Character Generation

Aug 1, 2020 8:31 pm
Create your character in this thread.

STANDARD: Create a LEVEL 1 character using the default method of point buying to generate your abilities.

Let me know whether you wish to be a citizen or not.

As Age of Ashes begins, your characters should be in the town?as either citizens or visitors?and should have no immediate plans or goals to move on to another location. At the same time, though, keep in mind that while your group will come to see Breachill as their hometown, you?ll be traveling across the continents of Avistan and Garund during the course of the campaign to come, so you should be ready to spend time away from home.

ALIGNMENT:
There are no restrictions on Alignment although the fight against an impending doom and the push against a mysterious organization works best for non-evil PCs.

ANCESTRIES
As Age of Ashes features a number of traditional adventuring plots and locations, all of the core ancestries work well in this campaign. Other ancestries should have
little problem fitting in. If you choose to be a citizen then help will be given with suggested Ancestries.

LORE SKILLS
If you're thinking of choosing a Lore skill for your character, consider choosing one of the following:
Architecture, Breachill, Dahak, Darklands, Desert, Dragon, Dwarf, Elf, Engineering, Gnome, Goblin, Guild, Halfling, Jungle, Kintargo, or Politics.

LANGUAGES
Common is certainly the most important language to know in this Adventure Path, along with Dwarven, Elven, Gnomish, Goblin, and Halfling.

BACKGROUNDS
If you choose to be a citizen then one of nine backgrounds may be chosen.

Rolling stats, but the rest must wait until Tuesday where I have access to the rules.

But I have to figure out how to use a real dumpstat :)

I'm looking at the character generation chapter and can't figure out why we are rolling. Class, Background, and Ancestry determines the scores... right?

Oh and I found this Android app to help with the character generation

by asking us to roll they're changing how we determine ability scores, you can find the rules for it on the PRD, but here's an excerpt.
[ +- ] boring rules language

Also on page 19 of the rule book it says player attribute scores cannot be below 8 so if the DM is in agreement with this, those who have rolled a very low score might be able to bump it up to 8.

Is there a PF 2e Character sheet template loaded up? I couldn't see it.

I am going to develop my character tomorrow and will post - His name is Zampoliou Iconium and he is a flamboyant Rogue of Varisian origin - He will have the background of Charlatan.

With the stats I got, I'd be happy to go with the default method 😂

I am going to make a human wizard, a kid who just finished his apprenticeship and full of the U! U! I can do MAGIC! attitude

SORRY GUYS, MY MISTAKE - YOU MAY BE BETTER TO USE THE DEFAULT BUILD TO GENERATE YOUR CHARCTER!
Aug 4, 2020 1:51 pm
Noted on the character generation change.

That said, I have finally decided that I'm going to make a human(half-elf heritage) druid who is a resident of Breachilll and has grander dreams of becoming an adventurer than she probably should.
Aug 4, 2020 2:56 pm
Going to go basic with a front-line fighter
Aug 4, 2020 8:00 pm
I've started developing my Rogue character, let me know what character sheet to use and then I will share.
Aug 4, 2020 8:03 pm
Halfling sling ranger, with a companion bird so far.
Aug 4, 2020 8:03 pm
Just let me know if you are a citizen or not!
Aug 4, 2020 8:11 pm
Sorry - He is not a citizen, he is Varisian who has arrived in town in the course of his wanderings and was left behind by the remainder of the band he was with.

So if it would fit what you have in mind he is a Rogue, Rogue Racket, Scoundrel, Background Charlatan. He is of chaotic good alignment - will deceive and cheat the greedy and stupid but give aid to people in need.

Thinking of playing a gnome alchemist. Noted on the character build change.

So quick question, what are the backgrounds available to citizens of Breachill? As my character is mostly done just need to sort the background out and she will be a citizen of the town.

I just have to incorporate the
Quote:
RETURNING DESCENDANT BACKGROUND
You aren’t from Breachill yourself—you might not even be from Isger or Avistan at all. You’ve lived a hard life, in any event. You have often had to make tough decisions, and have developed a knack for understanding how things work (and the best way to take them apart) that has helped you support yourself. Recently you discovered that an ancestor was from the town of Breachill and had a modest career as an adventurer. You can’t help but wonder if you would have had an easier life if you’d grown up there instead, and have decided to seek out this small town to learn more about it. You've decided to respond to the Call for Heroes to follow in your ancestor’s footsteps, either to honor their memory or accomplish the great deeds they did not. Choose two ability boosts. One must be Dexterity or Wisdom, and one is a free ability boost. You’re trained in the Thievery skill and the Engineering Lore skill. You gain the Pickpocket skill feat.
into my character sheet and then I am ready to go
Aug 7, 2020 5:10 pm
I'll have mine finished today. A tanky character of some sort. Either Fighter or Champion
Aug 7, 2020 7:11 pm
I'm going to try to finish mine up tonight as well, been a difficult week.
Aug 8, 2020 2:22 am
I took a cursory glance at some other characters and Dankel, just so you know, you have some extra skills you can select. Rogue's get a base of 7+int, and your background should give you a skill plus a lore for free, as well as the stealth from Rogue. So you should have 10 skills total(then the natural skill feat should take you up to a total of 12!) (I was only looking because I was considering whether I should be proficient in thievery or not, so if I can be so bold that might be a good choice for you!).
Aug 8, 2020 5:14 am
I'll have mine finished this weekend, been a busy week.
