Do you want yours to come before Darcy's?
Mar 21, 2019 6:22 pm
Yes, I'll wait for her as well
Mar 21, 2019 6:24 pm
I can do that. I don't mind waiting until after Darcy, though. Moira would kinda want to make sure everyone was okay.

Reminds me of my teenage self writing fanfiction in the website submission window only to lose whole chapters again and again when the internet cut out while I was trying to post

Every good teen fanfiction writer knows you write it in word or notepad and save it to you pc, then when you submit it you copy and paste the whole thing into the site so you dont lose the 40 pages youve written about what it would be like if The 9th doctor and Hermione Granger when she got taken as his companion.

I mean... uh.... Whats a fanfiction......

Teen fanfiction writers. Yeah, for sure, just teens do that. Um.

I JUST REALIZED WHY WE ALL GET ALONG SO WELL! Every single one of us was that teenager on dial-up or early broadband internet writing fanfictions in the wee hours of the morning when we were supposed to be studying. Imagining our lives at hogwarts, or what would happen if our dream couples met, Losing sleep to manufacture dreams of alternate universes.

Yep, we were all teenagers then. Absolutely.

I mean, i migrated from angsty romance fanfiction to Fallout and other IP's that were super open ended, and then eventually to RPG's as a way to live out my fantastical imaginings.

But do what you love right? I dont mean to sound like im knocking people who write romance fanfiction, i just seemed to grow away from it as i became an adult and didnt have the time to sit down and knock out another chapter of Captain janeway realizing she was romantically interested in Tchakotay.

Not that i ever even started that or wrote like 12 chapters of it that never saw the light of day.

I've never written fanfic, but I write story posts for the games I run in Notepad and copy-paste into the forum window. :)

Janeway/Chakotay was an obvious ship that should totally have been canon. Lots of chemistry there. Although I maintain that Kate Mulgrew could make chemistry with a potted plant and it would be totally mesmerizing.

I've never been interested in romance fiction at all, so my fanfiction was never focused on that. The vast majority of it was humorous critiques of logical lapses and character inconsistencies in the particular fandoms. But I wasn't a teenager when I was writing it, so that probably influenced my choice of subject matter.

How am I not surprised by that?

I think honestly, most fanfiction writers who start young seem to start with ships, then they develop like, an OC-EC Romance, then they start to burn off all those excess hormones and start to branch into other areas of fanfics.

If you were surprised by it, it would mean you weren't paying attention! :D

Some of them are pretty hilarious.
