HIB Dr. Who

The Humble Indie Bundle is having a Doctor Who bundle.

If you know HIB, it's the usual. Pay what you want. It goes to charity (BBC children in need this time around). And the more you pay, the more you get.

Have you ran/played Dr Who? How does that go? Very different roles and abilities between companions and Doctors, how is that treated?

Nope. Never played. You'll have to ask someone else, I'm afraid...

You could just lie to me. How would I know?

I grabbed it Qralloq, and from little I read, you can either play as the Doctor and an existing or entirely new companion(s) or you can play as a team in Torchwood or a part of UNIT. Or something else entirely.

I haven't played it, but it reminds me of the Cinematic Unisystem (as used in the Buffy & Angel RPGs) that I've played a lot. In the CU the ordinary mortals had more Drama Points so while they have less skills and attributes they can do more with luck and nudge the narrative in their favor.

Seems the same is true in Dr. Who where the companions have more Story Points.

I've played Buffy and was wondering if the power disparity would be dealt with similarily. Thanks.
