No has mentioned biofilters to me. I didn't know the ship had them. Do all the ships we control have them?
To answer your question, I am fine thank you for your worry. Since I have been a prisoner some upgrades in parasite prevention have been made.
What is your specialty, Moira. If I may call you Moira

This is like talking to Marbo without the language barrier....

Jest this ship in light’a our....interactions. An’ Moira’s fine. Ah’m tha head engineer, an’ tha first Spacefleet Officer ta overload a cargo ship’s reactor core on purpose without killin’ tha entire crew.

She beams.

It’s how ah got this job. Now, is Lorq yer first name er last? Ah’d Rather not get it wrong.

Cute that you think Moira isn’t part of the problem XD

OOC:
FYI, folks: all transporters have biofilters built in. That's ST canon. We didn't invent it.

OOC:
Yeah but now we have more!

It is just Lorq. Merengi only have one name, there is no profit in wasting ink to write two names.
Why did you destroy a reactor core?

RobbOgden93 says:
Marbo points to the collar apparatus he dropped on the floor moments ago.

" Marbo already breathes through a new hole. Marbo recommends you comply with the treatment, it is for your own good."
"I’ll gladly give you another one, Doctor," replies Alex. "I am not kidding when I tell you that I will not be sedated. We do not have the time for any of us to be at less than full mental capacity. The commander confiscated the phaser. You do not need to worry about me disintegrating anyone else."

"I’m quite sure you’re a perfectly reasonable individual, but," she begins, then makes a series of clicks and whistles that approximate Nemurlian language fairly well. "Get off my back," is the translation.

Because she's not far away, Cass hears everything Marbo and Alex say to each other (although she doesn't understand whatever Alex says in Nemurlian - and how is she able to speak that language without the translator turning it back into English?). Cass walks back to where they are standing.

"Alex, I'm not asking him to sedate you, just to treat you for shock. I need to know that you're not hampered by a medical issue if we get into another confrontation. It could put you and everyone else here in danger. So I'm asking you to please allow Dr. Zlam to treat you, but if I have to order you to, I will. For the good of us all."

Alex takes a long, expressionless look at Cass before nodding. "Very well. I won’t put you in that position then, Commander."

She turns to Marbo. "Do your worst, Doctor."

Cass leaves to give the doctor and patient some semblance of privacy and starts looking around the sickbay. It's different from the ones she's seen on Consortium ships, and she tries idly to figure out what various pieces of equipment might be used for. As she looks, she hits her comm badge. "Cassano to Darcy. Where are we on repairs to the ship? Are the shields up to a shooting match? And can we run if we have to?"

Yoo Merengi sure are pragmatic folk. An’ yeh see, back when ah was on tha cargo ship circuit, we got caught in a binary star flare. Needed ta jolt tha system ta propel us ta safety. So. Even though ah cannae use mah right wing, ah figured ah’d offer mah help here in case things get weird. How long’ve yeh been practicin’ medicine?

I have been practicing medicine for about ten years now. I am the disgrace of my family. They do not understand a career that is not based on profit. They are sure I will spend the afterlife in the Vault Of Eternal Destitution.

OOC:
Moira, don't forget, you got a communication from Cass.
Cass, instead of the expected reply from Moira, you instead hear Darcy's voice: "Commander, the Four's shields are down. Beaming you to the temporary med bay now."
Unless you protest immediately, you are all transported into the hangar that Marbo has prepared to function as a sickbay. Zephyr, who was already sedated before, does not look any different now than he did before the transport. He is simply lying on the hospital bed he was sent to without moving

OOC:
Cass does not object. Not at all.

OOC:
My bad. I thought Moira filling Davis in was enough. Did I miss something else?
Maybe if yeh were an ancient Earth doctor they’d be more agreeable. It’s noble of yeh, though. Most races wouldn’t call yeh a disgrace.

The away team transports in, and Moira hops to.

Commander! Is everythin’ all right? Why cannae we let tha envoy in?
Apr 6, 2019 5:37 pm
Lorq starts doing any medical things needed.
Apr 6, 2019 5:39 pm
OOC:
Lorq, Marbo: One of you will perform the operation. The other can assist. The assistand will roll three dice and if there's at least one success in there, the main doctor will receive an additional die for a total of four (Prepared, Expert, Help)
Apr 6, 2019 5:41 pm
Cass looks around the cargo bay, at first not hearing Moira. "Cassano to Darcy. Confirm that the temporary medbay is sealed off from the rest of the ship. No one in or out of it except via our transporters." She glances at Zephyr, apparently still unconscious and says to the med team, "Put him in restraints until someone confirms that the symbiote was stripped from his body."

She notes that she's still wearing the tranq rifle and the phaser set to fry-your-ass.

Finally, what Moira said penetrates her consciousness. "Envoy? What envoy?"
Apr 6, 2019 5:48 pm
Marbo briefly shuts off his translator, and clicks and chirps back to Alex

RobbOgden93 sent a note to 78RPMLife
He reactivates his translator, crouches down before alex, and injects her with half the dose, as close to her foot as he can find a spot.

"Further away from the heart. Takes longer to produce effects. No risk of over-sedation."

Marbo returns to his feet, smiles at alex, and says "See, not so bad.

He turns to the commander and waits to hear the plan of action to get out of here.
