RobbOgden93 says:
Marbo will not risk saying anything else to Commander Cassano, for fear of further embarassment.

He instead tells Belka the plan to move our cloning equipment to the medbay airlock, and have belka watch, through the window, to see if anything goes wrong.

Once they are set up, and marbo is in his space suit, he will enter the airlock with the sample, prepared to go to work.
Laser Feelings!

Where did this green tissue come from.

OOC:
I'll again just combine the LF into your success since you are asking the same question basically that you're trying to figure out with your roll anyway.
Marbo, you set up the experiment and start the cloning process. In the beginning, the cells duplicate rather quickly, producing a rubbery green fleshy mass with a diameter of approximately three centimeters in your equipment, but the larger the clone grows, the slower the process continues. You run more tests on it and discover some interesting bits of information already: Although the creature is parasitic in nature, in its infant stages, which the creature will be in once the cloning process has finished, it can survive outside of a host body. After four days, it begins to starve and die unless it can inhabit a host. Your results show that the adult creature feeds off of a number of things in the host's body - most interestingly, they appear to suck out pigmentation from their hosts. Depending on the type of creature in habitated by the parasite, they could survive between a few hours and a few months before the host dies and the parasite will have to move on into a new body.

To figure out more about how the bonding process works, you will have to wait for the cloning process to be completed, which, according to your calculations will take almost two days.
However, you are already pretty sure that these parasites are what is killing the pirates.
OOC:
If you have any more questions about the nature of the parasite, ask them and I'll let you know if Marbo could answer them at this point or not.

Kendall is waiting patiently for Cass to tell her to do something. She just wants to get her information and get out of here; it's too much! Space disease is a strange and freaky thing, and she would rather not expose herself to it if she can help it.
Mar 11, 2019 8:51 pm
OOC:
Sorry - I was giving you a chance to respond to Moira's interaction with Kendall and to anything else that was going on.
Mar 11, 2019 8:59 pm
After the exchange with Marbo mercifully ends, Cass swivels the captain's chair toward Kendall. She smiles. "So, the crew member most likely to be able to make sense of the alien computer gibberish was on the missing away team. I'm fresh out of Spacefleet-official computer whizzes. You get where I'm going with this, right?"
Mar 11, 2019 10:14 pm
"Commander. Zlam. Good news. No parasitic babies. Marbo is still unsure how they reproduce. I will destroy this specimen and we we should purge all corpses of pirates beamed aboard."
Mar 11, 2019 10:29 pm
"Great, that's great news, Marbo. Do the purge and brief me on what you've learned as soon as possible." Turning back to Kendall, Cass says, "I'm asking you to beam back to the pirate ship and try to make sense of their computer data. I don't think there's a danger of contamination, since you've already been there and seem fine, but we'll send you in a vac suit if you're worried about it. But we need to know details about their operation if we're going to have any chance of rescuing my team, and any other survivors. Will you do it?"
Mar 12, 2019 7:41 am
OOC:
Sorry about missing Moira’s talking to me. im having a very hard time keeping up with this thread.
Kendall would have told Moira that she would catch up with her later; this work seemed important enough to focus on for the time being.

Kendall responds to Cass: "I’ll go back, but I’m letting you know that I’ll search that computer not just for your information, but for mine as well. I’ll need a datapad that can store all the data of that computer, so that I don’t have to infect our onboard computer with any malware that the pirates may have uploaded as a precaution to information theft.

"I’ll make sure to retrieve and notify you of any information that I find about your captured crew. I would like a better breathing apparatus than I currently have, so that I don’t have to breath the air of that ship, if possible. Do we know the infection route of this pathogen?"

With that, Kendall will nod at Cass, and then she will walk to the transporter room.
Mar 12, 2019 1:36 pm
"That's a question for Dr. Zlam, but I'm guessing we don't, yet," Cass says. To Moira, "Get her a data pad and a respirator mask."

Once Kendall has what she needs, Cass walks her to the turbolift. "In addition to information about my crewmembers, flag and send immediately anything you find about this parasitic organism and the pirates' current operation and activities. The more we know going into the next leg of this, the better the outcome will be for us. And Kendall - thanks. Good hunting."

OOC:
What does Cass need to do to pull the records on Darcy's computer usage to find out what she's been up to? She's not looking to be stealthy - strictly above-board.
Mar 12, 2019 3:56 pm
OOC:
As acting captain you can access all your crewmembers' private files if you have reason to suspect that something in there might be important for the ship's security. The crewmember will get notified of this, however and may choose to file a complaint to spacefleet command. Since the rules for what constitutes a reason are very vague, however, there is almost no risk of any negative consequences coming from this.
You can also request access to Darcy's computer usage history from her personally. She can choose to reject this, however.
Mar 12, 2019 4:29 pm
Cass turns to Moira. "I'll be in the ready room. You have the conn. Tell Darcy to report to me and send her in when she gets here. I may call you into the meeting at some point. Let me know if Hortam calls with an update on the interrogation of the pirates. Or if anything else happens, of course." She heads to the ready room.
Mar 12, 2019 4:45 pm
Kendall, you get to the transporter room and without any trouble, you get beamed to the pirate ship, into a cargo hold that has a small runabout in it, as well as two spacefleet security officers and a four tied up pirates. One of the security officers walks up to you and holds out his hand: "Lt. Salesch. Ms. F'brei, I assume? Good to have you on our team. We've seen what you did to the pirates. If there's anything we can help you with, just let me know!"

----

Cass, you don't have to wait long for the door to signal you that someone is requesting permission to enter. After you give it, the door opens and Darcy steps in. Her golden spacefleet security uniform still looks flawless and she looks as if she was currently on active duty, not suspended for drinking.
"Commander Cassano", she greets you. She steps in so that the door can close behind her but then stays there right by the entrance.
Mar 12, 2019 4:49 pm
Moira stands by, watching the updates from Dr. Zlam, waiting for information from Hortam, and cringing as she anticipates the sound of phaser shots in the ready room.
OOC:
I'm rolling feelings to see if there's anything else I should be doing. Prepared because I've been on the ship a decade, but disregard if that doesn't work.

OOC:
Right now, it's just your job to hold command on the bridge. Your engineers should have repaired all damage to the Potential by now, so there's nothing else really you have to do. Doesn't mean you can't find something to do
Mar 12, 2019 5:03 pm
OOC:
Well I'm gonna look for the other pirate ship (s). Do I roll lasers to do it myself, or do I command someone to? Also, would that make people notice us?
Mar 12, 2019 5:05 pm
Cass just looks at Darcy calmly for a few seconds before beginning to speak. "When I made you my acting first officer, it was - as you yourself noted at the time - an act of trust on my part. I knew that you don't like or respect me personally, but I always considered you an exemplary officer who respected the chain of command, so I trusted you to conduct yourself in a manner befitting a Spacefleet first officer."

She lets that sit for a moment, then continues. "Why do you think I relieved you of duty?"
Mar 12, 2019 5:35 pm
OOC:
Lav: You roll, since I don't roll for NPCs. We're just assuming that your leadership influences how good the result are. You are prepared and have help but aren't an expert, I'd say. Other ships might pick up that sensors are scanning the area but random ships flying around and scanning an area is nothing unusual. It shouldn't alarm anyone
Darcy stands at the door in silence for a while, clearly thinking about how to put her thoughts into words. "I apologize for drinking alcohol on duty. I know that it is against regulations. I would mention that other officers were drinking as well but I understand that is not an excuse." She pauses and looks at you as if trying to judge your feelings at the moment. "I also apologize for what I said over the comm before you gave the order to relieve me of duty. It was inappropriate. I was... trying to make a joke."
Mar 12, 2019 5:38 pm
OOC:
Rolling Feelings to judge her sincerity. I'm going to add Prepared, because by now she's well aware that Darcy is hard to read, but definitely not Expert.

Edit: Yeah, great. My track record continues.

What are you talking about? That's a full success for Feelings.
She seems to be honest. She's definitely choosing her words carefully and might not be saying everything she's thinking but she's not lying either.
