We use the d20 Cthulhu system. I'm running from the 2002 book, the one with the cover that looks like skin with the creepy face on it.

Start at 3rd level. I'll bump your hit die to a d8. And re-roll 1s.

For stats, roll 4d6 drop the lowest and re-roll 1s. Roll six times for your stats, then re-roll the lowest result.

Pick the Defense or Offense option as normal. We will use the Defense Bonus variant. But if you take Offense, the defense bonus is bumped up by one (so it starts at +1 and increases to +2 at level 5) (it gets the bonus feat as usual).

For skills, we'll use the Pathfinder system. You still get 8 skill points plus Int mod as usual, but no multiplying at first level. No half ranks for cross class. Your max ranks in any skill is your level. Any skill you're trained in and you put ranks in gets a +3. We will try to streamline the skill list like they do in Pathfinder (using Stealth, Perception, and so on). As to a few specific skills that need to be titled properly to fit the era, we can adjust those as needed. As usual, you cannot take Cthulhu Mythos during character gen.

Sanity is as usual.

Feats are as usual. But we'll use the Pathfinder version of Dodge (constant +1, don't have to call it on a specific target) and a modified Toughness (+3 HP at level 1 and +1 HP per level thereafter). If there's a feat in Pathfinder or another system that you feel would be useful, we can talk about it and translate it to Cthulhu terms if needed.
