Eldrog was cleaning up the last of the tables for the night. It was another successful evening, well, in Eldrog's perspective. The Ale he has been working on over the past 3 months has improved. At first everyone who drank it eventually became sick and vomited all over the place, now, tonight, only 3 people had indigestion. I do believe I am getting the hang of this brew. He brought the empty mugs up to the counter for the Barmaid Tranana to wash. As he stood at the Bar, he overheard 2 travelers talking.
Have you heard about the new mines near Saltmarsh? I am headed that way myself, hoping to sell a load of tools I scavenged form an old mine. Should be able to make a pretty penny.
No I haven't. Was there a deposit found?
I don't know for sure but, I heard King Skotti himself has commissioned the mine, there has to be something there.
Eldrog couldn't just stand there. He had been here cleaning tables and floors (granted the floor part was because his Ale made people sick) and he wanted to get back out. If there was a new mine, then the ore coming out would need guards. Much better job than bar wench. Excuse me Sir, I couldn't help but overhear that you were traveling to Slatmarsh for a new mine. I am looking for better employment and I offer my Shield to help protect you on your travels. In exchange I ask only for transportation to these new mines.
The one who had mentioned the mines looks at the Dwarf and seems to be considering the idea. Well, I do have a full wagon and a solo trip through the Dreadwood Forrest is not a great idea. Do you have any fighting experience?
I was in the Principality of Ulek Infantry during the Great war. I have never run from a fight.
Very well my little friend, I leave at first light. He got up held out his hand and they shook on it.
Standing just inside the Kitchen was Pandon, as Eldrog turned he saw him and they both nodded to each other. They had an agreement that this would only be a temporary arrangement and frankly, Pandon was ok with Eldrog leaving. Hopefully he would be able to get a proper Brewmaster in and serve good ale.
