[The Fool] Out-Of-Character & Pot Pourri

Just a spot for randomness. I'll begin setting up some brief personae dramatis for LV to give the setting character.

I love your use of Terro cards

I'd love to find a solid way to incorporate tarot into gameplay. This might be the game to try it in, even if it is just to set the scene, or something similar.

I'm very pleased to say I have the original Ascension Tarot deck. 😁

Cool

I found these print-your-self Ascension Tarot deck. They are very dark

Yup exactly the same set! Glad they have it as print yourself. There's an Awakening set too but I never got hold of it and can't find it.

Hey, just a head's up. I'm taking a road trip on Saturday the 20th, so I may not be posting that day. I will try to check threads if I have the time, but I can't guarantee any availability.

I think I'll throw up the initial post later today, the setup for the intro adventure, even before I finish reviewing the characters (also my plan for today). My goal is to get your feet wet, and then go from there.

I will be on a brief holiday Monday through Wednesday, and while I'll have access, I may not be very diligent about GP. After Wednesday, we can go as hard as you want.

Mordecai has a golem? Nice!

You lot went hard while I was in the internet voodoo zone of interior hillbilly BC. I'm back in the land of bars and will fill in some gaps tomorrow.

Yeah, I’m still getting it approved, but hopefully I can make it work. The rules for familiars in M20 are a little more flexible than previous versions.

Ooh, it's a Familiar? I'm interested to see what happens.

Can I just say, I know we're barely into this, but as my first mage game I am highly excited about all of this so far. Thank you.

GM looks at notes, see nothing but role-playing tax forms.

Uhh, thanks.

I another game King_Moloch has excused himself for a few days, so I think it would be okay if we don't wait for the rabbi

But what to do with the golem... Okay, I'm on it.

OOC:
Transmuting gunpowder to sand is Vulgar. However, there are no witnesses (inside the bullets where) to observe the change. As such, it is Vulgar without Witnesses, so the DC is highest sphere+4. One success? Does that mean one bullet? The bullet from one gun? More? Let's find out together!

Wiki receives 1 Paradox point.
OOC:

I'll just do the math, since its the first time it really matters ;)
Vulgar Without Witnesses: Difficulty = highest Sphere + 4
DC = 6
Has one success (with an 8)
One success Marginal (finding a helpful TV Tropes entry)

The goal was to change all the bullets in a radius, with a marginal success, I would say that it's one or two of the closest gunmen's bullets that have been disabled. The magic had an effect, but not the desired effect.

Right. One success. Your stated goal of transmuting all of their bullets (of which there could easily be several hundred) doesn't mean that one success achieves your goal in entirety. After all you could have started all of the bullets in Las Vegas, or the building.

What wasn't clear to me was how much of your goal one success gets you. Was it enough to transmute all of the gunpowder in the universe to sand, or just one bullet? My cagey response was that you don't know how successful it was, which is Storyteller speak for "Let's move on, I'll look it up and make a determination later."

Now looking it up, there are no guidelines. Does the matter have to be connected? What mass is affected? Did you have to see, or touch, the material? This type of transmutation clearly falls within the scope of what you want to do, but how many, and which bullets are affected appears to be left to discretion.

Ruling: The police, should they fire, will have a misfire chance, which will represent a partial success.

Is that fair?
