1 - Negociating terms

I think we have a basic agreement. One thing I would like to add. Since you have a caravan heading out every so often I would like to be able to send one of my people along at times to ferry small items back and forth. Nothing that would cause one to see the caravan as a mark, or threat. You see I like to import small amounts of jewelry and other such items. Having one travel with a group will allow these things to pass unnoticed and safer than a courier traveling alone. This will allow us to have some profit from your venture as well. Still i will need final approval from my father on this arrangement., Tamara says

tis a shame my character lost her husband to be and her brother in one dinner conversation.

Lord Exadius sighs, showing signs of irritation: Don't push it too far, Lady Chalmer. I think the promise to have the support of The Moneylanders is nothing to sneer at, and I'm fairly certain that I can count the times I've made such promise on the fingers of this hand he add to support his offer.
... now, your request sounds reasonable. Let's say I agree as long as the caravan manager approves the presence of this item in his convoy. After all, he would be held responsible if anything were to happen because of that additional shipment.

Seeing that everyone seem to be done with their plates, Lord Exadius calls the server out as of for the dessert and spirits.

Erasma prepares to contradict Bradley almost out of habit, but restrains herself. They had him where they wanted, and he was being quite agreeable. Better not sour his mood. But she couldn't help but think that Tammi's addition to the deal was genius.
Sure, his word could get them quite far, if they were attempting to start a venture of their own, but should this whole idea fall through... well, his word wouldn't be worth his weight in gold anymore.

Well then it seems we have an agreement. Unless there is anymore business to discuss? If not a nice wine sounds good right now., Tamara says with a smile.

Yes, it seems like we have an agreement in principle. I'll send a messenger with the detailed terms in a few days to your House, but we've established the basis of it.
Lords Humston looks impressed by the way you handled the negotiation and turned it to your advantage, while Lord Cobhall seems a little upset - probably realizing the he could have asked for more than he did.

As you continue to chat about the conditional promise of mutual support and how you'll come to a final written agreement, the remaining waiter, accompanied by the chef himself (probably because his assistant was sent off while he still needs help) bring an impressive dessert: you see live flames moving on the "icing" of an ember colored mounted piece.

Tamara decides to wait a little bit before trying the dessert figuring that Bradley would be the first to dig in. Her thoughts turn to who she needs to talk to to find out who the spy was and who he works for. Someone want to know what is going on or maybe even stop it.

Erasma is delighted with the display and claps daintily. She too waits, allowing Lord Exadius to be served and to eat first as befitting the host.

The amazing dessert is served in generous portions, then served to all of you. You learn that the icing was made using fire snake venom, which isn't toxic by any mean after burning off.
Its taste is fantastic and surprising: the first bite feels like a mistake, as if you just bit a real burning ember. But that feeling disappears in a blink of an eye, leaving you with the gourmand taste of homemade whole cream and exotic fruits. That didn't steal its reputation, and those who can afford probably don't feel like their money was lost.

The evening will continue with live but not loud music and nobles small talks. Do you want to try and extract some information for those in the room, or do we move forward?

OOC:
just a reminder who else is there again.

OOC:
Present in the room:
- Lord Exadius of the Moneylender, whose career is such a success that he is believed to be supported by the some god.
- Lord Humston, whose House is getting weaker each year but who still has a dominant position on what happens on the lake.
- Lord Cobhall, a rich yet clumsy tradesman that work with House Humston on things regarding boats.
- Another Lord you weren't introduced to and that seem to take no interest in tonight's negotiation ; he clearly is here to enjoy the food, drinks and flesh. You recognize him as Baronet Jessop, a lesser noble that mostly enjoys his inheritance and golds.
- the three of you
- the young remaining waiter that seemed to be in charge, and the "waitress" near the barrels of wine that seem to also be here to enforce security
- the Golden Trinket's chef that came to help after the second waiter was sent away due to his bleeding
- a group of live music that is setting up in the far corner of the room (5 people)
- three courtesans that were here when you arrived but left as the food got served ; they'll come back when the music starts

Tamara goes over to lord Cobhall and asks with a friendly tone,How is the boat business these days? I am sure you and Lord Humston are doing well with your control over the lake businesses. It must be as you are expanding here which seems very different from your normal business. Whatever caught your attention?

Erasma's eyes keep latching onto the Baronet, curiosity brewing as to his level of interest in the night's events. She saunters over, taking her glass of wine with her, and sits next to Jessop. "Enjoying the festivities?"

Hey guys. I'm sorry but I'm having some kind of writer's block here. I keep failing to write any decent answer and it's already been too long since you posted...
So here's the deal : narrate what you've obtained from those you want to talk to (within reason!) and how you got it. That should be enough to get me back on track, and you get a one-time joker 😉

Tamara gets Cobhall talking about things he is comfortable with and allows some drink to influence him. She then asks him for a dance. Using her looks and flirting a little bit she finally casually mentions the mining again and does her best I am forgetful look and asks what was the name of that stone again to get him to cough up the type of stone being mined before he realizes he let it slip. She then downplays it with the we are going to work together on it so what is the harm she won't say anything.

Eramsa 'enjoys' a conversation with Jessop (one that he likely won't remember) over some wine. Before he can get too distracted by the dancers, she learns more about his family and the problems he has holding onto his nobility. He contributes very little to the city, simply riding out his late father's good deeds and money, letting his many servants essentially run the estate.

After a lot of talking and drinking, Tamara finally get the following information: the coveted ore looks like a darker, smoother brass. It is solid, strong, very hard and quite heavy. Lord Cobhall doesn't know the proper dwarven name for this material, but he's heard the name orichalcum a couple of times even if its not a thing he has heard about. After you managed to reassure him that it was OK to tell you what he knew, he adds that he has sent a disposable page boy to research on that name at the Pantheon three days ago.

Erasma chats with Baronet Jessop about his personal and family situation. She learns a few things, some of which might prove useful to get leverage on his family if need be.
OOC:
You can add it to your character sheet:
"Jessop secrets". You may now gain advantage on Intimidation checks against the Jessop's family members if you chose to exploit what you learned tonight. But that may have consequences. Use with caution.

On to the next scene!

What are your plans?
Reminder: you'll have to get Moonbeam's character in (and Moonbeam needs to finalize/submit it).

OOC:
Plans are probably ask Erasma to go to where she was trained and do a little discreet orichalcum. then see if any of my contacts have heard any rumors and see if they can find out who the spy was.

Also want to get moonbeam in

If this is the case, Erasma will likely make idle excuses as to why they can't go there, but she has perfectly suitable facilities at her family manor (which is currently empty of prying eyes minus a few trusted servants). She is more than willing to use her home as a base of operations... so long as no one touches anything.
That may also make for a good opportunity for our "Guest" to arrive. Bringing Moonbeam into the picture.
