Player and character introductions.

Introduce yourself here. The only 'required' information is whether you are familiar with Knights of the Old Republic as a setting, what your general character concepts are and how much help you need with the Feng Shui system. Remember, each player should have both a Padawan -and- a knight/master and you cannot be your own pairing. That would be dumb.

So, because I'm going to be a player too, I will start and introduce my characters.

Knight Nathan Kaine is a giant of a man. He is a human who is 1.98 meters tall (about 6'6). Despite this, he is known to be calm and kind, very rarely showing even irritation. He is, however, a man of uncompromising standards and discipline.

Padawan Ian Maxwell is a contradiction. A reckless troublemaker and prankster he nonetheless shows great focus and self discipline. While not having much of a temper he is almost completely hardwired to disobey, as if by compulsion. Whoever ends up his master will actually be his third, the previous two having given up on him.

Jaeden is a floppy, goofy, and inherently greedy child. Her redeeming quality is that for some reason, she has force sensitivity in a universe full of far more pious individuals deserving of responsibility and a sense of connection.

Jo'anna is a kind knight with only a secret adoration of pranks and mischief. Whomever she ends up mentoring will be her first and she already has drawers upon drawers worth of files stored in her data pad on self help manuals on how to lead and inspire. Is it eagerness to start padawans on the right path? Is it because she senses she will need all the references she can get? It's up in the air.

Bikbik'da'nuba is one of few Jawa jedi who has accomplished Mastery of the Jedi Arts. His adept pantomimes and telepathy make up for his inability to speak intelligibly, and his satisfaction and frustration are easily communicated to his padawans. He is a disciplined and able teacher despite challenges regarding both his size and ability to communicate.

Ikikie (i-kee-kee-ay) is one of few force sensitive wookiees, and the only female in history. She is shy and quiet, with a very even temper, but can be volatile when she witnesses bullying.

I have played Knights of the Old Republic, but don't necessarily remember, and will need all the help with the Feng Shui system.

Tomo is a Zabrak that has always been a gifted lightsaber user. With a stern yet fair gaze, he is a go-to instructor in the more combat oriented skills.

Kalmos Leamerc is a human child with a inquisitive nature that's got him into his fair share of trouble. Mix that with being a force sensitive and he's developed a need for exploring every inch of the academy.

Andan Dromo is a Mirialan Jedi Knight known for both his skill at negotiation and capability as a warrior. He has already trained two padawan, and the geometric tattoos covering the light green skin of his chest, arms and face tell of his prowess in battle as well as his successful non-violent adjudication of countless conflicts. Although he has a reputation for being stoic and stone-faced, he has a subtle sense of humor that many miss due misunderstanding him and his deadpan delivery.

Dela Minn is a nimble Twi'lek padawan who seems to excel at getting into trouble. If there is a question, she must have the answer, even if that answer lies in the private chambers of a Senator, a misadventure with political ramifications that nearly had her cast out of the Jedi Order. Her inability to refuse a dare led to her last master abandoning her training and leaving her at the temple to find a new master.

I played the original KotOR waaaaay back when, but I've never played Feng Shui, and will probably require help with the system.

Master Skava Bron is a Pau'an with a coldly logical approach to life. She is seeks to find balance in both the letter and spirit of the law and live in that gap. She does however have an extreme fondness for non-sentient animal life and can often be found communing with them in natural settings.

Padawan Canis is a Shistavanen orphan. Her parents were merchants and some of the few Shistavanen willing to deal with off-world species. Their ship crashed on a (near)human planet and she was the only survivor. It took six months for the humans to find any relatives, but when they tried to contact them, they rejected Canis as tainted by the humans. She was tested soon after for force sensitivity and was adopted by the Jedi officially. Canis is still young and struggles to control her predator tendencies still.

I apologize for not putting this in my earlier posts. I'm familiar with the setting, I played both KOTOR games..waay to many times. I am however a new player to the Feng Shui setting.

Oh right....me too.

I have not played Feng Shui...but listened to some actual play podcasts that used it.

As for the KOTOR Lore...I'd say I have a noob's level of knowledge. I won't be winning any trivia contests but I can say I'm comfortable with my level of knowledge.

Hi, I'm pretty much identical to everyone else. Never played Feng Shui, played KOTOR 1 and 2. I read through the rules and they seem really simple once you get out of chargen.

Anyways, I'd like to play Veria Kaapel as my knight character. I would like Veria to be an overachiever who passed the trials for Knighthood by virtue of being a giant nerd and studying all the time. She is poor at combat but is good at Farseeing, though her main focus is archeology and studying ancient force user traditions and relics. Oh, and human.

For a Padawan, I am going to make Zelgrave Guray. A young man that appears near-human but his skin is hard and possibly disfigured. He is going to be angry, easily frustrated and seem to have an axe to grind. Whoever ends up his master will get to know more of his backstory.

Hi, I have played Feng Shui before but have never played KOTOR, however I have absorbed a lot of Star Wars lore via friend-osmosis lol.

I'm going to play Dynnyana Catalia as my knight character. If it's ok, I would like her to have been a Wild Force User, marauding around as basically a bounty-hunter or a mercenary, until she was found at the age of maybe 19-23? Convinced to give the Jedi a chance, she found the life a happier one and continued her training until she became a knight at 29. (if it's not ok, I have other ideas I could use for a knight)

My padawan character will be Alyx Shale, a zabrak girl of 15-17 who was abandoned about ten years ago to the Jedi. She has a very solid disposition, with a sense of humor but a very long fuse. However, once her fury has been awoke, she is hard to restrain.

Imma just ask. How we deciding pairing? Random dice roll or do we gotta, egads, actually pick each other out. Because I volunteer Jaeden to be last pick if that's the case. She's funner to play as the jilted last pick. 😂
May 27, 2019 7:11 pm
We can probably start figuring that out now. I say people should have a say in it. When Anakin got Ahsoka dumped on him without warning it was a joke. Like an actual joke, not a metaphorical one. So let's start having that conversation.
May 27, 2019 7:12 pm
That is a good question. I'm not sure how I feel about it right now.
May 27, 2019 7:22 pm
Like, I'm not too concerned with whom either of my characters get tied up with. One just wants to be paired with the most attractive person in the room. The other considers herself everyone's momma hen and she gotta help everyone + extra babysitting her own.

I'd say if people have a strong attraction to one individual they can but for those of us who want a lotto, we can just give each available pada and mast a number. and then whomever the winning number is, they're the prize. Then we renumber and go!

I think Cep100 should just assign them. He'll know what pairings are going to get the best story results.

strumdaddy says:

I like that idea!

That is a lot of faith in me but I'll do my best, lol. Alright, well it would help if I knew how all the Padawans were shitty at being Jedi and what all the Masters are best at handling.

BikBik is near everyone's last choice as a Jedi Master. He does not demonstrably excel at any one thing, is not famous, and rarely displays his prowess, but all of his padawans, even the most unlikely, seem to become powerful Jedi Knights. He seems to have nothing going for him, except that he does not give up on his Padawans, and often is innovative when teaching them. He was the Underdog once, and his Master did not give up on him, and he's paying it forward. (He's the special-ed Jedi master!)

Ikikie has trouble relying on the force, her physical strength hinders her acceptance to turning to the force as a solution.

Dela Minn, twi’lek padawan, lacks patience and the ability to let things be. She is impulsive, brash, and headstrong, and her go to resolution for avoiding conflict is to user her speed and agility.

Jedi Knight Andan Dromo is patient and precise, buts come across as severe due to his heavy reliance on combat drills and meditative practice. Any padawan who needs to take time out to focus on form and breathing over excessive action would benefit from his mentorship.
