Yeah, I've gotten reasonably good at deciphering Moira-speak and her bizarre intuitive leaps, but this... was beyond my power to discern.

I'm trying really hard not to laugh out loud right now XDIf tha robots are too much, then we can give'em somethin' drenched in bio pigments ta inhabit. Octopus. Ink. Replicators don't have vital organs, so there'd be space fer tha squishies already. But they do make the muscles, because it's food.

Cass watches the octopus hit the wall and tries to process what Moira is saying. From inside the sealed Cass-a-tron 6000, she can't smell anything, but she wouldn't be surprised to learn that Moira's been sampling her collection pretty hard. "So your secondary proposal is," she says slowly, wanting to make sure she's getting it right, "to replicate empty octopus skins for the parasites to live in? Instead of the robot bodies?"

They're easily punted out of water, Robb XDYeh've got it, Commander. Robots can make better robots. But Octopi cannae make better Octopi. An' they don't seem ta feel pain, so tha whole breathin outta water thing won't be a problem for'em. Tha lack a' thumbs is a safety precaution fer us, but tha tentacles mean they can still function.
Ah'm just tryin' not ta kill 'em all, Commander.

Reasonably certain that she has a grasp of what Moira has in mind, Cass calls Marbo on the comm. "Doctor, if we have the replicators produce octopus skins and musculature, could the parasites be transplanted into them and use them like they do humanoid bodies?"

Well, you still have a dying ex-infected in stasis. She's on ice right now so you have some extra time to get to her but not unlimited. You also have a hostile parasite with a dead host body in a containment field. There's also Lt. Yang who's arm hasn't been properly treated. And there's a weird prototype robot that Moira wanted you to hook up to a foreign life form.
I think Marbo has all four arms full with work right now

You're probably right. I just suddenly has this image in my head of Marbo standing in sickbay like "Is there anything I have to do today?" while all around him, people are bleeding and dying.The other two things still apply, though

Thank you, i just needed a quick reassessment to help guide my processes. I dont remember my Ensigns names, so they get star trek names."Belka, see to the woman in stasis, i want a full scan report of what needs to be done to keep her alive. You have full replicator permissions for cybernetic parts and lifesaving medical supplies. Drug limiter still in effect, but permissions can be granted. Ensign McCoy, and Ensign Pulaski, see to Lt. Yang and treat his arm. Synth skin and burn cream as well as pain medication should suffice. Marbo is taking the Parasite and the robot to the airlock.
He pings his communicator to the bridge
"Bridge. Zlam. Delicate operation occuring in airlock, parasite transfer to artifical body. Standard safety codes in place. Moira has the unlock codeword sent to her. If Marbo does not transmit the codeword over ships PA, Airlock will remain sealed. Any suspicious activity should result in airlock purge."
Marbo heads to the equipment room and puts on the large suit he wears for spacewalks. and Grabs his Datapad, typing a quick private email to Lt. Bruce to ensure that the parasite does not hear him in case it takes him over.

Just saw it. Spinach, can we retcon so instead of the robot body im putting it in the octopus?Can i use my laser feelings to know if the octopus thing would work? i mean feasibly, it would. they produce their own pigment, they constantly shift skin pigments, and they can be pumped out by the replicator.... So i think it should/

We should clear up this question before proceeding. Robb, here's your LF, I guess:I did not think much about this proposal before but now that I have, it can't work. The parasites need a host that's alive and the replicators can't create life. If you found a real, living octopus somewhere, the parasites might be able to take those over but a replicated dead animal won't help them.
