Here Comes the ___

A storm is a brewing over Jump City, little to no warning was given by the weather forecast, and most are used to the unsure weather patterns of Jump City, though those on the coast should be worried. Citizens are being asked to take shelter, and any heroes who could help secure the ocean front please meet in the Surfside Ward.

Resonance flies in from the south, ready to assist any citizens who need help, and looking for the Weather Channel cameras so she can be sure they get good footage of her saving the day.

"You really should go to ocean front and help the people there," Sera encouraged. "Stop dawdling and get moving."

Solar nods, brushes a kiss across his sisters head, then heads out the door. Rocketing in the sky, Solar makes his way towards Surfside Ward. He sees Resonance, pristine as usual, dive in ready to help. He lands nearby.

"Hey, Res. How can I help?"

It doesn't matter what angle the cameras have, Riptide is good from any angle. He comes flying off a high breaker and banks away into the air flying over to Rez and Solo, he looks like he's going to stop, but buzzes past high speed and slaps Rez's badunkadunk as he whizzes by. He comes to rest with 'Solo' carefully situated between him and Resonance.
"Dude, can you break up the cloud or summat? You're like, the Sun, right?"I dint see noone else out there, but we should take another look, Rez, I'll follow you!" He winks at Rez, either not trusting her to follow without viviously pranking him, or wanting to improve his"view" on patrol.

Resonance jumps as he slaps her posterior, then grits her teeth. They've always had fun together, but she'd look much better in shots beside Solar. Their hair, their costumes... she sighs.

"One of us should coordinate with law enforcement, perhaps the Coast Guard. If there are any boats or missing fishermen or anything, they should know. The other two can patrol outward, look for trouble."

When Riptide shouts that he'll follow her, she shrugs, looks at Solar and says, "You good checking with law enforcement?" then speeds off without looking back.

Volunteers (Mostly non-supers) are packing sandbags against the beach front leading to most houses and businesses, most of the ships are coming back to the harbor now. Police are here but Coast guard haven't arrived yet. But surprisingly there are paparazzi.

Look its the power couple! At this a few flashes get some pictures of Resonance and Riptide.

Riptide turns to the paparazzi... "Hey paparazzi smears! The Shutterfreak that packs the most sandbags will get an exclusive Boudoir shoot in our love shack!" As they race off, he catches up to Rez: "That should get some more volunteers moving. One of the real volunteers is most likely to win, anyway."

Resonance laughs at him. "You know, they'll take you seriously," she says, flying a circle around him and putting her hands on his shoulders from behind, leaning on him slightly.

She presses her body against his suggestively as she whispers in his ear, "and I don't like cameras in the boudoir."

Then she smacks him smartly on the bum and flies off toward the sea, laughing softly to herself. Fair is fair.

Resonance shakes her head. "Well, it was implied," she says under her breath. "Besides, I wouldn't put anything past you.

She continues flying, spinning higher up into the sky, trying to get a better view of the area and see if there's anyplace she can be of assistance.

Res and Riptide make perception check please.

Solar what are you doing?

Looky looky.

You both can see one small dingy probably a fishing boat that is having trouble with the current getting back to the dock, in all likelihood it has a crew of 3-5.

"Rez, I'll take care of this dinghy, does that lead cloud look like a bird to you? Keep an eye on it while I help these guys."

Riptide lands in the boat in easy view of the cabin. He will look around for stray crew on deck and help them into the cabin, and ask if all the crew are accounted for.

If everyone is there, and the boat will make it, I want to give them a "push" into the dock.

Resonance looks in the direction indicated by Riptide, but she can't see anything out of the ordinary. She flies in that general direction, though, looking around for whatever it was that got his attention.

For you resonance the cloud does have a shape of a bird but it doesn't set anything off beyond just a cloud taking a shape like when you see shapes in the cloud any other day.

"Glory hog!" she yells, shaking her head as she watches Riptide speed off toward shore pushing the boat. I could have done that. Instead he sends me up here looking like an idiot staring at funny shaped clouds.

She turns her back on the cloud, surveying the ocean, the shoreline, looking for anything else she can do to help...

Solar stares a bit dumbfounded as he watches the two of them interact. He often finds himself wondering what Res sees in Rip, then he sees them work together and their...unique antiques remind him why the media sees them as a power couple.

Its not hard to see what Rip sees in her. And I know Sera can stop fawning over Rip, always wanting me to talk about him. It's annoying. Hmm, I wonder how long they'll stay together with the struggle of getting the most coverage. Whatever, as long as the job gets done.

Solar looks for the most organized area of control and flies over to see what efforts are needed the most.

What are you talking about? I are awesome! Oh no, I have a childish sense of humor and the dog I live with is far smarter and cleaner than I care to be, so what? Everyone is so judgy. Damn, and there I am being judgy now! Look what you made me do! 😵

If Resonance wants to push the boat, I'm sure the fishermen would love that, but it probably won't look that great on camera. I was hoping the cloud thing would be higher profile... Also, in all honesty I probably know one of the guys in the boat and they're asking about you right now while I'm trying to push the boat.

The storm begins to light up the sky, being in the water could be dangerous if much longer but you still got some time. You push the boat easily ahead of the rest, and break the current. It still has a little way to the dock but you have broken the current.

You land to a group of Police who are now enjoying the help of the paparazzi with sand bags. Good evening sir! A police officer yells to you as the wind begins to pick up.

Solar looks around and notices the paparazzi helping instead of fighting to get the best pictures of Res and Rip. The "power couple" would hate to see this, but I am impressed by it.

"Good evening, officer. A bit of squall we have here. How can we best be of service?"

We're just reinforcing the beach now sir! and trying to evacuate as much as possible. The cop looks almost like he's ready to cry when the rain starts.

"Sounds good. I'll take a look around and help where I can."

Solar steps away and then launches into the sky through the rain. He spots Res floating in the air and makes his way to her.

"The officers are not coordinated and don't have something for us to do specifically. Do you see anything?"

Solar is looking around for anything of notice as he speaks.

Resonance has been hovering up here in the wind for a while with nothing to do. She scans the horizon one last time, peers down into the water, and upon seeing nothing, turns her gaze upon Solar. Her eyes travel up and down his muscular form, her mouth curling into a smile as she takes in the sight of him.

I certainly do see something, she thinks to herself. To Solar, she says, "Why haven't we gone out yet, Solar?"

Clearly the lack of people in distress or threats in the area have left her mind free to wander onto decidedly unheroic topics.

Solar splutters in surprise. He reflexively admires Resonance, sees her noticing his lingering eyes and then blushes as he turns away.

"Aren't you and Rip a thing?"

Though, I can't say that I haven't considered it.

Solar tries to play off his embarrassment by continuing to look around for someone to help or something to investigate.

Riptide appears from nowhere, seemingly winded from pushing the boat in and racing back.
" He won't go out with you for the same reason he doesn't go out with me, Rez. Just look at the man, he's got standards! Or he's asexual, definitely one of those two... Or wait, maybe he's married! Or is committed to a sick family member and doesn't have time for romance. Maybe it's one of each. Look at that! Wow, there's all sorts of good reasons not to date you Rez! Something catches his eye out to sea... Are you serious! You can't see the huge eagle shaped cloud coming in on the stormfront! He turns to it and frames it with both hands so you can see it more clearly.

"Wait. What?! Rip...did you..." Solar is truly flummoxed by Riptide's casual mention of interest. He looks at Rip...looks at Res...continues to look at Res...then looks at the clouds. His mind suddenly clears and focuses on the strange shape coming their way.

"Now, that's interesting. So, shall we find out what that is?"

Resonance mutters under her breath, Who said anything about romance?" Then she shakes her head, giving Solar another once over, and adds, even more quietly, "...better not be asexual."

Her gaze moves to the cloud that Riptide had mentioned before, but it doesn't really strike her as anything other than an oddly shaped cloud. When Solar indicates his interest, she shakes her head.

"I don't know what you guys think you see, but sure... let's go look at a cloud." She shrugs and speeds off toward the vaguely bird-shaped cloud, shaking her head. Men.

Solar regains confidence now that he's not focused on the interest of both Rip and Res. Wait until Sera hears about this. She will never believe me!

He flies next to Resonance on their way to the cloud. "By the way, I'm not asexual." He looks back at Rip. "Or, into men." He focuses again on the task at hand.

"Ha!" Resonance jeers at Riptide. "Looks like you've got competition, baby. You know we're not exclusive."

She winks and flashes a smile at both of them, then speeds up, flying ahead, laughing to herself.

"Competition? I think you've forgotten just how much junk there is in your trunk, Rez" Riptide looks at Solar and makes a swirling gesture at one of his temples while going cross-eyed and jerking his thumb Resonance's direction. "As a voice of authority, I just wanted to warn Solar just what he might be getting into..." Despite Riptide's comment, he doesn't look at Solar the same 'meat market' way Resonance does, he just says awkward things sometimes.

Resonance turns to look at the two of them, flying backward directly at the oddly shaped cloud. She opens her mouth to offer a witty retort, but then seems to think better of it. Instead, she simply sticks out her tongue, as if she were a grade school child taunting a classmate, then turns and adds a burst of speed, shooting ahead again.

Thought the Cloud doesn't appear any different, you do spot a single person walking up the beach from the direction of the ocean.

"It seems like you may be worried that she may think she'll look better with me, especially because I don't care about the glory?" Solar knuckles Rip with a smirk..I don't know how I get myself in these situations. Yet, I have to admit that I am enjoying myself…a little.

"Let's go greet our new friend." Rip zips off before Solar could finish the sentence. "…and he's off." Solar follows after Rip and lands next to him on the beach near the newcomer.

"Hello! I'm Solar. Who might you be?"
