"I don't believe I have seen you here before sir, do you perhaps have an invitation I could see?"
"Oh no sir you would not know me as I am a traveler from far off parts. I have heard that some of the nobles of this fair city are known to gather here so I have come to offer my help to those who have missing family members. If you could see your way to letting me in and perhaps directing me to the specific nobles I am looking for i would be ever so grateful and be honored to call you friend. "

"You do seem like a trustworthy fellow, but I can not risk losing this job as I am sure you understand. Are you perhaps someone skilled in searching for people? I could ask some of the guests here to speak to you."
"Greetings kind sir. I believe I and my fellows here are expected. I do hope we aren't too late for the performance. I'm told the those gathered were quite enamored with my colleagues earlier in the day and we hope to maintain our good name." He gives the man a large smile, slowing his walk only enough to speak to the guard while seemingly planning to just push right past with little real regard to the answer.
"I do hope you get a chance to watch some, I love an audience. Perhaps these other two will be as well." He gestures vaguely behind him to the other two kindred as he continues to not let the guard get a word in and walks past him.
"Deacon Duccio, do you know this Issac? He seems to be a very trusting and friendly man and as much as I would like to allow him entrance without someone to vouch for him or an invitation my hands are tied."
Turning back to the doorman and Issac Duccio sighs slightly, "It is good to see you as well Issac I came to finally get around to introducing myself to the nobility as it has taken me too to do so due to all of the activity in getting myself settled in this fine city. This fine doorman does seem like a very pleasant and professional individual. Speaking to him, yes I am acquainted with domine Issac here I am unsure if I can truly vouch for him due to not knowing of his ability of etiquette and how much responsibilities and would fall to me on his behalf if I were to do so."
"I apologize for putting you in such an awkward position Deacon Esposito. I assure you that were you to vouch for me I would bring no shame to your name. "
"Thank you for your aid. I was becoming concerned I may have to think of some more....creative way to get in. I prefer not to use such methods when avoidable. While direct and easy they are often clumsy. If its alright with you I shall stay close with you for a bit in here to take a measure of the tone of the room so to speak. I plan to speak with the families of those who are missing but I do not need to rush directly to them."
With that Kristophe and the other two individuals he entered with begin performing a series of acrobatic tricks. Flips, cartwheels, handstands, jumps, and a variety of others. However, this performance does not turn out well. Starting with Kristophe dropping one of the other two during a handstand, directly onto the the third person to him mis-judging the distance for a jump and rolling directly into a server bringing out plates of food.
The finale however makes up for some, impressive in its own right. Kristophe sits balanced on the shoulders of one person while the other tosses a series of apples into the air and Kristophe shoots them with blunted arrows before the thrower catches them again by the arrow shaft. Having finished the performance the three take a bow and quickly move to the side, hoping that the ending made up some for the overall event.

The crowd surrounding the man seems to laugh some truthfully as they enjoyed the story, others under the influence of wine. The man regains some of his composure but his face is still wide with laughter. The short mad seems to be in the early stages of balding as he has a rather humorous comb over on his head. The face tells a different story his cheeks flushed with wine, while wearing a rather impressive mustache. When he sees the new arrivals he gestures for them to come forward.
"Deacon!" he exclaims "Duccio you must come sit with us, have a drink. Wait can someone in your station drink? I don’t know but worry now none here will tell on you."
'Good evening sir. I believe you are to be the gatekeeper of this place and require something.'
He produces what looks to be an invitation
'Would it be fair to assume that this is what you are looking for?'
He smiles warmly and hands the invitation to the guardsmen.
Smiling and extending his hand to the short man "As you already know Deacon Leonarduccio Esposito at your service and the man with me is Issac a personal acquaintance of mine."
A friend of the Deacon is a Friend of ours...perhaps you can have his drink?" he laughs to himself
Across the Room the heated discussion seems to be taking on a more somber tone as Kristophe approaches. He overhears one man who seems to be suffering under some form of stress speak in a worried tone "I am telling you we should just torch the whole damn place, it's cursed…" He moves his hands across his chest in the form of a cross
Another tall man wearing fairly simple yet well taken care of clothing leans forward. The man seems well weathered and his hands show the signs of hard labor. He listens for a moment and then speaks while clutching something in his hand. "My crew needs the money, you have any idea how much coin I spent to get that contract…" He pauses briefly before he continues " I cant find anyone who wants to go near the blasted place thou since Guus disappeared"
'Good evening. My name is godfrey; and I apologize sincerely, but I could not help overhear that you have a contract no one is willing to take. I am most curious that I may offer my services potentially. If it is amenable?'
He strokes his beard with a thoughtful look.
Isaac politely accepts a drink and smiles at Lord Van Doorn.

Meanwhile
The rough looking man eyes Godfrey up and down and then speaks "You own a company? I have a contract to built a new sewer system for the city, we broke ground a few months back. It was a good contract high pay and all that...then the problems started.Small at first yanno? tools disappearing maps getting lost, figured it was just some new hires not being careful."
The man pauses and seems to pick up a mug and downs the whole thing before continuing. As he speaks the men around him grow silent and seem to be in a state of shock.
"Then....then it got weird. Crew started having nightmares, hearing voices, beams falling, tunnels collapsing and suddenly everyone is jumping at shadows. People stopped coming to work and eventually my crew was fairly small but still we pushed on, needed the work. Then a week ago ol Guus is down in a tunnel laying some new supports and just vanished. I mean he was there one evening when we were working late and I went to get a midnight snack and he was gone when I came back. Its a new tunnel there was no way he could have left without one of us seeing."
The man stares at Godfrey his face pale and eye swelling with fear " I don't know what to do next, we need that work but I can barley get anyone who will show up now."
'I could look into things within the tunnel. See what is going on. It is not familiar to me, but we will get to the bottom of it. But for now I must leave on another errand. You may find me at this address.'
He hands him a note with his address on it.
'And if I am not there a servant will help you till I arrive.'
"Thats cause its cursed!" snaps another man sitting across from him "Aint none should be going down there, something evil lurks there."
"Aint no such thing as cursed you idiot, Your letting fear get the better of you!" the rather gruff man snaps back "Heres the Address, my names Ludger...I don't know whats going on down there maybe its just stress getting to our nerves or rats or something. You find Ol Guus or figure out how to get rid of whatever is causing the problems I will owe you one."
'Then I shall find out if its really cursed or not. And find old gus one way or another.'
He bows and departs.
"My friend, I have traveled much and seen many a curse, both real and imagined. Though it seems you have hit some difficult times indeed. I cannot say whether this is truely a curse yet however, it would take some more information first."
Kristophe strokes his chin as if in thought. "I have some experience with curses, you learn these things from the right travelers along your way. Perhaps I too will take a look at this place. First however, your man, Guus. Is there any more you can tell me of him? A family name might be of importance, or perhaps if other have been injured if there's anything that connects them."
"Good evening my son, I believe you require this to permit my entry."
The man Looks at Kristophe and speaks while trying to remember something "Guus's last name was Hagen I believe. He wasent from any renown family or anything, just a good man and hard worker. Youd know him if you seen him, he was tall rough looking man, big old greying beard think Guus was in his early 40's now. He was of the best men I knew so I would like to know what happened to him."
"Thank you, and I hope you also enjoy this fine evening"
*Henry enters the building and begins wandering around, enjoying the festivities. Overhearing the tail end of the conversation about the missing man he stops and turns to the man speaking*
"I apologize for intruding, but I am terribly sorry to hear about your missing friend. Please, accept my condolences and allow me to pray for his safe return."
With this Kristophe leaves the group, continuing to wander the room. At one point grabbing a hand full of grapes as he leaves for a few minutes before returning to the main hall. From there he continues to circle, a smile constantly on his face as he performs small bits of juggling or the like and moves from group to group.
"Excuse me my good fellow, I believe we have met before but were never properly introduced. My name is Henry and I was wondering what you meant about a curse. I was tasked with ensuring protection from said malicious practices back at my home court and was wondering if you would accept my assistance in the matter. In truth it has been too long since I have felt useful and would enjoy trying to solve a mysterious curse or whatever it may be"
*Henry chuckles as if to a joke only he can hear. He removes his hands from his robe revealing a glove which matches the design of the stole, decorated with gold filigree.*
"I apologize, I did not mean to be rude. Please forgive me."
*He steps back and bows awkwardly as he tries to remain balanced*
"Would you be interested in speaking more about the curse another day? I have a small chapel on the edge of town where I keep my books. Perhaps I might have something of use in them. I can give you the directions if you would like, it is out of the way, but it is quiet if nothing else."
"You speak the truth my friend. I do hope you decide to come visit"
*He pulls out a folded piece of paper and hands it to Kristophe. It has a wax seal keeping it closed with no adornment in the seal itself.*
"If you would be so kind as to memorize the address and return the letter to me please, I do not wish for my chapel to become common knowledge."
"Well then, I shall endeavor to visit soon as time shall allow. Meanstwhile, unless there is other pressing business, shall we not return to the enjoyment of this fine gathering?"
"I look forward to your visit! And I do suppose you're correct, people might start to wonder if we look so serious at such a festive gathering. It was a pleasure to meet you."
*Henry awkwardly bows again, this time looking a little more steady and then begins wandering amongst the guests.*
As he arrives he gives a deep bow of respect before addressing the man once a break in conversation appears. "Thank you kind Sir, for the allowance to perform at your wonderful abode. I do so hope that you shall continue to allow us to entertain your guests as you continue to show them your generous hospitality. We would of course also be willing to do other performances as you request," Kristophe gives the man a wide smile. "I do apologize if tonight wasn't quite up to the regular standard, attempts at new routines in unfamiliar locations can sometimes take a bit more work."
"It is surprising to see so many new faces here, perhaps you lot can liven the place up. Till now its been left to me and my many stories." The man laughs to himself "Not that anyone is tired of them!"
