Let's just say it might have made her a bit more open towards communication before shooting but she did not appreciate it.
OOC:
Close enough! XD

As for the holodeck, I'm going for a Kenobi-Force-Ghost type thing. I doubt I have time to program anything more than that.
Moira locates the file for Captain Darcy's voice, and quickly starts a new program: Bruce 276. She sets the speech pattern to cycle once, then end the program. The speech is as such:

"Lieutenant Commander Cassandra Darcy. Your emotions are getting the best of you. Spacefleet cannot afford for you to open fire without taking all possible precautions. Your performance today is almost commendable. Do not ruin it."
OOC:
I'll take Expert but not Prepared, since I came up with this running down the hallway. Is that okay?

Edit: Wellp, it's a partial. She would run this once, then run it again patched to the bridge directly.

Moira, just as you are finishing up and running the test for yourself, you receive a message from Davis:
"Darcy is talking to the leader of the pirates on the new ship. It's tense, like really tense. Either side might open fire at any second. Antarctica is standing by so if it comes to a firefight, we should easily win. They're negotiating about a prisoner exchange but the pirate leader seems unwilling to give up all our captured crewmembers. All our weapon systems are locked on their ship and ready to fire."
OOC:
Moira, you're ready to send Darcy the message. Let me know if you want to change anything or keep it as is. We'll keep your roll as is either way.

Moira's in the dark about the update to the datapad. She left it with Zlambano so they had some idea what was going on with Yelly MacScreamface.

She did hear the yelling, though, so she's going to send it directly to Darcy's comm button, trying to keep it as low-key as possible.

OOC:
I will need someone's intervention for the info on that data pad to become known to Cass.
Mar 17, 2019 10:31 pm
OOC:
Okay, I missed that. So Zlambano, you get that info.
Moira, you send the message to Darcy's comm badge, quietly, so hopefully only she will hear. There is no immediate reply.
OOC:
You're not getting a response or any indication as to the effect of your action for a bit so I'll let Marbo, Cass and Kendall interact for a bit before getting back to this.
Mar 17, 2019 10:34 pm
OOC:
We're proceeding on the assumption that Marbo shared the information from the data pad with Cass? Or do I need to wait for Marbo to RP that?
Mar 17, 2019 10:37 pm
OOC:
I'm sure he would share it with you but maybe we should wait for Robb and Hero to come back, so they can act as well. You can react to the info but we shouldnt rush too far ahead without them, I think

OOC:
Okay

She will try to hack into the communication between Potential and the enemy ship.

"I'm locked out, too," Cass tells Kendall. "I'm trying to find out what's happening up there."

Kendall, you hack into the comm system to listen in on what is happening on the bridge. You encounter some difficulties with the security system but ultimately succeed and can now in your ship hear everything going on on the bridge.
You hear Darcy's voice. "Lt. Mezron. You have the bridge. I will be in the captain's ready room."
Then there are steps, a door opening and closing and silence for a few seconds. You hear another voice that you can't place: "What was that? She is acting weird, isn't she?"
Another voice chastises this one for speaking out about the acting captain like this but doesn't actually object to the statement.

OOC:
Does Cass hear this, as well? Is it playing on the comm channel she and Kendall are both on?
Mar 18, 2019 4:54 am
OOC:
If neither of you ended the connection, you should be able to hear it as well

Cass processes the snippet of bridge communication she's just heard. If she's understanding things correctly, Darcy seems to have broken off in the middle of a tense standoff with an enemy ship to... go to the ready room.

"That can't be good," Cass mutters. She hesitates, then makes a decision. She hits her comm badge, opening a channel just to her acting first officer acting as captain acting strangely. "Cassano to Darcy. I... Is there anything I can do?" She's utterly winging it, flying entirely on intuition. She has a feeling that what Darcy needs right now is not an authority figure, not a rival, but a friend. It's her bad luck that all she's got is Cass, but Cass is willing to do her best. For all of them.

There is a long pause of over a minute before you receive a reply. "Cassano, I just received a... an inappropriate communication from Holodeck. I've sent a security team there. You don't happen to know anything about that, do you?"
Mar 18, 2019 5:40 am
Cass blinks. "An inappropriate communication... from the holodeck?" Of all the things she might have expected to hear - and she'd actually had no idea what to expect - this is well outside the list. "I don't... What kind of communication?"
Mar 18, 2019 6:02 am
"Someone is trying to psych me out, probably to get me to step back from acting captain." She pauses. Her voice is trembling slightly. "They used voice samples of my father to make his voice speak to me, criticize me. They must know he's in a coma, that he might die, right? That's cruel."
Mar 18, 2019 6:22 am
Starshit, Cass thinks. Moira. It had to be. She knows that the engineer would have had good intentions, but she hears the pain in Darcy's voice and knows that while it was well-intentioned, it was also cruel. She turns her head to the right to look at the peaceful form of Captain Darcy and it strikes her that, to Cassandra, he probably doesn't look peaceful.

He looks dead.

Tears sting Cass' eyes and she looks away from the captain. "I'm so sorry that happened, Darcy. It probably wasn't intended to be cruel, but it was a shitty thing for someone to do. I had no knowledge of it, I promise you. I would have stopped it." A bitter laugh escapes her, and the fact that it sounds half-way to a sob alarms her, but her feet have already left the diving board; there's nowhere to go but on into the water. "Of course, I can't even get someone to let me out of this damn tube, so I might be overestimating my powers of persuasion. You get a few holes in your face and suddenly nobody listens to you anymore."

Shut up, asshole. This isn't about you.

Cass sniffs and wipes her eyes with her sleeve."Talk to me about what's happening with the enemy ship. We can work through this together, okay, Cass? Trust me, all I care about is keeping our people safe."

Quietly, Cass closes the other comm channel.

OOC:
Moira, Kendall, you hear this conversation up until Cass closes communication to you. Cass when exactly do you do that?
Moira, you might be in trouble. There's a security team coming to the holodeck.

I have to go now. I'll post IC again in a bit
Mar 18, 2019 6:56 am
OOC:
Cass closes the other channel right after she asks Darcy to trust her and tell her what's going on. She's trying to preserve Darcy's dignity; she doesn't want to have Darcy open up to her thinking it's just the two of them and then later find out that several other people heard the whole thing.
