So, as I'm sure everyone can tell, having all characters in one thread is a little crowded. I'd like to break up the Boundless voyage to Arkania as well as introduce some things.

Different Locations: Boundless - Padawan Quarters, Boundless - Master/Knight Quarters, Boundless - Engineering, Boundless - Bridge. I don't want things to get complicated by adding too much but I also don't want them to be complicated by adding too little. What does everyone think about this?

Group Studies: Another way to pair down the number of characters in a scene is to have one teach run a class for all the Padawans. This would be on a volunteer basis and not required. Lessons could be anything from history to philosophy to sparring matches.

Other thoughts?

I'm all in for the separated threads! It's easy to miss things like characters coming and going when everyone's together. You can probably add some place where it will make sense for anyone to cross paths, like a Cafeteria? And, on behalf of Charlie, I ask for Training Grounds. We need a dedicated space to test our fighting! :D (But then again, if we won't spend much time on the Boundless, there might not be the need for all these places. Are we going to spend much time on Chapter 1?)

The group studies sound good too! Although having one teacher and 5+ students will be a bit cramped, maybe separate them in groups of three students each with a teacher or two?

I am definitely good with the separate threads. I am especially liking the group lessons. Tormenting padawan seems to be right up Merrick's alley, lol.

I'm good with separate thread's but if anything in the story needs us to be in the same thread

We're not going to be spending too much time on the Boundless for this leg of the journey, only a week. But the Boundless is going to be the only hyperdrive capable ship that group will have access to so any action taking place off Arkania will necessarily involve it. I'll make some threads for different locations. And breaking things down with less students might be good but then are we running 2 or 3 versions of the same training exercise?

Let's say everyone wants to take Charlie's 'How to backhand your opponent' class, you'd have to run it multiple times if we're maxing out at 3 students each version. How about we leave it up to the people running the class? Have as many students as you feel comfortable with? Everyone who's interested put up their idea here. I'll put up one for Nathan here as an example. When putting up your training class remember that the Jedi don't own Boundless, they're guests and the Republic has assigned the ship to work with them.

Instructor: Nathan Kaine
Class Type: Lightsaber combat training
Twist or Detail: The students will use wooden weapons to avoid serious injury. The weapons will count as clubs (Strength +3). Additionally, the students will be paired up and fight in teams of two. Three hits on a single opponent means they're 'out'.

I was thinking more along the lines of facultative classes - I really doubt that Lilian or Errad, for example, will be interesting in backhanding any opponents, so it will naturally reduce the number of students. XD We can probably schedule these classes so there're always only one at the same time, and let students choose whether or not they want to go to each one. (Excluding, of course, a certain amount of obligatory ones.) It will also give time for teachers to rest when it's not their time to pour knowledge into the minds?

Just letting you know I'm still here, watching. :D
...Because I have no idea what to do with Lark or Charlie - one is waiting on a response (I guess, should I just improvise without waiting?), and the other is waiting on a ship launch. Does anyone here want some interaction with a friendly axe guy? XD

I believe Steef is currently teaching Errad, though? But I certainly can impose on your training session if you and mcinnis138 both don't mind Charlie crashing the party. :D

Well technically steef I blindfolding errad and leaving him to learn for him self so he is free I guess

I more meant structured classes rather than impromptu things like that. But I'm not going to stand in the way of you guys setting up your own things.
Jul 6, 2019 9:03 pm
I am good with both. I think Steef's and Errad's thread disappeared. I was looking for it, but now I can't find it.
Jul 6, 2019 9:09 pm
That's . . . . Not good. I didn't move anything. I'll take a look and if I can't find it I'll contact the admin.

I might have just missed it. It has been a busy week.

A GM from my other game mentioned the subforum bug (in this thread), maybe it's the reason, even though it's not a subforum? Although I can't seem to find any missing threads by going through links manually. (I vaguely recall that Steef replied in Hangar, but I might be incorrect.)
CESN says:

* First, and just to let you know, there's a subforum bug that limits them to 4 or 5 (the others are there, you just don't see them, so you may want to have a welcome thread linking to all games if you're going for a lot of games).
Also, I'm fine with structured classes! :D I can deal with a full class, was just getting worried that it'll be chaotic. But if students are separated into partners inside class, it might just be fine!

And I'll join Steef later then, when I'll write next entry of Charlie's ship wandering. XD

I have a weird question

Is the old masters of our padwan character our master characters or not ??

Jul 7, 2019 8:43 pm
For some people it is but we had a number of people leave and so the pairings are a little weird. I'm going to say that we should pair up whoever' available, really.
Jul 7, 2019 8:45 pm
But that didn't answer who is the old masters of our padwan characters
Jul 7, 2019 10:26 pm
What about taking multiple padawans if there is an imbalance? That is a possible solution.

Sorry Steef, I'm not sure what you mean then. Before this most students would have been trained in a group and not assigned a single teacher. Ian is an exception because he's older and a failure, lol.
Jul 8, 2019 2:13 am
Ok thanks cep 100
Jul 14, 2019 2:05 pm
Does anyone know if Nightghoul is still around? I've had Veria waiting for a while. If she ends up not having a Padawan, that's totally fine. She doesn't really deserve one anyways having been a Knight for less than a year.
Jul 14, 2019 3:10 pm
II have sent a message asking after them. I'll update you as needed. Thanks.
Jul 14, 2019 3:46 pm
Hey, Cep, can you do something about a crit Steef did last turn? I believe the crits are the field of GM? :D (Telling you here just in case you missed it happening!)
Jul 14, 2019 3:58 pm
Well, to a certain extent, yes. Something amazing happens. I'll move this over there.
Jul 16, 2019 11:54 pm
Hey guys, so I had an idea. I think we should have a facebook group where we can all talk and comment on stuff. It's a bit better laid out for discussions than the forum here is, and we can also do livechat so questions and answers can be solved faster. I will name it Jedi Academy, but I would need your guys Facebook names. If you want to join, let me know!

Unfortunately, I am not on Facebook. I am a Public Safety Officer and it is a professional liability for me.

Jul 17, 2019 10:31 am
Sorry, but it's a hard no from me on Facebook question (and Discord, and pretty much any other social network/chat platform). I very much prefer just keeping it on one forum. But I wouldn't mind if you have a group, of course, I don't mind not being included. I have weird online times anyway, few chances that I'll be able to participate much. XD
Jul 17, 2019 10:53 am
i'm good with discord and facebook but not other social medias
Jul 17, 2019 2:59 pm
Hmm, I wonder then if the creator here would be willing to put a chat system and a poll system in. That's what I really wanted to use Facebook for.... They seem nice, so I think I will ask. I don't think it would be that difficult since many can be found "pre-coded"....
Jul 17, 2019 10:17 pm
A poll system already exists though?.. :D
Jul 18, 2019 3:33 am
I will have to look into that, then. I haven't seen a poll mechanic. Where would one find it?
Jul 18, 2019 9:42 pm
We have chat here?! I never knew....

I'm not sure since I never ran a game here, but one of the games I'm in had a poll in a thread. I've also found an old thread about deleting polls (here), but nothing about how to make one. I suppose it should be somewhere in the GM controls? (I can ask the GM who used it, if you want! :D)

Okay, there seems to be considerable support for a holomovie being RPed through, so I had an idea. Everyone who's interested, send me an answer to the following questions as a private message. Do not discuss them amongst yourself or work for any kind of cohesiveness. All the answers will be included in the final description of the holomovie. All of them. Again, send your answers confidentially to me and I'll mash them all together.

1: What is the genre of the holomovie?
2: Who stars in the holomovie?
3: What is the grossest part of the holomovie?
4: What is the coolest part of the holomovie?
5: Why is the holomovie appropriate for children?
6: Why is it -not- appropriate for children?
7: How is the antagonist defeated?
8: Is the movie Good, Good-Bad or Bad-Bad?

Make it all up, man. And send it to me in PM so it's secret. I'm going to just mash it all together in a horrible mess and then describe it for everyone.

Use your imagination and just make stuff up. There are no wrong answers.

Sorry I didn't get here sooner. I think this is a cool idea, but it's a bit overwhelming. I think whoever picked the movie would have tried to get "Space: The Sound of Music" or something cute for kids. Something overly mushy and unrealistic, but also showing evil "vanquished" by running away. In fact I think the Sound of Music would really mesh with the naive culture of the Jedi at various stages of their existence.

This is so perfectly spot on. I'm loling quietly to myself while I wait for my to-go order.

I mean, Bevik had never even heard of a 'movie' - but actually now that I'm thinking of it, this group of characters is ubiquitous. The Order has its 'fringe' personalities so this could be something odd and fun.

I'm not making my point very well. Trying to get food home to the fam. But I'll admit, I'm a sucker for anonymous questionnaires so I'm in! Lulz
Aug 20, 2019 11:57 am
...but I already listed the movies that Charlie has! If you want movies that don't involve axes, you gotta bring these yourselves. XD I kinda hoped you all will pick the Jedi Order romantic comedy! Or at least will be baffled by its existence.

But seriously, I tried with these names, gimme a cookie. :P

Cep, I just edited around your most recent post to date.
I thought it was pretty refreshing to read a few paragraphs all at once, tbh. So thanks!

So, I hate to do this but I think we should put the game on pause for a while. I've been speaking with a number of players and they're either not interested in going forward/making characters or they've gotten too busy with RL. I've tried to keep ahead of the player churn but it's gotten kind of ridiculous at this point. I'd like to try again and pick up from the arrival at Arkania when I can guarantee a stable cast of characters. Sorry everybody. I'm going to take responsibility on this one, apparently the system was a bit of a larger barrier than I thought it would be and the idea of having everyone trade master/student characters between players didn't work out and resulted in a lot of broken pairs.

When I can build up an active player base and guarantee some stability, I'll try again and those of you still interested can just jump in with the same continuity. Thanks, everybody.
Sep 30, 2019 3:46 pm
It's understandable that many people drop games during autumn time, and it's far from the only game that suffered. And more importantly, it's really not your fault, Cep! The system might be a problem for some, but I imagine most players just don't have time to commit right now. And I loved the idea of mixed pairs, it sounded great! :D Even if it did cause some problems when people started to leave.

And I don't think one can ever know if they built a stable playerbase until said playerbase actually plays through few months. It seems to be a common occurence for newly joined players to drop out very quickly (I believe almost all of the games I'm in had it happen at least once, in fact). So don't feel like it's a failure or anything, it's just normal here! :D

Give me a poke when we start again! (Charlie will just exercise until we restart, and Lark seems to have detoured towards the engineering wing again. XD)

Ps: and also, if you ever want to make something of a sub-adventure - like these solo quests before Arkania one, except maybe for two-three characters? - I'd love to join! Wink-wink.

Lol, I'll let you know. It's too bad, I thought Feng Shui would really take off what with how simple it was compared to FFG and even the 5e conversion, but you're probably right.

Hope this does start up again soon -
