Pathfinder2e The Spurned hath no fury like alchemy

The contract was the Big arc, each of the three cities were smaller arcs.
The first small arc was Salt-shore; the players discover an evil alchemist's base. A Halfling Alchemist was taking his revenge on those who mocked his love for a half-elven woman. The half-elf woman was very beautiful and to avoid her suitors temptations... She joined a Nunnery. He had his goons kidnap his infatuation the half-elven woman and any who stood in their way.

So why use a thief to steal the azure stone? He needed it for his great machine, that would transmute living flesh to gold. The bodies of those who mocked him, the Nuns who guarded the Nunnery, and his "Love" are bound on a "conveyor belt", and one by one sent over a large water wheel. As a captive is passed through a beam of light that victim would be turned to gold. The body would be dropped into a smelter, (melts the gold down) and is poured to print counterfeit gold coins. This gruesome fate is happening right now.
Many of the alchemists stooges were happy to take the gold coins... But the thief was not. As soon as she discovered the alchemist's true plan and her reward (gold coins made from murder) she rebelled. The alchemist ordered his goons to capture her and place her at the end of the conveyor...

Do the players arrive in time to rescue any of the captives? Do the players defeat the many traps, minions and monsters of the Alchemist's great machine? Do the player's defeat the alchemist or does he escape? Do they rescue the thief?

One trap was a literal "Disco ball" That once deployed would scatter the transmuting beam in a large room.
Players would need to dodge the dozens of beams or risk losing body parts (hands, feet, Abs, knee, forearm, Head) as they turn to gold...

New Item: Blood money
These gold coins appear to be normal until they exchange hands.
When Blood Money is used to make a purchase; the coins would start to bleed...

By the way, when I say alchemist... I meant 5th level "wizard->Transmutation specialist" with alchemy dedication (multi-class).
The halfling had used spells to alter himself; in an effort to win the love of the half-elven woman. How does he try to escape?
He takes two bags of holding full of "Blood Money", and casts "humanoid form" and walks out disguised as one of the player characters...

What about Salt-sands? What about Salt-gate? would you find the scroll reader? Would the captain of the nine buttons decide to "Sail" in land to pick you guys up and take all of you to Oppara to turn in the taxes? would you then exact your vengeance on the "Laird Dekard"? Would you make it in time?
