OOC:
If an RP involves the engineering sections, equipment warehouses or maintenance tunnels it should go here.

I'll just repost here to point out Lark's location. :D
Do actions that happen somewhere in an unspecified location on the Boundless go into the main thread?
FlyingSucculent says:
"Sounds like great workplace environment," Lark peers at the controls from behind Kormick, attempting not to get in the way and at the same time see as much as he can. "I'll appreciate if you ask her. Are these controls at all similar to the starfighter's, or of any other smaller ship? What does this do?" He points to one of the buttons on the panel.

I was thinking that, yes. That way the thread doesn't automatically die.
The call for engines to come to full power rolls through the engineering section like a wave. Crewmen repeat it a few times in each section, a cascade that brings them all to a unified front. The thrum of the generators and power plants of the Boundless howl with power as the main reactor seems to almost crackle with energy. In fact it does as the main observation port, though heavily tinted to protect biological eyes, allows Lark to see the fusion reaction taking place inside the chamber. He knows that the reactor walls are more there to keep the heat contained, rather than the reaction itself which is conducted inside a magnetic bottle. Still, this is his first time seeing a fusion reactor this size this close. The tint colors the view of the inside taking it from a bright white to a searing gold, a miniature star held in the heart of the starship.

"Engineering, this is the bridge, we're bringing main sublight online."

Lark can hear the call from where he sits and watches as 'Debbie' hits a comm button. "Copy, bridge. Sublight and main hyperdrive is available." She clicks off the comm and a few scattered bits of applause echo around Main Engineering causing the Devaronian to look up with a sharp-toothed scowl. "Oh, yes, congratulate yourselves on not fucking up a launch. Get back to work." Apparently she is -that- kind of boss.

"This was beautiful," Lark breathes out, his eyes still on the fusion reactor. "I wish I could work here." He winces. "I mean, being Jedi is an honor and everything, and I do want to protect people, but... Ah well, I'm just thinking aloud!" Lark grins and turns to Kormick, now that the engineer is less busy. "Hey, how did you come to be an engineer on the Boundless? If you're okay with sharing, of course."
OOC:
Can you see that I like interacting with NPCs? :D
Also, this was a great post! I love the way you write, Cep.

Gotta make some movement here! :D
Lark spends about an hour in the Main Engineering, listening to Kormick, observing the work of the engineers and asking questions about the reactor, until a couple of pointed glares from Debbie and realization that he should probably go and unpack his things forces him to leave. He exchanges goodbyes with Kormick and the others, cheerfully waves at Debbie and strolls out into the coridors of the ship with a promise to return - both to himself and to the crew.
After attempting somewhat successfully to remember the way back to the ship's main levels, he eventually finds the sign pointing towards the Hangar. Whistling some melody under his nose, Lark follows its direction, aiming to grab his stuff and head to the Crew Quarters. Newfound inspiration, granted by visiting the Engineering, makes him itch to tinker with some of his projects...
OOC:
Lark is going to the Hangar, to find destruction his things.
