Madness and the Mind of the Medium Madam"
Holly Morton arrived at the Crowfall Museum of Natural history, where she works as a restoration technician, to find that she had been volunteered to show a high school student named
Nathan Key around. Nathan is the son of
Avery Key; a very prominent businessman in Crowfall who has made numerous donations to the museum.
Nathan seemed more interested in snapping photographs then what Holly had to say about history or the restoration process. In the end, Avery was impressed by Holly and invited her to a gathering of historical enthusiasts.
That night, Holly patrolled the city as her alter ego,
Miss Direction. She came upon an apartment building engulfed in flames and rescued the residents from the blaze. The fire was started by a Deviliment, Inc member known as
Matchstick. A tense battle was fought and Miss Direction came out on top after taking advantage of Matchstick’s mental instability.
Holly attended Avery's party and was introduced to
Harriet Morris. She works as the procurer of historical artifacts for Avery Key and offered Holly an apprenticeship. This offer was accepted.
Matchstick was broken out of custody by fellow Devilment comrades and a challenge was issued to Miss Direction by their leader, the world renown thief
Bastet. Clues were given to the time and location of three heists that would take place throughout Crowfall.
Miss Direction was able to successfully crack the code and fought against the schemes of the cat burglar. At the second location she encountered the
Medium Madam. The powerful psychic played mind games with Miss Direction who refused to take the bait.
At the final heist location, Miss Direction went toe to toe with dozens of armed bank robbers. She managed to get every hostage to safety, but ultimately Bastet was victorious. The thief used her own misdirection to keep the hero off her tail until it was too late to prevent the robbery.
The following day revealed that the Medium Madam had mentally taken control of
Tom Morton (Holly’s father) and
Jonas Parks (Holly’s boss). Miss Direction worked with the Crowfall PD to get the rest of her family to safety and prepared to do battle with the dangerous villain.
Fortuna, infamous hero of Crowfall and long time rival of the Madam, arrived to assist. The two of them agreed to the Madam’s suggestion for a meeting.
An entity that appeared to be associated with Miss Direction’s power granting
jester’s mask reached out to her and offered to assist her in taking down the Medium Madam. The two waged a mental battle inside Holly’s memories. In these memories, Miss Direction learned that Avery Key was responsible for loaning her jester's mask to the museum.
The battled ended with the jester’s mask taking control and doing unknown levels of damage to the Medium Madam’s mind which would leave the villain in a catatonic state.
Miss Direction and Fortuna were celebrated as the victors but it was a bittersweet moment for Holly Morton. During the chaos her father had suffered a broken leg.
