Here's what's actually happening in our game!
Session 1
Intro: The party starts out already on the road. Lord Kai Davo has tasked Shin, Kaizo, and Risa with traveling to South Mountain to check up on their Uncle Nobu. Nobu is a priest and the youngest brother of Lord Kai Davo. He withdrew to a hermitage on South Mountain a year or two ago to study and meditate on the meaning of artifacts that the Davo clan uncovered. The clan supports his studies by sending an attendant with a sack of rice once every few months. 2 weeks ago an attendant was sent out and never returned.
Scene 1
The party starts out at the foot of South Mountain. A trail leads on up the mountainside. A little ways up, at the first landing, there is a bridge to a side outcropping with a 'mailbox' that the monks can lower down the cliffside on a rope, to leave messages for those at the foot of the mountain (and vice versa).
Obstacle: The rope bridge across the 30 foot gap to the mailbox's outcropping has fallen down. The mailbox has a red flag on it, indicating that the monk atop the mountain has sent a message down.
-The players use mage hand and some fiddling to affix a rope across the chasm, and one of them hand-over-hands himself across. Inside the mailbox they find a note from Nobu, and a water-skin that has the emanations of a faint conjuration aura about it.
