Dead Planet Part One

Cryo-stasis might be starting to get to me in my old age...I hope I don't have hibernation sickness...

Corporal Sax does his best to shake off the fuzzy edges left on him after waking up abruptly from cryo-stasis. He registers the crew of The Butterfield:

The pilot's cute, though maybe a bit too much of a manic pixie space dream girl for his liking, but you never know.
The captain's made of stern stuff and seems level-headed. He seems up to the task. I can follow his lead.
A gynoid - jeez, great! Those things are never NOT creepy!
And it's shadow, Hernandez, seems like he might be a company stooge - I'll need to keep that in mind.

Knifesedgegames says:
"Corporal, are you willing to go babysit the team? You’re not an employee under my command, but they’d sure appreciate your level head in a potentially dangerous situation."
Sax must really be feeling the affects of cryo-stasis, as he agrees to the away mission without a word edgewise, barely registering his affirmation with Captain Harris.
_______

As the team preps to leave the ship, Sax tosses his electronic toolkit to Akira. He might be a corporate stooge, but there's no reason to not have him on Sax's side.

Sax arrives last, his body cam and short rage comms taking a few extra minutes to sync with The Butterfield's communication set-up. He takes the time to make a much needed adjustment to his prosthetic left arm. Once confident that Captain Harris can see and hear his feed, Sax disembarks, traveling over to the derelict ship. He arrives just in time to hear the skittering sound in the walls.

Rolls

Fear (Save 30) - (2d100)

(2145) = 66

Well. Let's get on with it. The less time I spend on this ship, the better. Carter grumbles, waiting for someone to lead the way.
Mar 6, 2019 7:06 pm
OOC:
Thanks , I'll take the first roll (I guess you hit 2d100 by mistake) so you passed
Mar 6, 2019 7:15 pm
OOC:
I thought that with TURING present we had to roll twice and take the worse of the two rolls.

I'm posting a bit late, fighting off a bad flu for the past days. Sorry if I held anything up. I feel a lot better now so I hope I can resume posting :). Might be a bit too far to write something IC but I'll roll for the spookyness.
Also, for the record Akira acknowledges Sachs lendig him the kit, thank you very much.
Fear save = 25 ( hooo boy)
OOC:
Edit: guess I didnt make the save
..
"Guys..Guys! shush! What the crink was that? "

OOC:
Damn, you're right, forgot that. So in that case, failed :(
Mar 6, 2019 9:20 pm
OOC:
OK everyone except TURING should now be on 3 Stress. The ladder leading to the upper decks is straight ahead. Who's taking lead?
Mar 6, 2019 9:23 pm
OOC:
Though, to clarify, it's kinda redundant to roll twice if we fail the first time, right? Or does the amount of how much we failed has any effect on anything?
"Corporal. Took your time!" Says Alicia, raising one of her eyebrows as she shoots the Doctor a look. "And just in time. We're going to Command. You should lead the way, being the only with military training. Yeah?"

OOC:
Well, if you fail with a crit (so over your Save AND roll a double - so 66,77,88 etc) the result is an auto panic test, so with a bot around, you have double the chances of doing that.

The sudden sound of something moving on this derelict ship caused the hairs on the back of his neck to raise, and for his right hand to instinctively move toward the grip of the sub-machine gun slung across his chest. He lightly holds the stock of the weapon, trying to play off any worry he is displaying.

Man, I've got the jitters. Cryo-stasis must have really messed me up this time...

Sax gives a sheepish smile in response to Alicia's light chastisement. The ladder leading to the upper decks is straight ahead of him and the group. Sax states firmly, "I'll take point. Follow me up", as he begins to ascend the ladder.

Sax leads the way, climbing the cold steel bars of the ladder up to the mid-deck. Corridors run off to the left and right with a couple of doorways in sight. The ladder continues up to the top deck.

Sax slows his climb as he arrives at the mid-deck, giving the area a quick sweep before calling down, "Clear," and continuing up the ladder to the upper deck.

Along the way up, Sax performs a mic check with the captain. "Harris, do you copy? Do you have visual on my body cam?"

TURING inspects the command center, looking for a computer terminal with which she can connect. She’ll look for anything with a compatible data port. She wants to get an assessment of the ship’s systems and condition.
OOC:
I imagine, when possible, TURING interfaces directly with computer systems in order to facilitate faster and more efficient interactions. If not, she interfaces manually.

No success.

A little pre-emptive, TURING, we're not quite there yet
Mar 7, 2019 8:05 am
"Loud and clear, Corporal. Any signs of life?"
Mar 7, 2019 8:41 pm
"All clear, except for a rat that scared the bejesus out of us! Moving to command center now," Sax replies as he continues to the upper deck via the ladder.

Sax continues up the ladder and the others follow. As you all reach the top and climb through the hatch, you find yourselves in another corridor. TURING suddenly keels over, lying on her back, unmoving.

Trevor kneels over Turing and calls out to Akira

Hernandez your bot in malfunctioning!
Mar 8, 2019 12:09 am
Sax clears the upper deck and motions for crew to join him. When the gynoid collapses suddenly, Sax immediately snaps into action, his hands gripping the sub-machine gun strapped to his chest, sweeping the area looking for an attack.

Satisfied that Turing's collapse wasn't due to an unseen attack, Sax stands down. He nervously flexes his prosthetic left arm, clenching and unclenching the left had unconsciously due to nerves.

Akira tries to keep an air of casualness as he saunters over to the collapsed gynoid.
Alright alright, stand back, let me take a look..
OOC:
I suppose intellect roll is needed here? I also have Sachs' electronics kit for a +10%, if that counts for anything.
Intelligence = 41
