Balian walks up to where Skip and Kar'i'nas are standing. Have either of you seen anything like that before? We've definitely just walked into an interesting quest.
OOC:
Were there any identifying marks/symbols on the armor of the rider or horse? Heraldry...etc

"I have some talent at disappearing into shadows or small dark places, but nothing like that display just then" Skip answers Balian.
He doesn’t put his blades away

"Many races have the art to seep between the cracks, but rare is the bone-man who maintains such skill or cunning," replied Kar'i'nas.

Balian, you see him from some distance away but you still manage to notice that the crest that he has on his breastplate matches the one from the seal on the letter you received.

Interesting....the knight had a kind of heraldry on his breastplate. It appeared to be the same symbol as what was on the seal of our letter. Balian as he stands with Kar'i'nas and Skip.

"wonder why he didn’t approach us then. And, does anyone think this illness might be why that knight looked like a skeleton? Or was he a actual skeleton. On a skeleton horse?"

while the others inspect the gem, Skallagrimm takes a good long look at the trees. Are they even trees? Is this even a wood, or are we in an illusion? Or a fish-bowl?

Turning to our Elven ranger, Skip calls "Lunora, any chance you can track where that horseman came from?"
Aug 12, 2020 7:17 pm
"As strange as that was, I uh, question, our ability to follow and investigate." Morticia pokes the sword into the bushes. "I can cut a path here, I think, but it will take quite some time. How was such a beast able to move through these woods like that?" Morticia takes a quick look for tracks.

Skallagrimm, there’s no doubt that this forest is real. It’s definitely strange, but real.

Morticia, there are some tracks on the road that indicates that the horseman initially came from further down the road

Lunora examines the tracks carefully, looking to see how old they are, as well as any other details her trained eye might pick up,

Lunora, the tracks are fresh, but strangely enough even as you look at them they start to gradually disappear.

Skallagrimm makes a mental note of who ends up with the gem, before saying, to no one in particular "Onward?"
Aug 13, 2020 1:20 pm
Kar'i'nas places the gem into a belt pouch and remarks to Skip, "What afflicts that bone-man is undeath."

He begins moving down the trail. "No need to stand and gawk at the restless dead."

OOC:
Has anyone picked up the gem? Do you want a shared loot list btw?
Aug 13, 2020 1:31 pm
Indeed, let us carry on. Balian says as the group continues down the trail.

Galdr says:

When the others arrive, the gith displays the jewel on his palm and says, "The bone-knight dropped this jewel. Anyone a jeweler or able to read the Weave?"
OOC:
Kar'i'nas seeks to see if anyone has Detect Magic.
Galdr says:
Kar'i'nas places the gem into a belt pouch
Sassafras says:
OOC:

OOC:
Quoted the pertinent text from a previous page of the IC. Shared loot list would be handy.

OOC:
Sorry, missed that somehow :)
Kar'i'nas, as you look at the gemstone in your hand you can see an eye encased in it looking back at you. The eye doesn't look human.
