Should i assume that my orginal persuasion roll failed? Do i need to roll another one? It was such a nice roll, i'd like to keep it if i could.

Morticia puts her hand on Skallagrims shoulder. "Let him try. Also you should give him his kinfe. No good will come of you keeping it."

Sorry, I lost it in the stream of posts. The doors are closed and locked with the children still outside, so you can't call them in, but I'll retcon the following before you entered the house

Morticia, the girl smiles shyly at you, "My name is Rosavalda and this is my brother Thornboldt. But we're usually just called Rose and Thorn. Our parents are named Gustav and Elisabeth. We don't know much about the monster, just that they locked it in the basement and they sometimes tell us to stay in our rooms. Our baby brother Walter is still in his nursery on the third floor, I wanted to get him too but I was too scared".

Kar'i'nas, the wood crunches as you break open the locked cabinet. Inside is a heavy crossbow, a light crossbow, a hand crossbow, and 20 bolts for each weapon

In case the map is unclear, there are four more doors in the main hall as well as the stairs leading up

The crossbows, like the sword before it, look in pretty good shape but that’s about it

Some want to go up and some want to go down. All I know is that we haven't found the stairs to the basement. So let's either go up or continue searching.

Appearing to agree with Kar’i’nas, Skip skulks stealthily back into the hall with the stairs, and begins to investigate the doors. He starts with the door furthest away, in the little nook area, reasoning this might be the basement

ill do 4 investigation rolls as there are 4 doors. Skip is checking to see if they are locked, and if not, peeking inside the room

I apologize, that was a copy paste error. What it should have said was:

Morticia gives the girl a quick squeeze to reassure her. "I'll find your brother for you. Don't be afraid. I'll protect you."

Morticia turns to the githyanki. "Suppose the monster is no longer in the basement? Suppose it is already free, and lurking in the house? I won't risk it. Go slay monsters if it makes you feel better. I'd rather save a child." Morticia heads to the stairs.
