The button clicks as you play with it, swinging it like a club, and before you hear the click, your shoulder throws out as the rod stops in mid motion, instantaneously, at infinite deceleration. You drop your arm in pain, watching the rod suspend in mid air.

I said to swing it after I pressed the button. A little. But rule #1, I suppose.
Okay, I suppose I should have seen that coming. I reach out and try pressing the button on the bottom again, holding the bar with my other hand so it doesn't just fall, should it release from it's... stasis state?

This seems like a rather strange thing to be guarded in such a unique way. I wonder how valuable it is, or if I should look for a way to use it to unlock another hidden passage in this room...

It's all good. I just didn't hurt my shoulder, through the magic of retconning!
Okay, well, lets... put this in my pack for now. I find a way to place the rod in my pack such that there is very little chance the button will be pushed by accident. I'll probably need to fashion a cap of some sort to put over the button so that it's well and truly safe, but I can't think of anything that will work right now...

Maybe this was holding that throne in place? I walk over to the center throne, put my back against it, and my feet against the throne next to it and give a mighty push. If this doesn't work, I'll try pushing it from the other side. And then maybe pulling it from the front?

Rolls

Push from one side. - (1d20+5)

(20) + 5 = 25

Push from the other side - (1d20+5)

(11) + 5 = 16

Pull from the front - (1d20+5)

(14) + 5 = 19

The beefy barbarian demolishes the throne completely. He sees 400 in gp amongst the rubble.

Ah! Now that's more like it! I gather up the spoils of my tomb raiding. Then I pause to think, what about the other two thrones? So I proceed to demolish them, too.
OOC:
Quandary: Given that I demolished one throne, it seems to reason that I would be able to demolish the other two, as well. But, I don't know if the standard game play requires that I re-roll for both of the other thrones.

Ah, well, that was some good exercise, at least. And I wouldn't want to have to wonder if I had left something behind...

I walk back down the hallway to the outer room, stopping briefly to relight my torch on the way. I scrounge around until I find a rather large bone, and set about carving a fitted cap for my... well, I need to figure out what they heck to call this thing. How about... stasis rod. Test fitting it, every few minutes, I get a good snug fit that covers the button. Let's not mention the few times I hit the button while fitting it and felt rather stupid about it.

I take a moment to eat some more fish (gah, I can't wait until there's something else to eat), and enjoy the brief rest before swimming across the underground pond, and climbing up the rope. Not wanting to leave anything of value behind, I jab to torch into the same, convenient crevice as before, and retrieve my rope, coiling it up and placing it in my pack. Then I extinguish the torch, shield my eyes, and make my way back into the sunlight, so much brighter than any torch could ever be.

I remain in the small cavity I'd sheltered in, trying not to gag at the smell of what remains of the decomposing bear pelt. Yurk. Once my eyes stop burning and tearing up when I look anywhere above the edges of the rocks around me, I carefully climb out. The way my luck has been, there's not telling what's waiting for me...

Which turns out to be nothing. I think I'm getting a little too paranoid. Or is there such a thing as too paranoid? Well, nothing to it but to turn right and continue my journey north, plodding along with the sea on my left, and the rocky hills to my right. Let's see how far I can make it before dark...

And just because I'm curious now... did I "solve" the trope in the usual manner?

the girls have almost caught up. The Amazonian is moving now and I’ll speed her along Without much training. The other girl has one day of intense fighting after having spent 3 games days of some hardcore background work. The most intense back story I have ever seen. I’m hoping to have everyone together by end of week. The guys have been ready for a week now. I’m getting very excited to see y’all come together.

Go ahead and level up to 2.

Okay, so i used dndbeyond to do the leveling, and then did my best to migrate the stuff into the gamersplane character profile. I also migrated some stuff and added details to some other stuff so I could reference it from there.

Can you do me some research from a player's account perspective? Go to the game page and look at the characters. Especially the Mistress of Darkness NPC. Can you see that character sheet? Or any of the other players? I need to know how to hide info like secrete identities, lol.

OOC:
I sent you a screenshot via FB Messenger. But, the short and simple is... I can only see my own character sheet. The rest are not links to character sheets. Oh, and Tina said (last night) that she was waiting on a response from you, so if you are waiting on her, it's possible that a notification got lost in the mass of notifications that I'm sure you are getting.

Given that the "stasis rod" is a trope, is there a correct name that I should be using? I'll continue to call it a stasis rod for now...
At some point in my journey along the shore, I take a break and pull out my stasis rod, realizing I hadn't really examined the knob end while it wasn't in stasis. I try twisting, pulling and unscrewing to see if it comes off...
