Let's everyone slow down a minute and think. Let's check around for any traps. We don't need any more curses and I REALLY don't want those sculptures coming to life.
Kon, being the lowest to the ground, notices a floor plate that the rogue neglected to check. That was probably what triggered the fire wall. Currently, there is only one statute, a really BIG statute.

"Well said, Sparky! I'm with you on not wanting to fight a statue!"

"Lightfingers, you have experience robbing tombs, yes? I might have a way to get past those flames," I say. "But I'm not sure I can see how one might disable the trap. Any suggestions?"

While I do doubt my expertise in disabling traps, I go ahead and look for some sort of mechanism, while staying far enough away to not trigger the flames.

Not being able to see well through the flames, Stormslayer still does manage to see a plate on the dais at the base of the coffin. It appears to have a large key hole. Probably linked to the floor plates that Caine stepped on?

" I possibly do have an idea or two. Whomever has the chest, open it and see what’s inside. If it’s just a heart or if there’s more inside too."

OOC:
d'oh. I thought the flames were temporary (triggered on/off by proximity). So tired. lol
"I think I can make out a corresponding plate, but with a keyhole?" I say, sharing what I've learned with my companions.

Faced with the representation of Tezcatlipoca, the jaguar seems on edge and begins pacing about the room. It's a good thing Kon and Storm have located the pressure plates or else the restless feline would have surely triggered the trap!

There is but one heart. Nothing else.

I step on the pressure plate again to see if it will stop the flames.

The flames continue. In fact another spurt of flames shoot up in another part of the room for a couple of seconds giving you the impression that there are other dangers in this room.

"Let's take a few minutes to check out these other coffins. Be careful where you step."

"Caine, I don't suppose you found a key on our poor dead fellow, did you?"

I carefully walk to the coffin directly to the right of the skeleton in the upper right of the map and inspect it with my meager skills.

Xoch' takes to the air, grateful for the lofty ceilings. He'll land on top of the coffin to the left of the skeleton (from the map perspective), to avoid any floor triggers, and inspect it for any markings or other images.

Kon moves over to the right coffin on the north and Xoch' flies onto the left on the north. As they talk back to the party and inspect the coffins, neither can help but notice that there are dusty footprints leading in and out of the coffins. The lids lift by cloth bound hands. Even Xoch' is thrown aside as the two mummies climb out and moan through their bindings.

It is never wise to disturb the resting places of the dead. But if Tēcuani was wise he would not be down here at all. His mission is to stamp out the undead. These mumies will have to suffer him.

Watching the two heroes wake the dead, the paladin gets very protective. "Damn you to Coatlicue for opening two coffins on opposite sides of the room! How can I protect both of you! We are in a crypt of mummies guys. Let's don't take any risks we don't have to!" Duke raises his shield and exudes his aura of protection over the others in the middle of the room. "Storm! Leave that wall of fire alone and let's take care of these first. I'm going out on a limb and saying the king is on the dais, but which one is the prince???"
