"Not as a secret agenda, since it's no longer a secret. Though I am highly in favor of that as an overall plan."

Lorq takes a breath and goes over the conversation in his head.
I may be paranoid, but it still sounds off.
He messages the captain.
Commander, I know you are very busy, and I may he worrying over nothing...however, I feel I should bring something to your attention.
The medical officer of the Dove messaged us and while there was nothing outwardly wrong with anything they said, it just rubbed me the wrong way. Almost as if she was looking for answers that would forgive violence if something went wrong with the transfer.
You can watch the playback of the conversation if you want.
Lorq gives her the time stamp of the message.
It is probably Merengi paranoia, but I thought you should know.

Everyone is busy with preparations until the scheduled time for the prisoner exchange arrives.
The hangar bay is secured with biofilters in the door and a way to biofilter the entire room should it be necessary. If any of you have other security measures you wanted to install, let me know and we'll say you did that in the meantime.
All the PCs are gathered on the bridge and everyone has some terminals available to them to watch over the process and ensure things are going as intended.
To initiate the exchange, you just need to comm the Four.

Cass looks over the crowded bridge and thinks that this is about as dramatic a setup as she's ever seen.
"Mezron, hail the Four, please."

Mezron opens the channel and the captain of the Four appears on the view screen. He appears to be in the Four's engineering section, judging by the background. "Are you ready to begin the exchange?"

Alex occupies her usual chair on the bridge, but she can hardly be said to have settled into it. She fidgets enough that a nearby ensign gives her a concerned look. Behind her back, of course, because who wants to risk getting chewed out by a superior officer?
As the captain of the Four appears on screen, she sits up straighter, leaning forward to pay careful attention to body language and what's going on in the background of the scene, if anything.

Alex, the captain appears tense. There's a lot riding on this moment and it shows even in his host body. From the angle that the view screen shows, you can't see anyone else except for him but you can hear other voices from offscreen. They are speaking in the clicking language but the universal translator can interpret them in real time by now. They're talking about technical details about the shuttles they're sending out.
"That is good to hear. We will send out two shuttles now. One contains a medical team and will go into your cargo hold so you can revivify four of our missing people into it. The other shuttle contains four humanoid prisoners. You can use your transporters to recover them immediately before the revivification. Do not revive the Second Generation Veron in this first group."

The connection to the captain does not get broken but it gets changed to audio only as the viewscreen changes to show the outside of the Four. Just like the captain announced, two shuttles are leaving its hangar bay simultaneously. One is obviously of Veron design and mich larger than the other one, which appears to be a spacefleet shuttle. The spacefleet shuttle stops moving not far from the Four, the Veron shuttle continues and enters the Potential's hangar bay. Your sensors confirm four humanoid life signs on board the spacefleet shuttle and five humanoid and four non-humanoid life signs on the Veron shuttle.
OOC:
Did you inform Thompson that the exchange is going to happen now before contacting the Four? If you did, he would want to be involved in this comm channel, able to talk to the captain of the Four as well.May 1, 2019 6:55 am

Yes, Cass would have informed Thompson that we were about to begin the exchange.May 1, 2019 7:21 am

I thought so. Just wanted to make sure. In that case, he's in the call as well. He was uncharacteristically quiet so far but oh well xDMay 1, 2019 4:50 pm
Not participating directly in either the negotiation or the exchange, Alex remains vigilant for indications that the double-cross is on. She moves to within sight and earshot of the commander so that she can signal should anything strike her as suspicious.
Outwardly, though, she seems to have found a way to keep still. She stands straight, hands clasped behind her back as she watches, and does not fidget.

Alex approaches Cass while the video is off and requests that she mute the comm. When the audio is off, Alex says, "I'm concerned about Thompson going rogue. He's been too quiet thus far. You might request that he take on some role that seems important, just to give him something to brag about later." She purses her lips in thought. "I'm not certain what that should be. Tracking shuttles, or having their medbay staff see to our returned colleagues, or something of the sort that does not require he speak to the Verons at all. That would seem to be the important part.

"We have briefly talked about her before, the direct offspring of the Queen that we are going to be joining with a humanoid host. We have sent your engineer her biodata separately so she should be able to determine which one of the rematerialized Verons is her", the captain explains.

"Oh yes, I recall that discussion," Cass says. "We'll make sure she isn't one of those revived in the first group." Turning to look at Moira, she says, "Are you ready to commence with the reconstitution process for the first four Verons in the biofilter, Lt. Commander Bruce?"
