"You impress me Welsh the Satyr, to accept such a challenge. If you will let me I would gladly be your second and promise to kill you should your courage fail you."
Jul 21, 2020 5:57 pm
You all stay quiet for a few seconds, but there’s nothing but the sound of the wind. Either this person isn’t looking to face you or else he just isn’t here.
OOC:
In line with your earlier perception check, there was nothing to indicate that there is anyone in the near vicinity
Jul 21, 2020 5:58 pm
OOC:
Are we close to where we were heading? Or is it further along the path?
Jul 21, 2020 6:17 pm
OOC:
You’re about halfway there. It’s another hour or two away.
Jul 21, 2020 7:30 pm
"So...should we keep moving?"
Jul 21, 2020 8:30 pm
He looks at Aukan. "I...umm...honestly I just wanted to talk to whoever this is. We heroes stick together, right?"
Jul 21, 2020 8:43 pm
OOC:
Okay my Retcon
Aukan looks a bit baffled but finally nods and says, "Right, of course. Stick," he bangs his chest with his fist for emphasis, "together." He then looks at the arrow, then at Welsh the Satyr, then back at the arrow where upon reaches over and carefully pries-pulls the arrow from the tree. "Might need this," he explains

Welsh raises his eyebrow at the goliath, then shrugs and smiles. "These woods don't have you spooked, do they pal?" Welsh seems to be wholely unbothered by the revelation that magic has somehow moved to him. "Weird magic woods are a dime a dozen where I come from." He grins and smiles. "Don't worry, I'll cover your back if things get crazy."
Jul 21, 2020 10:23 pm
Aukan again looks questioningly at Welsh the Satyr, "Aukan the Fearless does not get spooked and these are just woods, Aukan the Fearless quite comfortable in woods, hunts in woods all the time." He cocks his head to the side a bit as he looks down at Welsh the Satry, "Beside you to short to cover my back, maybe legs, but not back."

"Hmm, I'll examine the arrow and note again the next time we take a rest," Vanri promises. "With a little more time to research I might uncover something."

The Genasi shrugs. "And with any luck, what happened was the tiny charge of a long defunct spell releasing. Nothing to worry about at all!"

OOC:
Aukan, give me an arcana check as you grab the arrow
With seemingly no more clues concerning the arrow, skull or note, you decide to press onwards towards Lance Rock. Another couple of hours pass without incident until you see it, Lance Rock, a narrow, twenty-five-foot menhir of bare, gray rock that juts eastward at a sixty-degree angle.

You walk up to it and it really is just a big rock although it's made of grey granite compared to the surrounding limestone. You look south and see a ravine choked with brush, a small path leading into it and a sign with something written on it.

Suddenly you hear someone walking from the opposite side of the forest. You peek around the rock and see a dwarf approaching.

OOC:
Hmm -- If I could, I would eat magic for breakfast -- but then again I do not even really know what it is.

Holy Cow -- not only a total failure but even worse

Haha, somehow very fitting
Aukan, you grab the arrow, hold it tightly in your hand and go about your business as usual
Jul 22, 2020 10:07 pm
OOC:
No no he did not stuff it into a bag, he is holding it in his hand for now -- I have not figured out where to put it yet but definitely not in his bag it might get broken in there ;) I had considered putting it in Welsh's hat (like a feather in the cap kind of thing) but its too big for that

Yes and why would you fear something that you have absolutely no understanding of -- and he actually thinks he could eat it for breakfast if he could figure out what it was -- I mean he eats just about everything else or could if he wanted to

Welsh, seeing the dwarf nearby, panics a moment, and ducks back behind the rock, trying to be sneaky.

OOC:
Thorgrim, will you make your introduction? You spot a satyr badly trying to hide behind the rock
Jul 23, 2020 1:38 pm
Nadya gives Welsh a strange look as he tries to hide. Were there not dwarves where he came from?

She steps out towards the dwarf with a smile and wave. 'Hail friend. Please don't mind the...goat? He;s new to the area.'
Jul 23, 2020 2:43 pm
Thorgrim had been too absorbed in his thoughts to have noticed the individuals on the other side of the big rock he had been heading towards. When the female human stepped out surprisingly his eyes instantly narrowed and he snarled menacingly as he readied his Battleaxe. At her comment he replies in a sort of grumbling disapproval, "You assume much lady and I see no goat, not that I would consider a goat a threat anyway. So is it just you and your goat?" He looks about, "Or should I be concerned about an ambush?"

'Whoa easy there. I mean no harm, I'm just a seer. And what good would announcing myself be to an ambush' She holds her hands up. ' I say goat because I'm not quite.. Satyr is what he calls himself. There's a few of us, just helping out the area, clearing out bandits and the like. So we mean no harm, unless you are a lone bandit of course.'

OOC:
The symbol on the avatar is the one on the shield but I am guessing it will take a religion roll to know whose it is and what they are about
Thorgrim makes a grunting hurumph as his upperlip involuntarily curls a bit then he bangs his battleaxe on his shield, "Ya see that symbol," he hefts the shield in a manner to emphasize it, "that not tell ya something about who I am. Besides if yer a seer, then you ought to know what I am all about, aint that how seers work."
