CodeWookiee says:
Swatting away the annoying bugs, I choose to blindly lunge forward to grapple with the mummy king and drag him into the flames, the direction of which I can sense by the heat it emits.
OOC:
No idea if the enlarged states advantage on strength checks (which I read grapple as being) I don't know how that works when disadvantaged by being blinded. So I'm going to roll a bunch of athletics strength tests for grappling and dragging and stuff. The lyrical one can do with it as he sees.
Between Stormslayer's Unarmed/Grapple Fighting style, this enlarged form, despite his blindness, and some really good rolls, the incredibly large Goliath grabs the Mummy but doesn't do as much damage with the Mummy King's resistances. Nevertheless, the blind giant is able to drag himself and the Mummy King into the fire wall. Storm takes 25 points of fire damage, but with his vulnerability to fire, the Mummy King takes 50! and burns into a crisp, falling face forward into the flames.

Storm falls back into the room, crawls the ten feet back away from the fire wall, the dust finally clearing from his eyes as his turn ends.

Without the concentration of the Mummy King, the Insect Plague disappears.

The silence of the room is overwhelmed by the licking of fire in the wall and the panting of the adventurers who lay strewn across the floor with the other four dead forms of mummies. Caine is still holding the dagger to the King's heart, twisting it with fury.

Rolls

STR check against grapple - (1d20+4)

(11) + 4 = 15

STR check against shove - (1d20+4)

(15) + 4 = 19

Fire wall damage - (5d8)

(68425) = 25

The Dire Red Fox whines that he didn't get a good bite in, but circles his tail a couple of times and returns to Kitty and lays down in her lap.

"Had to get one last burn in before we finished." I snark, while lying on the ground, twisting the hilt of my dagger to return to my normal size.
OOC:
and that's how it's done.
"Also... ouch."

As Kon lies unconscious, dreaming of Huatzi giving him sweet kisses, I must head to bed. See y'all tomorrow.

Realizing that I'm not actually passed out or dead, I gently climb to my feet. Appreciating Oddeye's kindness in seeing to my companions, I wave him away. I may be bloodied, but am not nearly as close to dead as others in the room. I begin to search the rags and crispy fleshed corpses for a key, hoping that one of them had what we needed to disable the flame trap.

Have you noticed the theme of killing gods? I'm getting you primed.

As soon as Xoch’ is able to move around he’ll help search remains but is most focused on finding the other heart.

Happy to be alive, Kit sits and welcomes her fox into her lap. She cuddles him close as she looks around at everyone. "Is everyone okay?" Looking to Xoch' and Tecuani, she adds, "I know you've both just met us, but I cannot thank you enough for fighting as valiantly as you did. I don't think any of us would've escaped this room otherwise." Her words express her deep appreciation for them as she unabashedly nuzzles her transfigured husband closer.

Nuzzling Kitty's ear, the fox feels her thoughts. Duke tries hard to remember how to understand and answer her telepathic message, but he cannot use his ring while it is not truly on his finger. Giving up, he gets out from under her petting and struts around her and transforms back into her husband, wrapping his arms around her, listens to the message and uses his ring to answer her.

He is weak, resuming his 2 hit points. He still feels the weakness of his reduced hit point maximum as well.

"Thank you Kitty for making those gratitudes. Everyone, thank you! That was pretty intense. Kitty and I were making plans for what we would do if someone or more than one died. I don't like to think about that. It was hard enough to see my wife fall in battle like that.

I am out of healing and out of prayers. I need a short rest. That should heal me enough to get out through the hairy beasts we saw in the entry way. If we have truly defeated the king and prince, then the time pressure is off, but the more I want to get out of here and onto our quest. Is that a long canoe I see on the dais covered in gold coins?

I see Xoch' has found a key on the Prince. Good. Nothing Storm? What about the Prince's heart?

Caine, you seem relieved. Do you feel the Mummy's curse lifted, or is it that pile of gold unguarded except by flames the thing that lifts your spirits?"

Rolls

Paladin hit die healing - (4d10+4)

(9154) + 4 = 23

"How is everyone doing? I have a bit of healing I can do." I offer.

"I.... I'm okay.... just.... need my.... beer tap".

I take my bag of Colding and fish out my (limitless) tap and start chugging. I drink my fill, which takes several minutes, then offer a drink to the others.

"perhaps the prince's heart is buried under the gold?"
Mar 7, 2021 10:54 pm
Now that the mummies are gone, we should check out the coffins. I slowly get to my feet, walk over to and examine the upper right coffin.
OOC:
Oops, should have been only +1, so even worse roll.

Was somebody looking for a key? Xoch' holds it out while he leans against the wall and slides down to a seated position, looking exhausted. He picks up some detritus from his surroundings and begins weaving them together, making a small token of the victory here.
OOC:
With those rolls, I have reason to believe the curse is still very active.

Rolls

Last 4 hit die + con - (4d8+12)

(3141) + 12 = 21

Featherweaving for HP - (1d4+1)

"Yes! I'd like to borrow that, if you don't mind." I say, walking over to Plumamage and taking the proffered key. Then I walk towards the flame wall, close my eyes and concentrate for a bit before blinking out of existence. Six seconds later, I reappear on the other side of the firewall. After regaining my bearings, I stride over to the floor tile with a hole in it, insert the key, and twist.
