Alira lets the medic look her over barely.

I am fine. We practice getting stunned in the Academy. I've been stunned before and I will be stunned again

Can you check to see what each replicator has produced? I broke that woman's jaw. She will need strong meds at least, maybe something else if they have a medic.

She looks around.

Maybe Vega can coax that information from the computers. Also, we can give you good descriptions, so you can check any security cameras.

I would guess they would avoid cameras, so a map of blind spots would be helpful as well.

Alira looks at Moira

Sorry, those are suggestions of course.

Moira’s casual smile hasn’t dropped.

Please, Lieutenant. Tha other information is helpful, and appreciated. Ah do believe Alira’s on ta somethin’, if yeh find that agreeable.
Jun 13, 2019 5:21 pm
The medic says to Alira: "You're also taught to follow protocol at the academy. And protocol demands a full scan after being hit with a phaser, regardless of the setting. This won't take long."

Mars listens to Alira's ideas and replies: "Good idea with the replicators. We'll keep an eye on all logs, look out for anything unusual. If they brought meds from off world, that won't do us much good however." He then turns to Vega. "If you have aided these people in getting on planet, we will have to arrest you. If it's true that you were forced to comply with their demands, this is just a formality and you will be released as soon as we finish our investigation, so don't worry."
Vega still looks shaken and scared, the same way she did after Moira threatened her. She's very convincing. "I will do anything I can, Lieutenant, but please, let me stay with my brother. I would never hurt anyone. I'm not a threat and I swear I won't try to run away." She looks at Zeph for help.
When Moira replies, Mars quickly turns to her and says: "Very well, I'll brief you on everything in a second, let me resolve this first quickly."

While this conversation is happening, the medic finishes his checkup on Alira and informs her: "You seem to be in perfect condition. The phaser beam has not caused any lasting damage."
Lisa lets out a relieved sigh and hugs Alira one more time, just for a second this time, then she gets up from the ground and offers her hand for Alira to get up as well.
Jun 14, 2019 5:38 am
Alira takes the hand and is very careful not to pull Lisa to the ground.

Thank you.

She brushes off her uniform.

Let's get those smeg heads.

OOC:
kona, in the interest of just moving things forward, we'll skip over your reply to Mars for now. When you're online, just respond and we'll pretend that conversation happened before the next bit :)

Mars nods at Alira. "I'm glad you are well, Lieutenant. From what I've seen so far, we can be happy to have you on the case with us." Mars gathers the spacefleet members, excluding Nic and Vega as they are civilians (and possibly Zephyr, if he wants to stay with Vega) as well as Lisa since she is still a cadet. Julia and Theliak are leaving the garden at this point, accompanied by a doctor and two security officers. Julia says again that she will be back as soon as Theliak is confirmed to be out of danger. When they are gone, Mars summarizes the situation:
"Alright, so including the kidnapping here, we are counting a total of four simultaneous terrorist attacks on planet.
Endra Learse, the woman responsible for the attempted hover transport theft and the previous attack on Lt. Vitan, together with some unidentified people, has broken into our holding cells, injuring and stunning five security officers, then breaking out and kidnapping the cadets we were holding there.
A second group of terrorists has attacked a pub in town, firing phasers at the guests and causing a panic. We have one reported death and twenty injuries, ranging from negligible to life threatening.
Finally, a bomb has destroyed large parts of the ski resort on the north-eastern part of the island. No casualties there as the area was abandoned at the time of the attack.
We have been unable to determine any connection between these incidents, any kind of motive that would tie them together but four terrorist attacks at the same time - that can't be a coincidence. We have put in a request for backup from spacefleet. I assume we have received a response by now but I will have to get back to my office to look at it."
Jun 14, 2019 5:56 pm
These guys are serious.

Do you have phaser for those of us who are unarmed.
Jun 14, 2019 6:02 pm
Moira nods at Mars in genuine appreciation. This is worse than she thought. Yet somehow, also not surprising.

Ah guess it's a good thing we stepped in. No way they could handle all 'a that at once.

Moira starts tapping on her datapad.

Thank yeh. Lieutenant. Ah'm sorry yeh've been so busy. Ah've always envied assignments like this. Do yeh know anything about tha woman? Any history tha Consortium knows of? Motive would be helpful ta discern.
OOC:
She's going to look Endra up on the datapad. Prepared because she has it, but not expert, since she's only a Lt. Commander.

Zeph immediately pipes up, I request we keep Vega involved with the investigation rather than placing her under arrest. At least for now. Her particular...talents may come in handy. He looks at Mars with requisite professionalism.
Later, after being pulled aside and listening to the briefing, he summarizes them.

A hover transport theft, kidnapping of cadets, phaser fire in a pub resulting in death and injuries, and a bombing of an abandoned area. There has to be some sort of connection, but it sure doesn't seem apparent. The latter two could have been nothing more than distractions I guess. Maybe the cadets were the real target?

Vega situation

Mars hesitates, thinking his options over, then says: "We will discuss the matter of her involvement once this situation is resolved. Until then, you will be personally responsible for her and you will be held accountable if she flees the planet without permission. If she can help us in this investigation, that will be taken into consideration for her potential trial."

Everyone

"We have no relevant information on Ms. Learse. In fact, there is no information on her available. Apparently, she has never been in conflict with the Consortium before now." He considers Zephyr's idea. "It's true that some of these attacks, especially the bombs, might have just been distractions, meant to keep us busy. The real targets might have been the kidnapped cadets and most likely your missing crew members as well. But why go through all this trouble for some cadets? We should talk to the accompanying academy professors. Maybe they can tell us more about them and why someone would want to take them."
Jun 14, 2019 10:07 pm
Cadets have codes. They have access to certain areas. I hope you are tracking their ID cards and codes to see if they sign in anywhere. Don't block them, just flag them. If they are blocked, it might spook them and more people might get hurt.
Jun 15, 2019 6:13 am
"That is true but their codes should not extend beyond spacefleet academy. That would indicate that the terrorists are planning to attack Earth next", Mars says.
"One more reason to speak to the professors Vitan. Lieutenant, maybe you can do that for us?", he suggests, looking at Alira.
He turns to Moira. "We have search teams patrolling the forests and CC1 is scanning for life forms as well but we haven't picked anything up yet. They might be disguising their vital signs from our scanners. I don't see what else we can do until help from spacefleet arrives."
Jun 15, 2019 6:28 am
I think the replicator information might be our best bet.

Alira sighs.

How much information can I give my mother? Give me a list of names and I will contact her. If there is anything that connects them, other than the obvious, mother will figure it out.
Jun 15, 2019 6:35 am
"I will inform my people to keep a close eye on all replicator logs on planet. You can tell her everything we know, she outranks both of us. I will send the files on both abducted cadets to you immediately when I get back to my office."
Jun 15, 2019 6:50 am
I will talk to her, but I believe most likely taken to stop them from telling us what they know.
Jun 15, 2019 11:41 pm
Alira takes her data pad and steps away from the remnants of the party. She finds a quiet spots, takes a few deep breaths to prepare herself, and calls her mother.

Hello mother, it's Alira.

No, I am fine mother.

Well, yes, I guess I am involved in all the craziness going on. That's why I am calling. We need your help..

As I am sure you know two cadets who were being held by security have been broken out by the same people who have perpetrated terrorist acts tonight.

I was hoping that you could give me any and all information on these two cadets.

Drenala takes a long time to pick up and answer your comm. When her face appears on the screen, she looks tired and not as perfectly groomed as she usually is. She still goes through the expected routine with you, small talk about how you are, subtle digs at your choice of profession... When the conversation lands on the cadets, she frowns. "I am here at the security office right now. This is a disaster, Alira. Maybe you can help find my poor students. It is your chosen career after all, despite my recommendations for literally anything else." She listens to your question and says: "I can't think of much that can be of any help. The students that have been abducted are called Chad Prowler and Thea Yorke. They are friends, according to some rumors I've heard they might be more than that. They will both graduate from the academy after this semester with above average but not amazing grades. They like to bend or ignore rules wherever they can but not excessively more than just any other cadet. There is just nothing I can think of that would make them a target over any of the other cadets, dear. You can of course look at their files but I doubt you will find anything there."
Jun 16, 2019 4:36 pm
Moira nods in response to Mars as Alira calls her mother.

So we’re scannin’, an’ we’re waitin’ fer reinforcements. Admittedly, a decent plan. What a mess. So yeh have tha other places that were attacked on lockdown? Ah dunnae think tha emotional comfort of tha guests needs ta be a priority anymore.

"We are escorting people back to their accommodations where they will stay for the time being. Currently, nobody can move around the island without being accompanied by security. Once backup arrives, we will have to think about evacuating them but I don't want any of the terrorists to get away so for now, the transporters on CC1 have been shut down. Nobody is getting on or off this planet."
