OOC:
That might be a good idea. I honestly expected less enthusiasm. Most of the games on here seem to be a lot slower. And I did see Lark's thing, I was just preparing something for him that's a little more in depth. Also, congratulations on rolling the first Critical, Lark. It was for Fortune, read below to find out if it was a Critical Success or Failure.
OOC:
It's nice to see an active big group! :D And it's kinda... interesting that a first crit comes up on Fortune, of all things? Thanks for giving Lark something to do! He'll try not to cause much chaos. XD
(...and actually, I meant Charlie trying to chat with the Captain as a missed thing, but that was just a minor attempt some posts back. :D)
Lark stares in amazement at the wonders of engineering right here, before his eyes, revealed like a dream come true. He let's out an excited sound, catching confused glances of some of the staff passing by, and barely keeps enough presence of mind to hold on from getting inside immediately. He've seen the schematics, even holograms, but it's the first time he's gotten so close to an actual fusion generator of this size, and the hyperdrive, and the engines - all of it is just beautiful. If only he could actually get closer, without getting anyone in trouble... He might be too enthusiastic at times, but safety protocols do exist for a reason, and professional solidarity is a thing!

Almost vidrating with glee and grinning happily, each few seconds turning his gaze back at the doors, the Padawan looks around, trying to figure out the most approachable - and not busy - crewman around. Someone who looks like they have authority to invite a Jedi for a quick tour in a sector like Main Engineering, or maybe just a friendly mechanic who needs a hand. A guard? There seems to be some around...
OOC:
Can I use Perception or Intelligence to look for someone to charm into letting Lark inside? :D (They both are 7 for me.)

While zambar doing the objective that his new mast gave he found Lark "hi lark what are doing here"
Jun 29, 2019 3:33 pm
The double door of Main Engineering opens and a Devaronian woman walks out into the corridor. She narrows her eyes, scowling at Lark and Zambar, pointed teeth pulled back in a grimace. She scratches at her chin with long, almost claw-like fingernails as she glares down at the two students. "Jedi children, what are you doing here?" Her voice is raspy and, quite frankly, sounds a little evil to the human ear. "Are you lost?"
Jun 29, 2019 4:39 pm
Lark waves at Zambar in greeting, too focused on finding a target for his mission to explain the idea to the other student in detail. "Just looking around the ship," he offers, as he scans the surroundings. "But how exactly are *you* here?... Nevermind, incoming!" He perks up as he notices the Devaronian heading towards them and steps forward, putting on his best charming expression.
"Good day, miss! We aren't lost - in fact, I was specifically looking for this part of the ship!" Lark gestures at the doors of Main Engineering. "You see, I'm deeply interested in the inner workings of starships, and was hoping someone from The Boundless' would be willing to show me around! Just a quick tour," Lark looks at her like a picture of innocence. "I wouldn't want to disturb the crew by investigating myself, and it is always insightful to listen to a professional!"
Jun 29, 2019 4:49 pm
She arches an eyebrow at Lark, frowning sharply. Her teeth are visible over her lips, pointed and sharp, like a carnivore. "We're about to launch. And I'm not a tour guide." Her eyes narrow to sharp, beady slits as she hisses at Lark and Zambar. "I'm," she introduces herself with a name that sounds like a animal dying in pain. "Most humans call me 'Debbie'. If I sit you down in a observation chair will you stay put until someone comes to collect you both?"
Jun 29, 2019 5:05 pm
"Well i have an order from my new master he wants me to explore around the boundless and memorize it a kind of training i guess"
Jun 29, 2019 5:13 pm
'Debbie' hisses again. "Of course he does." She makes a low, growling sound in her throat, "Either stick to the corridors or join the other kid here and sit in Main Engineering and -watch- without touching and getting in the way. I'd call the captain but I'm sure he's playing host to your 'masters' right now." Putting her red skinned hands on her hips she turns to head back into Main Engineering. "Your choice but either way, don't bother anyone working for a living."
Jun 29, 2019 5:23 pm
"well ok i will stick to the corridors i don't make a first bad impression to my new master and plus i don"t have my book now"
Jun 29, 2019 6:58 pm
"Thank you, miss Debbie, I'd love a chance to observe the launch proceedings! I will do my best to not be a bother!" Lark hurries to follow after her, happy to have an actual pass into the engineering sector. He idly wonders about Debbie's rank, scanning her uniform for any identification, but doesn't focus on it much, his attention already shifting to the perspective of seeing the work of the reactors and engines during the launch. If he is lucky, it'll also be a while until anyone realizes he is here.
As they part their ways with Zambar, Lark smiles at the other Padawan: "Good luck with your new assignment! Exploration, I guess? I'm pretty sure I won't remember how to get back to the entrance from here, this ship's a maze. Anyway, see ya later then!" He waves quickly and moves to catch up with Debbie.

Merrick watched his new padawan set off on his task. Merrick felt a little bad for setting the bar as high as he did for Zambar, but then he remembered Master Fel's first lesson to him about patience. Merrick had wanted to strangle the old Wee'quay.

Master Fel had sat Merrick in a bare room with nothing but a bottle. He instructed Merrick to evacuate the oxygen from the bottle molecule by molecule until it was a vacuum inside the bottle. Once he completed that, he was expected to refill the bottle with oxygen; again, molecule by molecule.

He'd spent the first day climbing the walls and screaming. The second day was much the same; and the third. By the fourth day, hunger began to become an issue. Merrick was forced to employ Jedi meditation to deal with the pains wracking his gut.

This led him to find his center. By the fifth day, he'd begun sorting out how to focus on the oxygen molecules in the room and how they interacted with one another and the other elements in the air. By day six, he had begun the exercise.

By Day 10, he had managed to empty the bottle. It took him another three days to fill it back up. When he had placed the last molecule in the bottle, Master Fel entered the room and graced Merrick with one of his rare smiles.

"Well done, padawan" ,Master Fel said, "what took you so long?"

Merrick had laughed and laughed until he passed out...

Merricks thoughts returned to the present. Zambar was not him. The togruta already seemed to have a well-disciplined mind. The challenge for him, Merrick thought, would be awareness.

The task he had set for Zambar was difficult but not impossible. If he really applied himself, he would be able to have a complete picture of the ship burned into his mind. That was the foundation of the skill set Merrick wanted to build in Zambar to start. Being able to take a complete mental snapshot of an area with perfect memory allowed one to use any environment to one's advantage.

Merrick's thoughts moved to another subject: Dynnyana. Seeing her in the conference room was completely unexpected. The last time they had seen one another was on Nal Hutta.

Merrick had been working for a Hutt named Baga in loss prevention which was a nice way of saying "leg breaker." Dynnyana had been working as a mercenary. After they had worked a few jobs together, Merrick began to notice her connection to the Force.

Slowly at first, Merrick began to coax Dynnyana into awareness of what she could do. When they parted company, she had said she was getting out of the merc business and going to find the Jedi. It would seem she was as good as her word.

Merrick decided now was as good a time as any to catch up.

zambar finally find his way out of the same corridor and reaches the exit of the ship but to be sure that he can fulfill his task he goes and enter the ship again

Charlie strolls through the ship corridors, exchanging passing words with some of the crew and looking for the training grounds. As he comes by a wide window, he stops to look outside, at the busy port: mountains of cargo crates, droids zipping past, other ships going through repairs or preparing to take off. Coruscant is a city that never sleeps, energy flowing in its metaphorical veins. It was certainly nice to stay here, but already the Jedi Master feels hints of excitement at the thought of plunging back into the wilder parts of space. He never was one to have roots, anyway.

West stays like this for few minutes, observing the routine of the starport and thinking back on all the ports he visited, the stars and the planets he's seen. It will be curious to visit Arkania - although part of him wishes he could go back to being a brute force somewhere on the front lines. And he most certainly doesn't look forward to teaching any kids; no matter how talented. Charlie chuckles as he thinks about the display on the landing platform: at least if his Padawan is anything like Maxwell - or the kids that stood up against him, - it will be entertaining. (But he is still not going to search for his student, thank you.)

As he keeps to the window, he contemplates waiting here until launch. He likes the feeling of the start of the journey. A new adventure, dangerous - or even not much, - is a rush of adrenaline. Charlie probably stuck on Coruscant for too long, if even the idea of an Academy brings such an impression...

Zambar goes through the ship for the second time and goes for his new master and says for him "I finished exploring the ship i finished the objective that you gave me"

Crossing into Engineering, Lark is treated to a first hand view of the heart of a starship. Organics and droids work side by side on final preparations. A human approaches 'Debbie', passing her a datapad and saying, "Chief, we're ready. Everything is in order."

With a curt nod the Devaronian shoves the pad back at the human male's chest after a quick skim of it. "Good. I'll let the bridge know." She glances back with a predatory grin at Lark, "Get the kid a seat while we wait for someone to collect him."

The dark-skimmed human gives her a quick salute even though she ignores him completely before saying to Lark, "I'm Specialist 3rd class Kormick." He gives Lark a much friendlier smile as he gestures to a station nearby, "Have a seat at my station, but don't touch any controls, okay?" He waves for Lark to follow him.

"Is that cool with you errick" while Steef looks like he doesn't like training padawans he loves it but he just wants to be a good master to them

Errad returned Steef's gaze evenly.

"Please forgive me, but I was raised in the Temple. I am not used to being informal. I find the training schedule acceptable, Mas...please, how should I refer to you?"

schwales says:
On her way up, Lillian encounters a young woman in grey robes who honestly only appears to be about nineteen or so. Her smile is kind and warm and her clasped hands make her look even more sweet and innocent. Long, white hair cascades loosely down her shoulders, "Lillian Heeks? I'm Knight Kaapel. I'm really excited to meet you. I looked up all your test scores and I'm really happy to have you as my first Padawan." When Knight Kaapel speaks the tone is almost syrupy sweet. There's no hint of condescension, she just really seems to be treating Lillian like she's eight instead of fifteen. It's especially ironic since she only appears a few years older than Lillian herself.
Lillian bows to the woman before her. "Greetings Master Kaapel. Thank you for the compliments. I will do my best to learn from you." While she is courteous in her greeting, Lillian seems to have trouble with eye contact and fidgets with her hands while speaking.

"Well you can refer to me as you want and you didn't do something wrong to for me to forgive you"

Nightghoul16 says:
"Who said anything about reverse psychology? I only thought that you wanted to perform for everyone." Eventually they find a steward. "Ian Maxwell here is checking in."

After getting confirmation Zatee begins to lead him further into the ship. "Come along I'll show you to your quarters" Being a bit of a prankster from his youth Zatee already took the liberty of finding his Padawan's room beforehand and kindly short sheeting his bed for him.
"Well, that's right kindly of ya. I just didn' wanna be rude 'cause y'seem like a alright guy." He glances into the room, turns on the lights and on the bed is a collection of bags and . . . luggage? Jedi are not supposed to have material possessions but this Padawan seems ready to move into a college dorm. "Well, here's hopin' y'just quietly give up. I am -not- emotionally prepared for'a repeat'a my last master." He looks away but his features darken in irritation. His presence in the Force couldn't be said to darken so much as 'complain', like a cat being forced to take a bath.
