"Does the remaining ship have shields engaged?" Cass asks Mezron.
OOC:
I'm perplexed about why that ship is still hanging around instead of high-tailing it back to the mothership?
Edited to add: What I mean is, did we do anything to the ship's engines or anything else to disable it? Or is there anything else about the ship that we have already been told (that I may have overlooked or forgotten) to explain this?
You haven't done anything to disable that ship. All parasites left behind on that ship were tied up in a cargo hold. When the other pirates came to reclaim them, they must have left those two behind to look after the ship. After witnessing the destruction of the other ship, they're probably on the way to the bridge to warp out of here, so if you want to act, you'll only have very little time left before they're gone
"We're reading seventeen life forms in total, excluding the strike team.", he replies.
OOC:
It's a small ship that can easily be piloted by three people but has enough room for ten times that.
Kendall comms Cass: "That skeleton crew is gonna have a hell of a time piloting that ship on their own. It requires at least three, from what I saw. Let’s take down their shields and transport those bugs to kill them.
I’m sure that your lead engineer can get the ship back to a safe state afterwards, so that we can take the fight to that queen."
Oh, didn't realize the shields were down. Can I retcon that to Cass ordering that the life forms be transported to the cargo hold? Cass won't bother sending them to sickbay.
You receive an "Understood" from the transporter room and a few seconds later, Mezron speaks up: "Transport successful, no lifeform readings from the pirates' ship. And no lifeform readings in the designated cargo bay either."
Moira stares so hard at Marbo that he dies. Well done, Lav
Im joking, obviously. Moira, you look at Darcy. She is consciously avoiding looking at you, focusing instead on Marbo's operation as well.
She is wearing a new uniform without burn marks or blood on it and she doesn't seem to be in pain. She seems to be all healed up.
Under the watchful eyes of Moira and Darcy, the medical team finishes Dr. Marbo's surgery. His neck and shoulders are covered under and connected to the operating table by a thick metal apparatus.
Doctor Belka has his hands cleaned and disinfected and then walks up to Darcy. He speaks quietly to her and she nods, says something back to him and then walks towards the exit door, right past Moira.Cass, you receive multiple messages at the same time. One is by sickbay, confirming a successful operation. Marbo is still breathing through a machine but should be able to be woken up and disconnected from it within the hour. He will require a similar helmet to the one Cass is wearing but it is already being built. Belka is also telling you to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't overextend himself, which is a serious risk with him and could lead to severe consequences in his current condition.
The second is by Darcy who also gives a short summary of Marbo's situation and then requests that Moira is sent back to her quarters, now that the operation is finished. She also informs you that she will join you on the bridge shortly.
The third message is from Stellar Cartography. Apparently one of the long range sensors has picked up a distress beacon requestion help and mentioning a location as well as three names: Lt. Comm. Alexandra Lloyd, Dr. Lorq and Lt. Comm. Zephyr Borealis
Moira doesn't need to be told. She heads back to her quarters, apologizing to the guards if they're there. She does let them know the doctor's going to be okay.
The guard waiting outside the door to sickbay for you looks relieved when he hears the news about Marbo. He follows you back to your quarters, his posture is very relaxed. He is clearly not expecting any trouble from you.
