"Mezron, Davis, beam yourselves into Runabout 1 and prepare for takeoff. I'll lower the shields and try to give you cover so you can get to the Potential."
Mar 29, 2019 8:15 pm
Marbo, you arrive at the edge of the intact part of the saucer section. There's some injured people lying around. You spot Belka who is currently using his tricorder to scan the obviously broken leg of a woman in Science uniform. There's a total of three more injured that you can see: Two men in security uniform and a woman in civilian clothes. You can't really tell their injuries without examining them further

Cass

"That's suicide!", Mezron exclaims. "We can all beam onto the runabout together to get to teh Potential. I'm not leaving you behind, commander!"
Mar 29, 2019 8:20 pm
Kendall ducked behind a console at that moment, trying to assess what was going on. She's been double-crossed before, so seeing this kind of behavior doesn't phase her.

Upon seeing Lorq fall by his own ally's hand, she takes the "pen" in one hand, grabs her phaser (already set to max stun) in the other, and waits for an opening to shoot Zephyr. She will glance the console to see if she can find the controls for the shields and/or the transporters.

"Someone has to lower the shields for the runabout to leave," Cass says. "And then fire on the enemy ship to give the runabout cover. Go. That's an order."

Cass is really hoping that she'll be able to do all of that by herself.

"Belka. Zlam. Casualty count." Marbo says, before switching to shipwide comms.

"medbay hit. Need free hands to help with wounded. Status..." Marbo pauses to think and determine what status of emergency this is... "Red." He finishes.

Kendall, you shoot one of the infected that's grabbing Moira, giving her a chance to escape (Roll, please, Moira). You see Zephyr going down after Lorq shoots him in revenge for being shot himself.
You also have a look at the console but in the stress of this situation, you are unable to make out any important information about the shields or transporters on them
Mar 29, 2019 8:24 pm
OOC:
Zephyr is already down.

Marbo

Belka looks at you. "We're counting eight injured in total, one dead. We were lucky this section wasn't visited more heavily"

Cass

Davis starts working on the console, setting up the transport but Mezron stands up to face you. "No, commander. The crew needs you. If anyone has to stay behind, it should be me!"

Cass is unprepared for the intensity of Mezron's loyalty. It's touching, but there really isn't time for sentimentality. Cass puts her hands on the young woman's shoulders and looks her in the eyes. "I need you to do this for me, Mezron.

Kendall peers around a corner to assess the situation on the bridge.
OOC:
How many enemy combatants remain?
Kendall will take the person most threatening to a seeming ally and fire at them.

"Good. Spare hands en route. Marbos are full. I am returning to cargo bay to finish preparing the secondary laboratory for arrival of our away teams. Nearly prepared to recieve slugs and victims."

Marbo will help out until the spare hands arrive, and he will gradually recede while assigning tasks to the arriving assistance.

OOC:
Kendall, before your shot, there's three of the original pirates left but you see four more come in through the doors.
You got a Laser Feeling so let me know what you want to know
Marbo, after a few minutes, two nurses show up and take over for you so you can return to cargo bay

"Cassano to Potential. I'm sending Davis and Mezron in the runabout back to you. I'm going to try to give them and you cover from this new enemy ship. My shields are at 39%, so I don't know how long I can keep that up. Remember your priorities. Cassano out."

She attempts to hail the new ship.

Moira, you try to use the opening to escape but one of the newly arrived pirates gets in your way, grabs you and bites deep into your shoulder. Escape from this situation seems to be getting more and more hopeless.
OOC:
You'll get another chance to escape after Kendall's shot. She got a Laser Feeling, though, so we'll have to wait for that first

The Potential is moving towards your ship, Cass. It's shooting another phaser beam at the green ship and hits it again, although the pirates' shields are still holding.
"Commander, I'm not going to let you sacrifice yourself!", Darcy's voice sounds over the comm as she's attempting to move the Potential between you and the pirate ship. "Our shields are still holding together well. Just get on the runabout with the others and we'll pick you up!"
The Potential can definitely take another few shots before losing shields but taking in the runabout is going to be very difficult without your shield in the way because they will have to drop shields to let the runabout in.
The pirate ship is firing up it's weapons again, ready to shoot another phaser burst at the Potential.

Alex, from where she's taken cover behind a console, turns her phaser rifle up to one tick below 'disintegrate into component atoms' and fires at the closest infected, ideally one that doesn't risk an ally being hit by friendly fire. She knows all too well how poor a shot she is.

The entire business with Zephyr's seeming betrayal is going to have to be locked away in her brain until she has the opportunity to beat him senseless with her own two fists.

Cass is filled with a ballooning sense of indignation. "She's putting the Potential between me and the slugmother? Seriously? She doesn't even like me!"

It's clear now that Cass will have to pivot - again! - because of somebody doing the blatantly unexpected. She punches in the coordinates for runabout one, stabbing the buttons in time to her rapid rant."First, you're a stickler for protocol. All about the chain of command. Question my every choice. But I give you clear, unequivocal priorities, and what do you do? You put the ship in danger! For ME!" She stands up. "Just wait till your father wakes up, missy! I am so gonna tell on you."

She hits the button to energize, materializing onboard runabout one. At the startled looks from Davis and Mezron, Cass throws up her hands in a violent gesture. "Oh, yeah, it's a whole big thing. Get out of the pilot's seat! I'm taking over."

Before she's fully settled onto the chair, Cass is flipping switches and hailing the Potential. "Runabout one to Potential. We are preparing to drop the pirate ship's shields on my mark. Since you're hellbent on putting my ship in the line of fire, kindly give us a bit of cover for long enough to get out of the hangar bay."

Cass holds her hand over the console to which she has routed the ship's shield controls, waits a few seconds, and says, "Mark."

OOC:
I want to know how to subdue the group most quickly. Is there a panel behind them that I can blast that will take out a large number of them?
