Cass, you receive a reply over comm: "This is Lt. Comm Waters, head of security USS Antarctica and leader of Strike Team 2. Commander, since only one team is needed for this mission and team 1 has lost their leader, wouldn't it make more sense for my unit to beam over instead?"
Mar 8, 2019 3:11 pm
If the question was coming from a member of the Potential crew, Cass would be concerned that this was an attempt to undermine her authority out of misplaced loyalty to Darcy Jr.

She thinks it through quickly. Everything seems to have gone off without a hitch, so they could probably use the strike team that was down one member and save the full teams for if and when more pirates showed up. Then again, there could still be surprises waiting for them on the ship already there. They hadn't taken control of it yet.

But no. She'd already deprived team one of their leader. To not send them now would tell them she didn't think they could hack it. And she did.

"Negative, Mr. Waters. Strike team one is up, your team is on deck. And team one, there's a civilian mercenary and her ship aboard the Star Flare. She's wearing a respirator mask, and she's with us."
Mar 8, 2019 3:17 pm
Pretty much simultaneously, you receive two replies. Waters voice says: "Acknowledged" and at the same time, Lt. Hortam says "Beaming over now, Commander."

Marbo, Moira, you see the transporters engage and beam over the away team that was originally led by Darcy.
Kendall, after a while of waiting in your ship, you hear movement outside of it. Eventually, you hear a loud knocking and a voice yells: "Open up, this is Spacefleet! We can read your life signs in there! We are not going to shoot you!"
Mar 8, 2019 4:24 pm
"Yes. Gas device installed. Pirates will sleep soon. No problems."

Marbo begins walking back to medbay. His mission complete for now, he finally feels like he deserves a proper sleep.

His usually tidy mannerisms fall to the wayside as he manages the smooth hallways of the potential, dropping pieces of equipment wherever they come off. After a few moments, anybody looking for him will most likely find him asleep in the hallway, half crawled out of the baggy space suit he was wearing.

After waiting a decent interval after strike team one transported to the Star Flare, Cass uses her comm badge. "Potential to Hortam. Report."
Mar 8, 2019 5:59 pm
Kendall opens the door to the vessel, mask secured to her face, with her hands in the air.

"Talk to Cass. I am part of your element."
Mar 8, 2019 7:03 pm
The man lowers his phaser. "Beam back to the Potential while we sweep this ship." Without waiting for a response, he turns away and hastily walks back to the entrance to the cargo bay. "Clear!", he shouts as he leaves through it into the hallway.

OOC:
Do I have time to try to get the doctor out of the hallway? And also claim my plasma torch and the fire extinguisher?
Mar 8, 2019 7:12 pm
Kendall has her onboard computer communicate with the pirate ship's (via hacking), and transports to the Potential's shuttle bay.

OOC:
Lav, you're not doing anything really at the moment, so I don't see why not
Cass, you receive information that Kendall has beamed her ship into the Potential's cargo hold.
You also receive a communication from Hortam: "Still sweeping the ship, Commander. So far we've discovered six unconscious people and one dead body - stab wound to the neck."

Kay, Moira gathers his things in one hand, throws Marbo-in-suit over her other shoulder fireman-style, and heads to his quarters. She cusses under her breath trying each of his four hands to open the door, but ultimately flops him on his own bed and asks the replicator to spray some ethanol. She's not even sure if it can do that, but it's worth a shot. On the way back, she picks up her torch and the fire extinguisher. Apparently he thought these were important. She might as well take them.

OOC:
I love the idea of Moira just dragging a passed out marbo through the halls and nobody even giving it a second look because its a regular occurence.
Mar 8, 2019 7:33 pm
OOC:
Me too haha. She can never remember which hand it is, either.

Huh, Cass thinks triumphantly, it WOULD have worked! She instructs whoever gave her this news to have someone escort Kendall to the bridge, since she's never navigated through the Potential.

"Understood. Let me know when the ship has been secured."

While she's waiting for that confirmation, Cass hits the comm again. "Cassano to Dr. Belka. How's Lt. Comm. Darcy doing?"

OOC:
Moira is definitely getting some strange looks carrying Marbo but nobody stops her.
I don't know if you would be able to have the replicator produce ethanol. On the Enterprise, they can't but it seems like alcohol is more prevalent in this world than in official Star Trek, so I don't know if it's different here.

OOC:
Yeah, after thinking about it some more, I think it would probably be possible to do

"Commander, this is Dr. Belka. No change in her condition. She is working on something on her computer. She appears angry but in my opinion this would fall under the responsibilities of a ship's counsellor, not a doctor."
Kendall, a spacefleet ensign greets you in the cargo hold and leads you to a turbo lift that'll take you to the bridge.

OOC:
Does the Potential have a ship's counselor? Also, what would it take to surveil Darcy's computer activities?
Mar 8, 2019 8:09 pm
OOC:
I feel like our replicators could produce like, the starfleet equivalent to toilet wine. it would probably taste like grape cordial mixed with rubbing alcohol. to get the good stuff like a Nemurlian Seltzer Brandy, youd have to get it on world.
Mar 8, 2019 8:36 pm
OOC:
I'm going to say with only around 70 people on board, the Potential does not have a ship counselor. Medical personell probably has some basic training in it but if the need arises, you would probably have to rendezvous with another ship or a space station.

As her superior officer you can access her computer through official means which would not require a roll and be above board but you would have to justify it to spacefleet command (which is just a formality) and Darcy would be informed about it.
You can also try to hack her computer which would require a Lasers roll and it would be against regulation so if she found out, she would have a legitimate reason to put in an official complaint about you.
You could also go into her room and access her files from her private computer there. That would be easier than hacking into her files from another computer but if she found out about that, it would be even worse for you than just accessing her files without authorization.

OOC:
So no worries then. Also Moira wants some of that for her collection now.
