OOC:
Well played, Spinach. Well played. I feel like a horrible person now - and Moonbeam, I blame you, too.
Moira stops in her tracks.

Well. Damn.

She suspected this may have happened. She deletes the program and heads outside the holodeck, waiting for security. She had a bad feeling that for once, being sober wasn't going to help her case.

Sonofa...First ah git the Commander's face burnt off. Then ah break the Darcy lass. Of all tha reasons ta get court-martialed, ah would'a thought ah'd have a blaze'a glory, not a dumpster fire..

She composes herself, centering herself on all her Spacefleet training. She removes the small vial from her hair - the one Scotch she actually has in space, from back home, and cracks the seal a millimeter, just to smell the Isles briefly before hiding it back in her locks. It's not the alcohol content that calms her nerves, but the reminder of her own pa.

When the security team arrives, she's sitting calmly in a tall chair, hands folded. She leaves her comm open to the medbay, to reach Zlam, and on the off chance the Commander is actually willing to listen. She also records the message, but only sends it to Darcy's datapad. Moira's screwed up this much already, right? And anyway, she suspects she'll need it for her pending court-martial.

Ah'm sure yer here because 'a the comm ta Lieutenant Commander Darcy. Ah realize now that it may'a come across as a dick move, an' ah apologize fer that. Ah'm sure there's at least a writeup in mah future, and ah'll own that. But please try ta understand where ah'm comin' from. Despite mah personal opinion of the Acting Captain's personality, ah've got nothin' but respect fer her position as a Spacefleet officer. Ah thought ah rose through the ranks fast, an' she did it faster than me, in tha shadow of her own pa. Much more impressive, if yeh ask me. Ah've seen sides of her today that have challenged mah prejudice against her, but also that concern me about her own well-bein'. Her crew is a bunch 'a idiots. Yours truly tha worst of 'em. We're locked in high-stress combat with a hostile race. Ah don't want ta see her lose a career that her pa will be proud of, just because tha guns come out. In mah case, mah pa is a centerin' force fer me. Ah was hopin' hers would be, as well. Ah can see ah was wrong, and ah apologize. But there's a sentient race out there, hostile just cuz' they're scared. An' Dr. Zlam's got mah prototype for somethin' that we might all be able ta agree on. Ah'd really rather not be taken in until this blows over. But yeh don't see before yeh an insubordinate she-wolf. Just a stupid engineer tryin' ta protect her team.
OOC:
Feelings, don't fail me now.....can I please roll expert because it's the truth?

Edit: That last one wouldn't have mattered anyway. For my Laser Feelings, what do I need to do to fix this???

Edited IC to include the LF response.

Laser Feelings: Once Darcy finds out that it was you, she will hate you. Despite your good intentions, she thinks you deliberately wanted to affect her this way, most likely to get rid of a disliked commanding officer. If you manage to explain your real motives to her, that might influence her decision how to deal with you. You can also try to involve Cass, either to influence Darcy or to take back command and therefore also take control of how to deal with you.
If your prototype design works, that might also influence her decision or it might not. That one is more difficult to say.
OOC:
If you want to change your action, you can.
Mar 18, 2019 12:55 pm
OOC:
I will then change my previous action so that I'm sending the info to the medbay in general so Marbo hears it too, and send the message to Darcy as well, but to her datapad. I still don't want to interrupt.

Dumpster fiiiiiiiire

Shit! Kendal thinks to herself, as she maintains the comm with the bridge.

She is going to stay patched into the bridge, and she will try to also intercept sensor readings to understand the situation that the Potential is in.
OOC:
She wants to determine if she can just sneak out slowly and discreetly with her ship.

Lasers (hacking more systems) - (2d6)

Kendall:
The Potential's shields are up and all sensors are running. As is, you can't fly out, especially not without anyone noticing.
Since you are already hacked into the systems, you could set up a sequence where the shields drop for only a second and you get beamed out just at that moment. That might not even raise too much suspicion, depending on how well you do but then you would definitely get picked up by sensors unless you were to disable those as well.

Ya know. If you want the pirates to open fire in that millisecond.....
Mar 18, 2019 2:40 pm
There are two unarmed security officers in front of you, Moira. One of them gives you a sad half-smile and says: I'm sorry, Lieutenant Commander. I don't really know what this is about but Lt. Comm. Darcy told us to arrest whoever we encounter at the holodeck because of some transgressive communication sent from here. You will have to talk to her about this. Until further notice, we have to confine you to your quarters. Please just come with us and I'm sure this will blow over soon."
Cass, the channel between you and Darcy is open so you can hear her taking deep breaths, calming herself down a bit. After a while, she says: "I was working on an agreement with the leader of the newly arrived pirates: their captives - our away team - against ours - the pirates on the ship and the parasite in our sickbay. He was unwilling to agree and wanted to keep the prisoners they took in exchange for the people we killed with our transporter." Talking about starship business appears to be calming Darcy down a bit. Her voice becomes more stable as she's speaking - only to get worse again when she continues: "After... After I got interrupted, I couldn't continue the talks anymore. I know I should have been more professional but I handed the negotiations off to Captain Tulak. I... I don't even know how they're going at the moment."

There's a pause, then Darcy says: "Commander, I am currently unfit to command the Potential. With your permission, I am going to transfer command back to you. I will make all necessary preparations so that you can lead the ship from sickbay."

Hey all! Internet at home went out saturday morning and isnt fixed but im back at work now, so ill have internet all day pretty much. I apologize for the delay.
Mar 18, 2019 2:53 pm
OOC:
Marbo would have shared the information from the datapad with cassano as well. Can we just retcon my absence as having been working on cass's fancy new outfit?
Marbo snaps out of the trance-like work state he had fallen into. As he leans back, admiring the work before him, he remembers that there are important people trapped in not so important tubes. He rushes over, holding up the bulky external suit, with all of its gizmos and gadgets and various pumps and regulators that hang off of it, peeking out from behind for Cass' look of approval.

"Commander. Zlam. I apologize. I had nearly forgotten all about you. Busy mind, you see.".

One of marbos lower hands passes over the panel outside the tube, and it whooshes open. Marbo immediately rushes forward, wasting no time in getting cassano inside the bulky, overweight suit. As he seals the area around the neck he reaches around her and flicks a few switches on the large backpack unit, and she feels the same humidity of the tube fill the inside of the suit.

Marbo gives a quick check around the commander for leaks, and after a few moments, pats her on the shoulder and announces

"I believe this will work nicely!"

Robb, have you given me a roll for that device yet? If so, remind me what you got

OOC:
Glad you're back, Robb! Hope your home internet is fixed soon.

Based on my hack, can I read the ship’s sensors related to the enemy ship?
Mar 18, 2019 3:08 pm
OOC:
It is heavily armed for such a small ship, its shields are raised and there are a total of five life forms on board. Is there anything else specific you want to know?

Any vulnerabilities in the hull of that ship that I can see based on the sensor readings?

Yay! Robb's back! Good luck with the internet...

Moira does a slight double-take.

Just mah quarters? Oh. That's nice. Gentlemen, thank yeh fer not addin' any stress ta tha commander and first officer.

She complies simply enough. Once she's in her room, she flops face-down on her bed. After making a noise like a dying whale into her pillow, she comms the medbay.

Oi, Doctor. Ah screwed up. Darcy grounded me, which! Ah deserve. But is mah synth-skin workin'??? Ah have a bad feeling about these negotiations. They need ta see tha schematics pronto. Better still if they can see tha prototype. Please, Marbo. Send tha schematics out ta tha crew. Heck! Hit tha Antarctica if yeh can. Hurry!

She sighs and blasts this though her speakers. Then she throws her mattress up, Murphy-bed style, and looks upon the soft glow of her mostly-legal whiskey collection.

All right, Moira. Best make tha most of it.

Cass closes her eyes. Of course, this was exactly what she wanted, but she hadn't wanted it this way. "Okay, I want you to hear me. You are human. You're not a machine. I should have offered you some time off duty when your father was put into stasis in the first place, but I honestly didn't think of it. I'm human, too." She glances at the suit Marbo is holding up. "For the time being, at least. Anyway, this is not your fault, Cass. It's just a bad situation all around." She waits a couple of seconds before asking, "Are you taking yourself off duty, or are you up to staying on as my first officer?"
Mar 18, 2019 3:42 pm
"Under other circumstances, I would remove myself from duty, but I don't think we have that luxury right now. Lt. Comm. Bruce was the one who sent the message. She sent me some excuse but I haven't listened to it yet. It took all I had to just confine her to her quarters for now instead of blowing her out of an airlock. We're in a crisis situation and if I take myself off duty, the only Lt. Comm. left on board and the next in line for First Officer would be Dr. Zlam. I think we both now why that would not be a good idea."
Mar 18, 2019 3:45 pm
"Engineer Bruce. Zlam. I will send the schematics to everyone i can." Marbo begins to essentially spam-bot as many of the local network contacts as he can, limiting himself to addresses listed as medical officers, engineers, and the like on any Space-fleet vessels.

The email follows marbos speaking protocol, including his awkward interactions with people he is unfamiliar with, which would look something like this. [User. Zlam. I am a doctor, you can trust me. Here are some schematics. Download them and share them with your friends aboard the ship.
