This seems like a rather strange thing to be guarded in such a unique way. I wonder how valuable it is, or if I should look for a way to use it to unlock another hidden passage in this room...

Maybe this was holding that throne in place? I walk over to the center throne, put my back against it, and my feet against the throne next to it and give a mighty push. If this doesn't work, I'll try pushing it from the other side. And then maybe pulling it from the front?

I walk back down the hallway to the outer room, stopping briefly to relight my torch on the way. I scrounge around until I find a rather large bone, and set about carving a fitted cap for my... well, I need to figure out what they heck to call this thing. How about... stasis rod. Test fitting it, every few minutes, I get a good snug fit that covers the button. Let's not mention the few times I hit the button while fitting it and felt rather stupid about it.
I take a moment to eat some more fish (gah, I can't wait until there's something else to eat), and enjoy the brief rest before swimming across the underground pond, and climbing up the rope. Not wanting to leave anything of value behind, I jab to torch into the same, convenient crevice as before, and retrieve my rope, coiling it up and placing it in my pack. Then I extinguish the torch, shield my eyes, and make my way back into the sunlight, so much brighter than any torch could ever be.
I remain in the small cavity I'd sheltered in, trying not to gag at the smell of what remains of the decomposing bear pelt. Yurk. Once my eyes stop burning and tearing up when I look anywhere above the edges of the rocks around me, I carefully climb out. The way my luck has been, there's not telling what's waiting for me...
Which turns out to be nothing. I think I'm getting a little too paranoid. Or is there such a thing as too paranoid? Well, nothing to it but to turn right and continue my journey north, plodding along with the sea on my left, and the rocky hills to my right. Let's see how far I can make it before dark...
