Group Initiative Modifier

As discussed in Episode 1, I prefer to do a group Initiative roll in order to see which "team" goes first (Top of the Round) during combat.

I know that this technique is not perfect. It may hinder some characters who are exceptionally reactive, causing them to pull down to an average. It also puts the roll in my control rather than yours; I know that that is not ideal.

However, I think its strengths outweigh its weaknesses. Main strength of course is that it is faster for game play and provides some simplicity. With PBP, unfortunately maybe, we have to consider those factors pretty heavily. This way we can kick things off quickly and then get to it on individual attacks on a first-come first-serve system instead of waiting each day each round for each guy to line up in sequence. That would just be too much delay.

So thanks for tolerating this flawed system. We are going with it from here on out.

I would like everyone to post their Initiative Modifier, incorporating all Abilities, Feats, etc. I will look to get a compilation, talk through the math, and get the full team modifier established so that we all know what we will be dealing with.

Also, if things change over time with Ability Score increases, new Feats, etc. then this will be the place where you guys can keep me informed.
