This fundamental mantra is repeated over and over, while Wiki is typing equation into her device. Exchanging gunpowder with sand in the SWART guys guns, would keep everyone safe.

OOC:

Transmuting gunpowder to sand is Vulgar. However, there are no witnesses (inside the bullets where) to observe the change. As such, it is Vulgar without Witnesses, so the DC is highest sphere+4. One success? Does that mean one bullet? The bullet from one gun? More? Let's find out together!

Relying on the magic his old mentor taught him for this particular situation, breaking a small stick with a rune for the number 8 in his hoodie. He makes eye contact with one of the shooters, and attempts to latch onto a bullet in the chamber, and change any kinetic energy into heat, hopefully causing the weapon to misfire or worse.

Just clarifying, the SWAT team are in the room, with the finance people, and Mordecai. The others are in the hallway, with the doorway still open, with line of sight to the SWAT?

@BedzoneII: Precisely so.

The SWAT, while not sure what you are doing, move and two surround Mordecai, while three move rapidly toward the door, and one covers the finance people. "Freeze, deviants! Hands out!"

Each of you may act, first the three who haven't acted, then the two who have.

"Don't shoot, officers!" Esther's practiced damsel-in-distress spiel kicked in effortlessly. She screamed in mock panic and crouched into a squat with her arms raised. Doing so gave her a moment to get closer to the floor, and in that action focussed on dispelling all the friction on the section of the floor that the SWAT team was running on towards Mordecai and towards them.

Coincidental? I can roll for Blatancy if necessary to keep it coincidental.

I'll just do the math, since its the first time it really matters ;)
Vulgar Without Witnesses: Difficulty = highest Sphere + 4
DC = 6
Has one success (with an 8)
One success Marginal (finding a helpful TV Tropes entry)

The goal was to change all the bullets in a radius, with a marginal success, I would say that it's one or two of the closest gunmen's bullets that have been disabled. The magic had an effect, but not the desired effect.

Glenda fixes her attention on that other door in the hallway. Even if there's no way out, perhaps getting behind that door will giver her half a second of time to grab a couple of vials out of her pack and do something with them. She does a quick duck and turn, and launches herself at the door.

OOC:

I'm presuming that this will be a Dexterity+Athletics roll. Let me know if I need to change Ability or Skill on this roll.

Sorry for ruling here Qralloq, is what im doing vulgar or coincidental? I feel like changing kinetic force to heat to make it look like a misfiring would be coincidental, but I do not wish to assume.

After the others have made their own adjustments, Conner steps to take any incoming fire to Wiki if possible.

Glenda runs down the hallway and skidding to a stop, yanks the door open. She finds an industrial stairwell, leading both up (for at least three floors) and down (at least two).

Stairs!, Glenda shouts as she sees what's behind the door. She ducks into the stairwell and grabs a couple of special oils, getting ready to help get everyone get clear of the hallway.

OOC:

Putting together a Life (3) Harm Living Being spell against the SWAT troops by throwing a special mix of herbal oils on the floor with the intended effect of disrupting their eyes, mucous membranes, and airways. Sort of like a magickal pepper spray. Is this Vulgar?

Still unsure of what is going on, Wiki is frustrated with the situation. Part of her is ready to deal peacefully with the SWAT guys as they haven't done anything wrong. But hearing Glenda's shout forces her into action.
She runs! She runs into the stairway and heads down to the first landing. There she starts to program a small program. One designed to place a suggestion in the targets mind, that they went up

@Glenda: If you "pull" the mixture from your jacket, then it would be Coincidental. This is really close to the prior attempt to change gunpowder to sand. The difference is that it isn't possible to get sand into the bullets, but it is possible that you came prepared. This is a small difference and I recognize that this may be entirely subjective - hell, I may be wrong. For comparison, if the gunpowder in the bullets were transformed into 'stale' gunpowder, or contaminated gunpowder, something that could have occurred at the bullet factory, a bad batch, then it would have been Coincidental.
