Awesome. I setup an Archive subforum and moved all our game prep talk into it to keep things tidy. Apparently when I setup the GM "Behind the Screen" subforum, something glitched and deleted the entire Archive subforum. It's all gone, Pete Tong.

that is very stange. Can you find a post that should be in the "deleted" archive on your browser history and then try to open it just to check if it exists?

Most of the time they just disappear from being listed and aren't actually deleted so accessing through browser history should probably still work

Well that was fun and fruitless. They're all back in the Archive subforum, but apparently it will only display the most recently created subforum. So I'll keep my GM notes somewhere else and use the Archive subforum to keep things tidy.

Okay. I'll do that just in case I get tired, forget what happened earlier, try to create a "GM Behind the Screen" subforum again, and lose them for the second time. Not that I would ever do anything like that. At least not more than three or four times.

If you create, delete and move around sub forum, they may appear/disappear. It’s a bit of a weird bug, but they shouldn’t just be deleted :)

I like all the pictures except the anime girl for Alexis. I'll look around for something else. Doesn't even have to have a wheelchair on the picture, just a face picture like for everyone else works

Usually as Watchtower (Game Master) You just need to set the scene describe what is there and what things are like as well as what leads, extras etc are there. Players (Leads) tend to get into things on their own (and you can learn by watching their interactions) Introducing that guy who shoved people was good, as was having Malachi interacting with the others.
Right now were all in the learning phase of the game Episode one. The audience is learning about our characters and so are we.

I agree that the first post was gold :)
The only tip I have only is to generally try to keep all players moving at roughly the same pace. That seems to be one of the challenges of PbP that is different from a real live session

For my ability SFX, I'm not sure whether it needs to be rolled for or not:
This sounds like I don't have to roll but I'm not sure if that is just to activate and if in order to actually affect the opponent, there needs to be a roll.
This is the closest thing I can find but it only concerns effects that target multiple people. I would assume targeting a single person works the same but I'm not sure.

FX let you effect the plot by spending a plot point so you dont need to roll.

Sweep effects are a bit different those you roll but can effect groups of features or extras.

That's the way I read it, too. Sweep effects allow a roll because they affect EVERYONE.

Okay, I think this is mostly wrapped up once Veronica and Eli shut down Bella's request. I have a few things lined up, but we can do a Eli asking WIll for money scene or whatever anyone else thinks is needed for their character.

I'm in a couple of games with Squad and he hasn't been active the last days in any of them. I assume he has a lot going on right now and is slower with posts because of that.
I'm not sure what would make the most sense for Richard at this point. Maybe a scene with Ms. Parker since he got some money from Eli but I think it would make more sense for him to wait at least until Eli talked to Will.
I could do a regular job for her, getting money from or intimidating someone that I don't personally care about. It could show Richard's bad side but I'm not sure how much drama potential is in there.
I could have a scene with Alexis (and potentially Fiona as well). Maybe one of them has some problem that they want my help with.
Or I could be looking for info on Scarface, although I don't really have any contacts that could help me with that. Except backdoor into Wanneng, possibly. I could see if they have any info that could be useful for me.
Basically, I don't have anything in mind that I really need to do at the moment so you can just go with whatever you want.

It can be as much time as you want. We could go with Jack checking in with Kurk immediately after leaving Jessica's. We could go with later than night, the next day, or whatever works.

This "fun away from the computer" phrase doesn't seem to have a direct translation into my language. The closest I can come up with is "work is keeping me busy" or "family obligations will prevent me from coming online", but neither seem to have the same meaning.

Parker might have you look into Scarface to see if she can predict anything about him and use it for her own benefit. You could backdoor into Wanneng for info, or check with your friends.

Squad is back.
Since Richard doesn't want Jack to meet Alexis, he would probably set up a drop off somewhere else. Doesn't mean that Jack can't ignore that and still bring it to his house.
Alternatively they could (accidentally or not) run into each other somewhere else while Richard is taking Alexis for a walk or something

I think I'm waiting on Will/Veronica in the calling home scene, then all Scene 2 threads will be closed.
For Scene 3 I had a few ideas and some were suggested:
- Alexis might convince Richard to take them out somewhere to meet Fiona. Jack could (coincidentally?) be there as well. I'm not sure how this will progress the plot, but we can play it.

just reading 002.3.. it is also possible that Jack is the one smuggling Amanda for some reason, since he has access to the outside (and was smuggled in before). This could mean a Will, Amanda, Jack and maybe Veronica scene

Happy New Year, everyone!
I have some good and bad news... well, the same news, which will be good or bad depending upon your perspective.
I'll be much less active on this site in the coming year. I've decided to finally focus on writing my book. I'm dropping out of most of the games I'm in on here and a couple of other sites. I don't want this one to die off, since we all put so much time into it, but I'm also certain that I won't have the time to devote to runing it properly. I'll send my notes to whoever wants to run this next. I worked out a really good plot with the help of thetaodaddy.
I'll be peeking back in every few days, so please let me know what you guys want to do. I really don't want this to die off unless you have all lost interest. I just don't want to be the one responsible for so much work being for naught.
I'll miss you all! This has been an amazing world-building exercise, and of all my roleplays, this is the one I'll probably miss the most, having invested so much into it.

I do some great connect the dots work if I do say so myself, but... I'm not super confident in my GM abilities for a forum based game. I'm good at reading a room, improving, and doing voices when I GM. It makes for some fun sessions and every now and then some pretty flat ones, but I'm willing to give it a go.
Let me review, organize things my own way, and see if I can make some plans of my own based on what we have so far and the plot notes. It will probably take a few days, maybe a week? I'm back to work in a couple of days after 2 weeks off and will have to catch up and clean up after my teammates.

Damn. Probably? I'm getting hammered IRL right now, and just found out we have to find a new place to live and move within 2 months, so free time just disappeared. I had good intentions, made good suggestions and got a decent sounding plot from tracyfreegirl, but I just haven't had time and it's not looking like I will until well after April 1.
