manner of pistols. The cheapest and most common wand is a Wand of magical missile with six charges once all charges are spent it takes a day to fully regains its charges.

The Gods are still great influence in the world, The Dawn War Panteon is the major force of worship and are as listed.
There is an Allfaith temple but Erathis gets more publicity in the city of Ironholme.

Avandra, Chaotic Good Deity of Change and Luck.
Bahamut, Lawful Good Deity of Justice and Protection.
Corellon, Chaotic Good Deity of The Arts and Magic.
Erathis, Lawful Neutral Deity of Civilisation and Invention.
Ioun, Neutral Deity of Knowledge.
Kord, Chaotic Neutral Deity of Bravery and storms.
Melora, Neutral Deity of Wilderness and Sea.
Moradin, Lawful Good Deity of Creation.
Pelor, Neutral Good Deity of the Sun and Agriculture.
Raven Queen, Lawful Neutral Deity of Death.
Sehanine Chaotic Good Deity of the Moon.

There are minor deities that are also worshipped but not as popular as the core Dawn War Pantheon.

OK, since others are playing a warrior and caster, I will play a cleric. This is what I'm thinking: Lena Falor, cleric of knowledge.
A devotee of Ioun, God of Knowledge, Lena does not have a parish of her own. Instead, she has applied to become and been accepted as an Initiate Acquirer for the Consortium of the Unseen. The Consortium is a collective of allied sages, investigators, inventors, students of the arcane, and scientists whose passion is knowledge and discovery. They are generally divided into two groups: Acquisition and Processing. Consortium members typically start out in Acquisitions, working in the field to investigate reports, observe interesting developments, collect data, and gather samples. Eventually, if they're successful enough, they are allowed to work in a laboratory with others, processing those data that acquirers bring to them. Head researchers are put in charge of their own labs or libraries, guiding the direction of research and publishing works on various studies they've conducted.

As an initiate, Lena has been sent to Ironholme to assess whether there is enough potential for research to start a new laboratory in the region, and also to collect data on anything noteworthy. It's very open-ended, but as she sends reports, she'll get more specific directions. Historically, the Consortium has been dismissive of Ironholme. Past investigations by Acquirers have turned up nothing of scientific interest, as engineering doesn't particularly draw the Consortium: it's all stuff built on known principles, and thus, not important. The past investigators may have been lazy or just unlucky in their observations, but the result is that the Consortium does not have a presence in Ironholme. Lena comes from outside the area.

I'll work on her home region next.
