Aria Vosz - Mirialian Ataru Striker

Background

Aria was born one of twins. Her brother, Rhas, and her shared many traits - the most noteworthy was curiosity and determination. Their parents died when they were young, and the two were raised by a tight network of family, friends and devoted peers. They were always of one mind, and often that mind compelled them to rebel against the wishes and recommendations of even their most trusted friends. Others, if asked by strangers, would describe them as making the most out of life - if confiding in friends, as thrill seekers. Trouble and mischief didn't follow them as much as they cultivated it.

When the opportunity to leave their home on Milaria and see the greater galaxy presented itself, they didn't hesitate to stow away on a trade ship with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the hundred credits in their pockets. Of course, it wasn't actually the cargo bay of a trade ship that they had hidden in. It was the cargo bay of a separatist transport that had masqueraded as a trader to avoid raising suspicion while the crew restocked and refueled. The crew had left the bay open and unattended, but not unwatched. Once in deep space Aria and Rhas were swiftly discovered and compelled to aid the separatists in their mission.

When the ship landed at its destination - a quiet moon on the fringe of a major trade route - Rhas and Aria were instructed to lure away the jedi who was leading the clone troopers stationed there. They did as instructed. The jedi was lured out, but the particular jedi was familiar with the Mirialian species and inferred from Aria and Rhas's disposition the nature of their distress. This afforded the jedi foresight of the ambush, and the separatist guerrilla attack was easily repelled.

Rhas quickly became friends with the clone troopers during the weeks that they remained at the outpost - it turned out he had no small amount of innate talent with weaponry and stealth. The jedi, in his time with her, realized that Aria was force sensitive. Rhas saw this as an opportunity to protect his sister. He told her it was time they grew up and advanced the Mirialian species and earned their tattoos. Rhas encouraged Aira to go with the jedi to Coruscant for training. He, himself, would remain with the clone troopers and aid the war effort in the best way he could. He assured her they would be together again. They parted ways.

Aria was a keen pupil. Her natural agility, quick mind and driven nature made her a natural fit for the Ataru form. It fit her personality well, and as such she attended very little to lessons on negotiations and politics. It was often to the dismay of the masters and her instructors, who saw in her the potential to be a great jedi knight if only she would apply herself. Fortunately, from Aria's perspective, the needs of the war meant that the masters could not be too selective when assessing the adequacy and readiness of the students who showed combat and tactical aptitude. As such, she was sent to the crystal caves to be tested by the force.

The evening before departure, Aria had a vision. In her vision she saw her brother, Rhas, setting up an ambush on some jungle covered planet. In his company were three clone troopers. Their quarry passed below them, Rhas gave the signal and the clones prepared to spring the trap. Then, a command was issued to the clones from a higher authority than Rhas. Aria saw their intentions and witnessed, in painfully slow motion, as the clone troopers pointed their blasters at her brother and opened fire. She woke, startled and in a cold sweat. Unsure if it was a nightmare or a genuine vision.

It was with the concern for her brother at the forefront of her mind that she boarded the ship and departed for Ilum.

Connections
Aria and Jado have, since the start of Aria's training, have been friendly rivals in the combat ring. Their fighting styles and approach to tactics are very different, but they've found each other to be a pleasantly fair match up. Other trainees have come to look forward to their matches, as they are often intense and entertaining exchanges. They have also shared many conversations as the two, perhaps indicated by their distinct fighting styles, also have very different outlooks on the force.
