All characters including the new ones have manage to get together. Info about what has been learned has been shared. Each understands that the wagon trip is just to attract predictors and gain info from them. The Mistress knows that you all will not be going the whole way out and probably will be leaving before completion. She has agree to partial payment.

Party leaves in the morning with two well loaded up wagons. It common knowledge to the party that Mistress isn't welcome in town and good chance among the traveling people that the party isn't either. The traveling people have a known dislike for Females in what they consider to be a MAN's job.

Mistress will be driving the front wagon with one of her two female guards and the second wagon is driven by the other female guards. You quickly realize both female guards are well trained in driving wagons besides using weapons.

Open chatter. Winks

Aratashir keeps a sharp lookout as the caravan heads out the city gate. Another day, another job. How many of these has he done over the centuries? The elven archer looks around at his companions.

Seraphina the halfliing, sharp as a tack. Monte the mercenary with the strange eyes. Nessie the oft-befuddled dragonborn. Godfrey the foppish half-elf. Ulfric the dwarf cleric. Tanak the stout fighter. Aratashir took the measure of them upon meeting them this morning and decided it's a competent enough group for a bandit-fishing errand for Jeral the current burgermister (how many over the centuries?). Two-wagon caravan for a lure. Fine enough plan, if lacking in originality (how many over the centuries?). This Mistress rankles a bit. To be precise, the other caravan masters' attitude towards the Mistress and those who would ride out with her. How foolish of anyone to take issue with another's gender! It's mostly the damn humans that are like that.

And then there's this vision everyone keeps talking about. Aratashir knows the druids well. They're no charlatans — they're the real deal. A malevolent force in the woods. Aratashir has heard of such things (how many over the centuries?) but this is the first time in these particular woods as far as he can recall.

Aratashir shortens his stride to keep pace with Sera. "Little one, tell me again of the vision you had at the druids' grove?"
OOC:
Wow this elf archer sucks as a lookout!

"Look, I know you're one of the new guys here, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But don't call me little one again, old man. Capeesh?"

She gives him a light slap on the ass the way a stern grandmother scolds her favorite grandson and leaves it at that if he does.

"The vision? Eldritch horror lurking deep in the woods. The all-consuming evil type. Pretty sure it was the real deal; it knocked me flat on my ass for a day and scared our cleric of Pelor right out of town. You ever see anything like that?"
OOC:
Gene, can some of us be riding inside the wagons hidden from view?

Acient.Astronaut, hope you don't mind Seraphina's attitude! Let me know if it is too much. As a player, very happy to have you. I think Seraphina and Aratashir will get along famously in time :)

"HAha! Who you calling old man. Young lady! Bwhahaha." He holds his belly as he laughs.
"Some men of faith have only but a grain of faith. Call them self holy!"
OOC:
We could also assume theres other horses, but if this is bait, thats some expensive bait...

Mistress can't afford riding horses other than the 4 draft houses (two pair) pulling the wagons. Both wagons are the cart type with taunt canvass cover. Not really any thing good for hiding, but some one can sit on the end edge. You all know that the first cart is full of padded and leather armor that she couldn't sell if she had to in this town due her bad rep. (Some of it, her fault for being a poor selling person and her poor attitude.) The second wagon has clothing only in it. Well, there are bolts of cloth as well.

Mistress doesn't have 60gp+ per person to have individual riding mounts. No other caravan's people can afford such luxury either.

Being that there are two draft horses pulling each cart, your well aware that these carts can pickup speed. There probably isn't a need for two drafts on each. At full racing speed these carts can probably outrun everyone. That would probably be recklessly considering the state of the road. She appears not to want to be caught.

I don't love myself yet to have my own horse.. thats a lot of upkeep but its on my list of amenities XD also a palanquin too

Of course I would love to know where each person is generally speaking. There is space to ride upfront on second wagon next to number two female guard. There is space on the end of each wagon enough for two people. The wagons are spaced enough for someone to be between them, but it is really generally frowned on. Just makes the second wagon always has to be more careful. And of course there is space to the right and left sides of both the wagons.

Right side of the wagons is the Northern side that faces the forest mostly and the southern side faces the plains. The road passes along the forest at 400' away.

Tanak wouldn't mind walking using the but of his weapon as a helping aid. He'll be on the south side.

What research you have done. The Mistress as she is called by all is Jean Cutwright as you found out. Both female guards (Lisa and Dory) have been traveling with her when she came into town and haven't really socialized. You know that Lisa thinks of herself as the Mistress right hand. They don't ever talk about payment and you suspect they are going to get a cut of the Mistress sales and not about to abandon the wagons ever.
Sep 19, 2020 12:02 am
Smiles.. if walking either Northern or Southern sides of the wagons, I would need to know if that is Lead wagon or Following wagon.
Sep 19, 2020 12:49 am
Seraphina hops on the back of the lead wagon. She calls out to Tanak who walks to the south:

"Young lady? Better sleep with one eye open tonight. So what should we call you, big man? Why don't we stick with names. That's why we have 'em ain't it?"

It's pretty clear she's joking about sleeping with eye open. Probably.
Sep 19, 2020 6:34 am
Aratashir chuckles at Seraphina's scrappy attitude. Sharp as a tack. The butt slap raises an eyebrow (now that's new, never before in all these centuries) but the elf lets it slide. Oh, he likes this one.

"Chased away a cleric huh? I never put much stock in religion myself." Aratashir says this in a low voice giving Ulfrik the side eye.

"How about you, Tanak? You seem to be a man of the world."
OOC:
I'll guard the lead wagon. South or North, whichever is the forest side.

Lenpelletier no need to worry. I love her take-shit-from-nobody attitude. Yes, they will get along great!
Sep 19, 2020 8:12 am
Nessie walks on the northern side of the lead wagon, close enough that she can chitchat with Sera. She takes hold of the baldric that supports her greatsword and hefts it higher up on her back, hopping a bit to do so.

She ponders Sera a moment and then murmurs, "To be fair, Miss Hollysharp.." Nessie's eyes lower to Sera's knees, and then back up, as though taking measure of the halfling. Nessie doesn't finish the thought, and instead clears her throat.

She looks toward the archer and squints her eyes, taking stock of her memories, "Arash'tir, right? Where's a name like that come from?"

evecar_solaris, Monte
kenesperanza, Godfrey Valadriel
claypigeons, Urfrik Balgunn

Are we missing some people. It has been days. Ping.
Sep 19, 2020 5:43 pm
"Aratashir. It is high elven, Nessie. Neszys is a beautiful name. I wish I had been a more studious child, paid more attention to my shalafi, my mentor, and learned draconic."

"How do the to of you know each other again?" Aratashir asks Sera and Nessie.
Sep 19, 2020 7:30 pm
"Maybe to understand it. Draconic sounds weird coming from softskins," Nessie looks to be speaking very matter-of-factly, with not a hint of maliciousness nor facetiousness in her tone or expression, "Not enough of a-.." She puffs up her chest and gestures to her diaphragm, "-.. grumble, I guess?" She shrugs her shoulders, "Maybe if you ate some stones, like a bird, or some such, it'd sound a little more rumbly."

At Aratashir's question, Nessie looks diminished. With a sulky tone she groans, "Not sure I want that tale told again." She glances Sera's way and just adds, "We met a while ago. Old, uh.. old friends, I guess. She helped me out, I helped her out, and got used to working together for a while."
Sep 19, 2020 7:56 pm
"Alright, you're right Nessie. Sorry everybody for being a grump. Don't mean nothing by it, it's just been an uphill battle just getting on the trail, and that vision doesn't sit well with me. Still no reason for unprofessional conduct."
Sep 20, 2020 5:07 am
"I don't think there's been any unprofessional conduct apart from those who abandoned your group before I arrived. Rest assured you won't get that from me."
Sep 20, 2020 11:37 am
Nessie looks Aratashir over and asks, "What will we get from you, Arata.. Arash.." Nessie frowns and settles with, "..uh, Ara, I mean?" After a pause she grimaces and corrects, "I just mean, uh.. What are you good at? Fighting, I figure? I'm good at fighting too." She looks thoughtfully up at the sky and adds, "Not, uh.. Bragging, I mean I'm sure there's plenty better, just.. That's what I do, aye?" Nessie clears her throat and looks expectantly at Aratashir.
Sep 20, 2020 1:31 pm
"I'm best with my bow," Aratashir reaches over his shoulder and shows off his elven heirloom longbow an exquisitely crafted thing of deadly beauty. "I expect Nessie and Seraphina are both good at fighting toe to toe."

"I'll watch over you and protect you and our employer with my life. That's what you'll get. As long as I'm getting paid of course."
