Anrin Goodbody

1. Halfling (Lightfoot ie Hairfoot in Greyhawk)

Str 15
Dex 15
Con 10
Int 10
Wis 12
Cha 18

Class: Paladin (aiming towards Oath of the Ancients) trained in the Kingdom of Celene.
Background: Folk Hero
Deity: Ehlonna
Alignment:CG
Coat of Arms: Vert with unicorn rampant argent langued gules. (My avatar)

Personality traits

1. If someone is in trouble, I'm always ready to lend help.
2. I'm confident in my own abilities, and do what I can to inspire confidence in others.

Ideal: Nothing and no one can steer me away from my higher calling.

Bond: My tools are the symbol of my past life, and I carry them with me so I will never forget my roots.

Flaw: The people who knew me when I was young know my shameful secret, so I can never go home again.

Anrin always idolized elves. When he heard that the mysterious fey Kingdom of Celene was recruiting mercenaries to protect their forests from the goblins and orcs of Pomarj, he didn't hesitate. Physically fit and charming, he was not only effective in battle but also very popular with troops and the common folk alike. Soon the bards of the forest all sung the praises of the brave and handsome half man. So it was impossible for the esteemed Brotherhood of the Unicorn (an otherwise elven-only group of Green Knights based in Celene) to turn down his petition to join their ranks. That is not to say that all in the Brotherhood welcome Anrin's membership. Apart from racial prejudice, many see it as highly inadvisable to have someone with such a popular following being part of such a noble organisation. So Anrin's first mission as a newly-sworn Gallant* - to investigate and if possible deal with the purported dangers around the village of Hommlet, not far from the northern borders of Celene - is one from which many in the Brotherhood hope Anrin never returns...

*AD&D nomenclature!

If we don't have a caster yet, I could also be a Warlock or Sorcerer
Play what you want of course, we also dont have a healer yet. But if harlandski goes paladin, having a bard gives us a pretty good safety net.

Ouch! Nice rolls from everyone. Once you have your character done, find me an image for use in visuals please

You can edit your post to add more rolls (as many as you want)
Jul 7, 2015 11:37 am
Use your last 6 there, or roll again with labels if you prefer (as you rolled 7 by accident)
Jul 7, 2015 11:38 am
Oops, one too many rolls, dropping the last one. Arranged stats to match as close to my first set of rolls.
( 5, 2, 6, 6 ) = 19 = 17 WIS
( 3, 2, 6, 2 ) = 13 = 11 CON
( 6, 5, 3, 5 ) = 19 = 16 CHA
( 4, 5, 2, 2 ) = 13 = 11 +1 INT
( 2, 1, 2, 2 ) = 7 = 6 + 1 DEX
( 2, 2, 5, 3 ) = 12 = 10 STR
Jul 7, 2015 11:39 am
Can you tell this is my first time on gamersplane?
Jul 7, 2015 11:43 am
Haha...no problem, it's great once you get used to it. We are not arranging stats - take them in order (str dex con int wis cha) like in 1e, for this game
Jul 7, 2015 11:45 am
Ah, okay, rolling again then...

Rolls

STR - (4d6)

(2326) = 13

DEX - (4d6)

(4444) = 16

CON - (4d6)

(3335) = 14

INT - (4d6)

(5512) = 13

WIS - (4d6)

(1133) = 8

CHA - (4d6)

(1644) = 15

Jul 7, 2015 11:49 am
Dang, that's a crappy WIS for a cleric. I was mostly done with my character, so I'm sticking with it!
Final stats:
STR 11
DEX 12
CON 11
INT 13
WIS 8
CHA 14
Jul 7, 2015 11:55 am
Nice, remember it's only L1 so you could always reskin a Paladin. But I'm all for playing hilariously bad stats when that's how the dice roll
Jul 7, 2015 11:56 am
Me too. This will be interesting. Went with Knowledge domain, background sage. So he's a smart, crappy cleric.
Jul 7, 2015 12:06 pm
Haha, love it. That's the third knowledge cleric in a row in my games! Don't forget personality trait x2/ideal/bond/flaw if you want the opportunity for inspiration (i can also link story hooks related to your character)
Jul 7, 2015 12:50 pm
I was looking at playing a cleric. I was going to take Rogue 1st level for strong Trap capability then the rest as a light cleric, for healing and damage spells

I can look at something else if your keen to play a cleric though. I have high Dex and Wis, average everything else, so Monk, Rogue, Ranger, Ranged Fighter are all possibilities.
Jul 7, 2015 1:40 pm
Go for a cleric if you want. It could be funny, showing me up. Get out of the way, this is how it's done! Then maybe I'll multi class into something else too.
Jul 7, 2015 2:09 pm
Can anything be more survivable than an all-cleric team? (Yo - don't forget to pick a deity)
Jul 7, 2015 3:50 pm
I've still got some crunch to work out, but I'm pretty settled on my Halfling Paladin Folk Hero concept above. I've edited things into my older post, as that's where the rolls are.
