Chapter IIa: Absolute Disaster

"What's going on here? What's the trouble?"

She's hoping that the person can speak for a little bit before the gas knocks them all out cold. She also supposes that if she goes down, that means that Cass' crew can help her out.

What an awful plan, she thinks to herself.

"We have beamed over some survivors from the Consortium ship. They are in bad condition and require a blood transfusion. However, none of us are a match. We will need to test your blood as well as some other things to determine whether you would be a match for them. Please follow us to our medical station!" The pale man gestures towards the door of the cargo hold, signalling you to go first.
OOC:
You don't need to roll to know that he is lying

She will go to pull out her "pen" from her pocket as she walks past one of them, and accidentally drop the item.

She bends over to pick it up, hoping to notice whether or not the man is catching a glimpse of her lithe and supple figure.
OOC:
Not sure if seduction is more of a lasers thing or a feelings thing, but she'll use it, and I'll let you decide how it plays out. Can I say that she is prepared and expert, though?

Seduction - (3d6)

(611) = 8

Mar 7, 2019 8:20 pm
OOC:
Seduction would be Feelings, I'd say. It's up to you whether you're an expert in it. I don't know if you would necessarily be prepared but it doesn't change anything in this situation anyway so it's not important.
The man definitely has his eyes on you as you bend over to pick your pen up but his expression is very neutral so you can't tell what he is thinking about what he's seeing.
Mar 7, 2019 9:11 pm
"Oh my, I seemed to drop my pen." As she picks it up, she looks down the hall to see ahead and think about what to do next.
OOC:
What does Kendall see? Any doors, branches of the hallway, relative size of the corridor, etc?
Mar 7, 2019 9:15 pm
The corridor is very small, you will have to walk single file. Theres some doors going off from it to the sides but nothing that catches your attention.
However, you're slowly starting to feel a bit dizzy. The chemical smell in the air got much stronger than before and it's making it slightly hard to breathe
Mar 7, 2019 10:09 pm
Marbo will take one final look at the device, ensuring that it is installed firmly and the gas is flowing properly, and then will look around space before delashing from the ship.
OOC:
Im assuming the other two hull teams are on the other two ships? can i see them from here? if so, i need to check on the status of their devices. Marbo needs to know that theyre working as intended.
Mar 7, 2019 10:18 pm
OOC:
Pretty sure that only one ship has shown up to the Antarctica's distress signal - at least, as far as the Potential knows.
Mar 7, 2019 10:21 pm
OOC:
Also, I established a communicator code for the hull teams for rudimentary communication with the Potential - two quick bursts of static means "mission accomplished," three quick bursts means "something went wrong." Both codes result in you being beamed back immediately.
Mar 7, 2019 10:30 pm
OOC:
Marbo was hoping the other pirates were nearby getting their hulls sabotaged, because i really wanted to ride the fire extinguisher from where i am to the next ship. Oh well haha
Marbo looks to his squadmate, they give eachother a quick nod, and he doubletaps his communicator.
Mar 7, 2019 10:47 pm
Kendall will hold her breath as she walks, hoping to not ingest the chemical for a few seconds, after which, once she can stand it anymore (maybe a minute or two), she will turn around to look at those with the guns. She wants to see if they are woozy.

Regardless of their state, at that point she will look forward, put the mask on, and take a deep breath.
Mar 8, 2019 4:52 am
Marbo, almost immediately, you and Lt. Kun find yourselves back on the Potential in the transporter room where Moira and all the other teams are waiting. "Did you do it?", one strike team member asks.
Kendall, you hold your breath for a few seconds and turn around. The two pirates look like they've noticed something is wrong but they don't quite know what exactly it is. They don't seem like they're about to pass out yet.
You turn back around and put the gas mask on. Almost immediately, your head clears up a bit.
"What are you doing there?", the man who spoke to you earlier asks.
Mar 8, 2019 5:22 am
Kendall takes the mask off (facing forward, away from the guys with the guns), and says, "Just walking, but I don’t know which door I should take."

She puts the mask back on with one hand, holding her "pen" in the other (clicking the top of her pen repeatedly), and she keeps walking but very slowly.

"It's the second door to the right now.", the man replies. "What do you have there?"
He walks a bit faster to catch up to you and then tightly grips your shoulder.
Mar 8, 2019 5:51 am
Finally, the asshole is close enough.

Kendall pounces, sticking the pen into the guys’ neck, uses his body as a human shield, points the gun at the other guy and fires.

Rolls

Crazy spy movie action scene (lasers) - (3d6)

(331) = 7

Mar 8, 2019 5:55 am
OOC:
Three successes, not bad
The two men don't manage to react even in the slightest. The guy with the pen in his neck is dead instantly, the other one is on the floor, unconscious, since the phaser that the first guy was holding was apparently set to stun.
Mar 8, 2019 9:00 am
Kendall grabs both guns, secures the mask to her face, and searches the men for anything of import: keys, communicators, etc.

She also takes her "pen" back, cleans it on the guy’s shirt, and stashes it in her pocket.

She will head back to the hangar bay, hop into her ship, and send the datapad back to the Potential with the message: "Your move, Cass." (There is a bit of sass in the way she said "Cass").

She said breath deep with her mask on, just in case something happens to the air supply in the ship. In space, you never know what will turn up, she thinks to herself.
Mar 8, 2019 12:00 pm
One of the men has a spacefleet communicator in his pocket. They don't have any keys or anything else of importance with them.
You don't get interrupted while searching them or going back to your ship. After sending the datapad you wait.
Cass, a datapad materializes on the bridge of the Potential. The message from Kendall simply says "Your move, Cass"
According to Dr. Zlam's calculations, the pirate crew should be knocked out by now

bowlofspinach says:

Moira is itching to get to work, but there's only one ship in the system so far, and this new civilian could have messed things up. When she sees Marbo, she breathes a sigh of relief. She nods at the team.
Mar 8, 2019 2:19 pm
Cass smiles broadly at the message from Kendall and opens the comm to the transporter room. "Strike team one, you are cleared for deployment. You'll beam directly to the bridge. And keep your eyes peeled - we don't know if that gas fully disables all species.

"Transport strike team one now."
