Part 3: The Spider's Web

Apr 6, 2016 10:36 pm
Xora skillfully leads the way toward the ruins of Thundertree and for the first few days it goes smoothly. On the third day out, at about midday you all feel as though you're being watched, like maybe something is following you. You hear noises in the forest to your right, but you can't tell yet what it is. The only thing you can tell is that it's headed in your direction.

Kama generally fills the air with quiet banter, filling in any awkward silences with tales of his farmland that usually involve drinking, animals, and the thing someone did to something that one time in the river, not necessarily in any order.

On the third day, the unsettling feeling after lunch does not go away, and the half-orc's eyes flit about the area to see if unspoken signals can be picked out.

After a moment, Kama burps. Darn lunch.

Owlbear, Round One Begin
A hush falls over the group for a moment as they wait for a response. Suddenly, a crash comes from the trees to their left and a hulking beast races toward them. It looks like a bear, with the face and beak of an owl. You all recognize it as an owlbear.
OOC:

The owlbear rushes toward Hollow first, snapping with its beak and slashing with its claws. Caught off guard by the sudden attack, Hollow takes a beak to the side (10 damage), and as she tries to avoid the next attack the beast manages to catch her right across the back with it's massive claws (15 damage).

You spend about an hour resting. After the rest, you are all feeling much better and can continue on your way.

About two hours later you find an old overgrown trail. Gradually, the trail becomes an old, overgrown lane winding between dilapidated buildings choked in vines and brush. Ahead of you, in the middle of the settlement, rises a steep hill, upon which stands a stone tower with a partially collapsed roof and an adjoining cottage. A dirt road hugs the base of the hill and wends its way between old stone houses, many of which are roofless ruins with interiors open to the weather. Other buildings appear more or less intact. The whole place is eerily silent.

A wooden sign is nailed to a post nearby. It reads:
"DANGER! Plant monsters AND zombies! Turn back now!"
Apr 21, 2016 5:04 pm
Just a short walk up the trail there is a house on the left, and one on the right.

The one on the left appears to be in better condition than the ruined and dilapidated structures nearby. The doors are reinforced with heavy iron bands, and thick shutters protect the windows.

To the right is a ruin of an old farmhouse. It is now half swallowed by a dense thicket, with trees growing up through its ruined foundations. The lane continues north a short distance to a intersection headed east and west.
Apr 21, 2016 5:05 pm
Kama spends some time reading the words, and considerable thought. Finally, he says aloud, "This is Thundertree? Or do we have much further to go? If this isn't Thundertree, I'm all for staying away."

He looks past the sign for any indications of inhabitants or movement. "If it is, what in the hells is that druid doing here?"

"Oh, Rei, you never told me you had guests!? I would have brought some treats. I picked some delicious 'shoots early this morning. You would have enjoyed them very much... the rabbits ate them, I swear!"

The forest gnome nodded his peculiar bearded head at the three adventures.

"I am Gimblyn Tumtwig Figglebauter. My clan has lived in these woods for a very long time, Tumtwigs welcome you with great pleasure. It's always nice to see adventurers around, instead of those blasted goblins and bugbears. Terrible creatures, I swear."

"Lovely, bow! That is not from these parts, I know this. My bows are the finest from these parts, I swear."

Gimblyn steps closer to her bow, inspecting it with great detail. He looks up at the ranger with a more serious face.

"Tell me of this bow, 'twig must know."

The forest gnome gave a genuine closed smile while still looking up.

"You can chat about the bow on the way," interjects Kama. "Right now we have to make haste to Cragmaw Castle and see if our friend is still alive and in one piece."

Kama looks at Aoth with an appraising eye. "You might find something worth your time inside an occupied castle, versus scavenging around here," he says. "I wouldn't mind having another blade in there, myself. Why don't you join us?"

The half-orc turns to the druid and nods. "Thanks. I wish I had something to repay your kindness."
May 4, 2016 4:09 am
"You leap to conclusions, my young friend, Reidoth says to Kama, "I have not even asked Twig if he will lead you there yet." he then turns to Twig.

"Greetings, friend gnome. I had originally called you here to see if you could help me deal with a pesky dragon who has taken up residence here, but these travelers are looking for a guide to the old castle in the forest. Could you lead them there for me? Unless you’d like to handle the dragon first? Perhaps these young folks could help you out with him?"
May 4, 2016 4:50 am
Kama coughs. "Oh, sorry. Was kinda in a rush." He sets the head of his greataxe on the floor and leans against it with all the patience of a squirrel on a sugar rush. A dragon?!
May 4, 2016 5:41 am
Gimblyn mimicked Kama's stance, tapping his foot with impatience.

"Hrm, dragons are a problem that need time prepare for. What type are we dealing with, Rei?"

He swung his staff with the force of a squirrel after a sugar rush landing the rounded end firmly in Kama's gut.

"Your impatience will get you killed, friend, I swear. Though, I would gladly guide them for you, druid."

The forest gnome lowered his ineffective poke and paced the room slowly.

"I shall get us 'shrooms along the way! Dragons love mushrooms cooked in Neverwinter water. Its the perfect plan. The old castle should be littered with them, though... I haven't been there for quite some time."

Gimblyn cups his hand and sways his staff in the air like it was inside a stewing pot. The faster he stirred the more little flairs can be seen shooting up his staff. The forest gnome's face was focused on his cupped hand which began to glow slightly.

Anddddd poof!

A large, five foot wide glowing mushroom appeared in Twig's hand.

"Dragon sized! This is what I want to bring back, I swear!"

The gnome chuckled and the mushroom began to fade away.

"It's a young green. It's taken up a roost in the tower on the other side of the village. In addition there are some others who've recently shown up, the black robed ones I believe are trying to ally with the beast."
May 4, 2016 5:52 am
Kama slowly turns his head and looks back at the others with a wordless expression, then returns his attention to Reidoth. "Who makes alliances with dragons?"
May 4, 2016 11:17 am
I hold the bow in front of Gimblyn and show it to him as if to say "It's a bow." I actually say "Not much to look at, but this bow has saved my life many times. Perhaps it can also be used to kill a dragon."
May 4, 2016 7:29 pm
"A young green dragon, hrm..."

Gimblyn tapped his foot as he pondered what he could remember of green dragons, then reacted overly excited over the simple bow.

"Oh, ranger, this bow wont slay a dragon. You seem quite capable though. I must tell you, my next bow will be crafted for you."

He smiled again and propped his knuckles on his waist.

"Im the best bowyer around, I swear!"

The little gnome was as awkward as he was tall, though he always tended to be up front about his personality. Spending much time talking to animals didn't aid his conversations with people.

"What do you want done with the dragon?" Kama asks of Reidoth. "Greens can be nasty, for sure, but I'm not sure what a naturist like yourself thinks of 'em."
May 4, 2016 7:47 pm
"I don't care what you do with it. Scare it away or kill it, either way is fine with me, I just want it gone. The evil races of dragons are a blight upon the world, disrupting the natural harmony with no way to stop them."

Twig doesn't know much about green dragons other than that they breath poison gas and are tough enemies.
May 4, 2016 7:52 pm
Kama huffs a breath. "Well. What can you tell us about these robed men that want to ally with it? Maybe we can play one against the other."
May 5, 2016 3:56 pm
"These cloaked figures are new to the area. They showed up several days ago, but I wouldn't go to them for help if you mean to harm the beast. I've seen their cloaks up close, they are patterned to look like a dragon's wings. I believe they may be in league with the creature, or at least seeking its favor."
OOC:
They are black cloaks, not robes. I made a mistake in my posts and I apologize :(
May 5, 2016 4:02 pm
Kama places both hands upon the knob of his axe, eyes downward in thought. He then looks up to the party, including Aoth and Twig, and speaks his thought process. "Maybe we pay these guys a visit, find out what their game is. If they're looking to chat up the dragon, maybe we can use them as bait or meat shields so we can get in close."

Then Kama turns to Reidoth. "Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to battle-plan in your house. Should we step outside?"
OOC:
Cloaks, robes, don't make a difference to Kama. At least, until it does.
May 7, 2016 3:51 pm
"The ones who seek favor of a dragon are the ones with their own agenda."

Tumtwig started shaking his head in agreement, then look at Kama.

"Trick them first, hopefully they are blinded by their goal... if not, you could always club them out away from our forest. There is no place for their kind here, I swear."
May 9, 2016 5:09 pm
"No, you are right to do any planning in here. Dragons have excellent hearing after all," Reidoth says, sounding amused.

"Take this," he says after several minutes of planning, he hands Kama a small handful of berries, "If you decide to fight it, throw these at the beast's feet. They will sprout and attempt to hold the creature down so you can 'negotiate'."
May 9, 2016 5:35 pm
"I always prefer a known quantity to a risky gamble uninformed. PErhaps we can have a brief conversation with our cloaked friends, and convince them to educate us on the goings-on concerning this green dragon. I would prefer, myself, to avoid any sort of conflict with large creatures of the scaled variety, but I suppose it may be worth the endeavor if the tales of dragon hordes are accurate. What say you, lads, should we confront these dastardly dragon dupes and dispel any dreams they have of dominating this druid's domicary?" Aoth wheezes on, clearly amused by his concluding alliteration.
May 9, 2016 6:29 pm
Kama nods to the druid, and pockets the berries absently into the same pouch containing his rations as he returns his attention to the plan.

"Whichever route we take, so long as we take it fast," says Kama, making a move-along gesture with his hand. "If it brings us closer to chasing down Cragmaw Castle, I'm for it. Let's find these fellows and try and get buddy-buddy."
May 10, 2016 11:32 am
Tumtwig jobs his head repeatedly throughout the conversation, though his large eyes seemed to wander around the druid's house. He was looking to see what kind of tea the man had laying around.
May 10, 2016 3:53 pm
"So, where do we go?" asks Kama, wordlessly attempting to point out that he's the stranger to these parts.
May 10, 2016 4:23 pm
"That is a choice you must make now. You may head to the castle first if you'd like, I know your friend is awaiting your rescue. Twig will prove to be a competent guide, I am sure."
May 10, 2016 4:25 pm
Kama shrugs. "I meant to find these guys with the cloaks. It sets us back a bit, but I'd rather have a committed guide later than a one distracted by a pending dragon job."
May 10, 2016 4:40 pm
"They are just on the east side of town. They don't seem to be hiding their presence, so they shouldn't be hard to find."
May 10, 2016 4:53 pm
"All right," says Kama. He turns to the rest of the group. "Short rest? Or you good to go now?"
May 10, 2016 4:55 pm
"Leave now. Done listening." I walk out and start heading east.
May 10, 2016 5:04 pm
"Let's start in the southeast," says Kama as he shoulders his greataxe and follows Xora out. "I want to see if we can find that alchemist's shop run by the Dendrars."

Before he exits, Kama looks over his shoulder and nods to Reidoth. "Thanks for your hospitality."
May 10, 2016 5:24 pm
You all leave the druid's house and head north to a fork in the road. Following the road to the east there is a path that leads south to what looks like it may have been a shop at one point (6 on the map). It is not totally ruined yet, but you can see that the roof is collapsed in places. Across the street, to the north is a winding path, overgrown with brush and grass. At the end of the path you can see a tower, which you've been informed houses the dragon (7 on map).

As you head along the path to the east you reach an intersection going north and south. There are ruined buildings in either direction. Aoth knows that the cloaked figures seem to be staying in a house to the south. Following Aoth you pass a small building to your left, the walls are crumbling and the roof is beginning to sag, but you can see a faded sign out front with the symbol of a potion bottle on it. This is likely the shop that you were told about (9 on the map).
May 10, 2016 5:46 pm
Kama points to the abandoned store. "I'm just looking for a necklace or amulet," he says quietly, trying not to draw too much attention. "Stands to reason, though, that this place will probably have the same kind of mad shrubbery we found back there. Or zombies. Let's be careful." He heads to the building's front door, eyes flitting about the area for signs of activity.

May 10, 2016 8:15 pm
The door opens with a loud creak and Kama steps inside to look around. This ruined shop is cluttered with sagging storage shelves and broken furniture. Shards of glass and pieces of pottery glint in the weeds and rubble next to rotted books and casks.
May 10, 2016 8:26 pm
Kama mutters to himself, reciting the words from Mirna Dendrar. "Storage shelves. Case underneath." He moves to the sagging shelves to look on the floor.

Almost distractedly, the half-orc says without turning from his task, "Xora, you still got that longsword? Wondering if a gesture of that blade as a gift to the dragon would bring us in its good graces."
May 10, 2016 8:36 pm
Kama, following Mirna's instructions, searches below the shelves, finding a secret compartment after a few minutes of looking. He opens the compartment to find a small jewelry case. Inside the case is a gold necklace with a fine emerald pendant (worth 200 gp).
May 10, 2016 8:38 pm
Kama pockets the pendant and stands. He nods to the group, his business in this place done.
May 10, 2016 9:23 pm
Gimblyn is hopping along quietly, watching the half-orc do his business. The forest gnome's face shows signs of nervousness as he is unsure he's ready to battle, if things comes to that.
May 11, 2016 3:18 pm
The party heads back out and along the southern road. You pass a building with a wide chimney and rotted piles of firewood sitting outside. Kama, at least, is able to determine that it was a smithy in its day.

The road turns to the east and you make your way through the ruins of what was once a house that has collapsed partially into the street. Up ahead you can see a small farmhouse. This small farmhouse appears to be just another empty home at first glance. However, all the doors are shut and windows shuttered.
May 11, 2016 3:27 pm
I take out the longsword when Kama mentions it. It is of a good quality as far as I can tell. Whether a dragon will want it is unknown. I hand it to Kama.

May 18, 2016 12:29 pm
I shrug. "You knock. If we don't like what we see, I'll shoot. Unless you have a better plan?"
May 18, 2016 3:55 pm
Kama grins. "Nah, I like your plans." The half-orc taps on the door with the poll of his axe.
May 19, 2016 4:39 pm
The door opens a crack and a young man peeks through and looks around to make sure you don't have any allies in hiding, then opens the door. "Is there something we can help you with?" he asks. Now that the door is open, you can see that his cloak is indeed fashioned to look like a dragon's wings when he opens his arms wide.
May 19, 2016 9:39 pm
The small gnome peaked his bug eyes around the large Kama to get a better look at the obvious dragon cultist. He wondered what their intentions were with the dragon.
May 20, 2016 2:46 am
"We were checking out a report of some strange things going on in the neighborhood," says Kama. "Kinda stopped by to see how you folks were doing, if you were bothered by thorny bushes, bees, or things along that line. May 20, 2016 3:20 pm

May 20, 2016 4:00 pm
"'Interesting' is an interesting word to use," replies the half-orc, still rubbing his chin. Finally he stops. "We're kinda interested in seeing this dragon, too. Thing is, we don't exactly have a gift of treasure to stop it from eating us. What do you guys have?"
May 20, 2016 9:09 pm
The man gives you an appraising look, as if deciding whether to trust you or not, then nods, "We just brought along some baubles, something to catch his interest, ya know?"
May 20, 2016 10:35 pm
Kama sighs, knowingly. "Yeah, I get it. All I have is this sword here. Valuable to most people, but I don't know if it's just a toothpick for a dragon." The half-orc snaps his fingers. "Say, what if we team up? Your baubles, my sword, we check out this dragon together?"
May 23, 2016 2:06 pm
He smiles widely, "Why yes! I think that would be a great idea. I was a bit nervous to be confronting a dragon all by myself. When should we do it?"
May 23, 2016 2:14 pm
I sidle up next to Kama unceremoniously. "By yourself? There are no others?" I stare him down, appraising just how foolish or desperate a man must be to attempt to make friends with dragons.

May 23, 2016 4:05 pm
"So you're intending to go back after your initial meeting?" Kama deduces, based on what was spoken. "What kind of conversation are you expecting from this dragon?"
May 23, 2016 4:51 pm
"Oh, yes, I will certainly go back. Dragons are such wondrous creatures. Who knows what kind of knowledge it has?"
May 23, 2016 5:02 pm
Kama nods, as though he understands. "Hey, listen, you mind if we come inside? There are these weird plant things wandering about, and I'd be more comfortable talking about the dragon indoors," he says. "Besides, I kinda want to see what kind of companions you got that are too cowardly to let their friend go off and see a dragon all by his lonesome."
May 23, 2016 11:03 pm
Gimblyn was keeping tight to Kama, a sturdy adventurer is a comforting presence. As the conversation continues, he slowly steps off to the side to examine the farm house more. His bobbly gnome head could be seen swaying about.

The outside is in better shape than most of the buildings around, but there appears to be nothing out of the ordinary.

"Not at all, come on in. My name is Favric, by the way," he says, opening the door and leading you inside. The building is small, with just a couple of rooms, but there are five more individuals inside, wearing similar clothing as that of your host. The only furnishings are a small stove, a table, two chairs, and a bunk.

The current occupants look up as you enter, some of them glare at you, but seeing that you're with one of their own, they proceed to ignore you. It is now quite cramped in here with so many people.
May 26, 2016 1:36 pm

May 26, 2016 4:14 pm

May 31, 2016 3:38 am
"What do you know about dragons? About this particular dragon?"
May 31, 2016 2:19 pm

Other than that, I don't know much besides that greens breath poison gas."

The small forest gnome sees the situation turn and Kama swing, his quick movement almost sucked the hairs straight from his nose. Tumtwig gripped his staff tight, feeling the magic flow through his body and his hands. He quickly located the closest three clansmen, releasing a magic missile in their direction.

The attack was more to emphasize Kama's, as the gnome knew his missiles were weak and accurate.

The cloaked figures are obviously angry and already have their swords drawn. They make ready to charge at you, but as soon as the first moves forward an inch Xora's arrow is in the air. It hits the man right in the throat and launches him backwards. Before they can take another step, she has another arrow nocked and ready. The others stop their movements and stand very still, slowly dropping their weapons to the floor and holding up their hands.
Jun 24, 2016 9:02 pm
"Right, glad that's settled," grunts Kama through gritted tusks. "Now, maybe the rest of you start explaining what you're doing, before I start to seriously lose my calm?"
Jun 27, 2016 7:16 pm
"That's it, we were just trying to get the dragon to join a group that's based in Neverwinter. They're looking for help from dragons for something, they didn't tell us exactly what," One of the cultists speaks up after a few moments of tense silence.
Jun 27, 2016 7:28 pm
Kama plants his greataxe on the ground, and rests his foot on the beard close to the heel. "Right. With two diamonds, and maybe a couple of bodies," he says. "Considering the fact that Favric here was eager to send us in, if we hadn't come along he would have probably used you fellas to seal the deal, eh? While he walks away with the spoils and a job well done?"

The half-orc shakes his head. "Ain't that a shame." He lets the notion sink in, gauging the reaction in the remaining cultists. Perhaps it will make them more compliant in answering further questions, but if not there's always axe-based persuasion.
Jun 27, 2016 7:39 pm
"They belong in a cell." Foolish men.
Jun 28, 2016 2:44 pm
Some of the men pale at the thought of being Favric's dragon bait, but they hold firm to their story, "We don't know any more than this, and we haven't committed any crime. The only one who really did anything at all was Favric," he studiously doesn't look at the head on the floor at this point, "and he's seen justice. Can't we forget all about this and go on our way? This is all too much and I just want out," there is a steady murmur of agreement at this last point.
Jun 28, 2016 6:24 pm
Kama nods his head and is about to turn to his companions, but stops. "One more thing," he says to the cultists. "You guys already spoke to the dragon?"
Jun 28, 2016 6:25 pm
The talker shakes his head, "No, we were just looking around for now, getting a feel for things, ya know?"

Everything seems alright to Kama, and if no one has any objections, you let the cultists go on their way with the promise that they will get into safer and more wholesome work in the future.
Jul 1, 2016 1:52 pm
"What to do with these trinkets?" I point at the paltry pile of gold and other things meant for the dragon.
Jul 1, 2016 1:59 pm
"Keep them!" the last cultist out the door says.

You manage to find 27 gold, 32 silver, and 87 copper pieces, as well as 3 diamonds (100 gp each) and a potion hanging around what remains of Favric's neck-stump.
Jul 1, 2016 4:57 pm
Kama breathes a sigh of relief. "One down. Now for a dragon. Somehow I doubt it'll go as smoothly as this."

He takes the potion and dips a finger into it for a test of what it might be.
Jul 1, 2016 6:24 pm
Kama sucks the potion off of his finger and can feel himself growing lighter, almost as if he could fly if he really wanted to try.
OOC:
It is a potion of flying, if that wasn't obvious
Jul 1, 2016 6:27 pm
Kama turns to Xora. "Flying potion. Might come in handy against a dragon, eh? You want it, or should I keep it?"
Jul 4, 2016 11:25 pm
Gimblyn was distracted by the shiny diamonds, snapping out of it as Kama speaks.

"I can have a diamond, I'll make good use of it... I swear."

The little forest gnome had a large smile as his glossy eyes locked on the three diamonds.
OOC:
Sorry for the slow post :)
Jul 5, 2016 5:21 pm
The cultists have left now, and you are alone in the house. Do you want to try to deal with the dragon now, or would you like to proceed to the castle in the woods.
Jul 5, 2016 5:45 pm
Kama shrugs, and barring any objection from the others, flips a diamond to the gnome. The short one's earned it, at least.

"Much as it's right next door, I don't think our pal Gundren would appreciate us tangling with a dragon while he's all locked up. Plus, I don't think it's going anywhere soon. I figure we head to the castle now and rescue our wayward dwarf."
Jul 8, 2016 5:53 pm
Gimblyn nods, "That's fine, I'll show you the way, just follow me."

Gimblyn leads you out in the direction of the castle, informing you on the way that there are several entrances to the castle. There is a main entrance on the west side, a side entrance on the south side, and a couple of crumbled walls on the north side that you could probably get through.

Which way do you want to go?
Jul 8, 2016 6:07 pm
"Main entrance is out," says Kama as they walk. "A bold move may be unexpected, but definitely guarded and we're too few to withstand any attack. Tell me more about this side entrance to the south and the walls on the north side. Do you know who uses them, if at all?"
Jul 8, 2016 6:17 pm
Gimblyn is not overly familiar with the castle, apart from these obvious entrances' existence. He tends to avoid the place, the denizens are not too friendly to small gnomes.
Jul 8, 2016 6:26 pm
Kama nods. It was a worth asking the question. "I'm going to guess the south entrance is also locked. Perhaps we'll have an easier time getting in through the north, but if it's a known opening, it might also be guarded. Eh, let's try it."

As the party treks through the forest, Kama mulls a thought. "Hey, uh, you haven't seen any owlbears around, have you?"
Jul 8, 2016 8:01 pm
Figglebauter widens his large bug eyes and looks around, he is on high alert at the moment. This castle is far too dangerous for his liking.

You come upon the castle in a clearing in the woods, it's once-strong walls are crumbling in places, revealing an opening on the northwest corner.
Jul 11, 2016 4:12 pm
Kama spent the two days jovially picking Gimblyn's brain on the finer points of fletching; which feathers provide more stability, is shield-cut really better than parabolic, etc. Despite not having a single arrow on his person, the half-orc has seen a few in his days... often the business end.

Taking position at the edge of the clearing, Kama squints. "Are you serious?" he hisses, not wanting to betray their position, but also wanting the heavens to hear his displeasure. "It was right on our doorstep?"
Jul 12, 2016 11:48 am
I listen in interest to the discussion of arrows. While mine are perfectly adequate, I wonder whether I could improve my accuracy and damage. If Gimblyn is as good as he says he is at crafting weapons, it couldn't hurt to ask once we have completed our task.

Once we get to the castle, I like ok around for any signs of scouts or guards.

Xora can't see any signs of danger on the outside, it's actually pretty quiet. She moves over to look through the opening and her keen eyes are able to pick out several forms moving about within. Though she can't determine what exactly they are, they're obviously humanoid.
Jul 13, 2016 5:05 pm
Kama draws Talon, opting to try the longsword this time. Over the past two days, he practiced a bit with the lighter weapon to figure out positioning and defense. The half-orc admired the speed of the blade, understanding that it traded heft for balance, and appreciated the versatility of one- or two-handed attacks.

He takes a deep breath to prepare himself, and looks back at Gimblyn. Kama gestures Follow me with his head, and attempts to quietly join Xora at the opening in the north wall.

H2 and H3 move out to confront the powerful-looking orc warrior and his fancy sword. H2 moves quicker than Kama could expect and hits him hard (Critical - 27 damage). H3 swings at the same time, but misses.

Brackets on the walls hold a number of weapons - spears, swords, morningstars, and more. The north wall shows signs of damage, but the floor is swept clean of rubble.

Making her way around the castle, a little ways to the East Xora finds a canvas covering part of a broken tower (North Center). This tower has almost completely collapsed, although the ground floor still has a little open space. Rotting crates and ancient barrels show that provisions were once stored here. A heavy curtain blocks a crumbling area to the south, and an intact door leads east.

Continuing her way around, she doesn't find another entrance until she reaches the door on the south side of the building.

Further along she finds that the southwest tower of the castle is little more than a heap of rubble. Several ragged bedrolls are scattered across the remaining floor space, and a small, twisting passage leads east through the ruins.

On the West side a short flight of steps leads up to a terrace in front of the main entryway. Past the wreckage of a pair of sundered doors lies a shadowed hall. Round towers loom over the entranceway, with dark arrow slits looking down on the terrace.
OOC:
All of this is assuming that Xora merely scouted the outside and didn't enter.

When I get back to the others, I draw a basic map of the perimeter and note entrances and areas to potentially slip in undetected. "I don't like the open spaces. I will be unable to provide any cover should we run into... problems..."
Jul 25, 2016 6:52 pm
Kama pockets the coins for later distribution. When Xora returns from her scouting mission, he asks, "What do you think, Xora? Which is the best way to get inside?"

While the others were looking through the corpses, the forest gnome looked around for a small creature to communicate with.

After studying the map, Stormsong grows quiet in thought. After a moment, he asks Xora, "Do you believe that the canvas was meant to conceal or camouflage an opening? Greater care is taken to hide that which is valuable. If not," he laughs, "there is always the ancient wisdom that says, 'guards guard stuff'!"
Jul 26, 2016 6:16 pm
OOC:
To Xora, it did appear that they were trying to conceal the opening.
Jul 26, 2016 6:27 pm
"Yes, it is clear that is its purpose."
Jul 26, 2016 6:33 pm
"Then I humbly suggest we investigate there. If you prefer to look behind the curtain, I could attempt an illusion makes the curtain appear to still be in place, while we take a peek -- can anyone see in the dark?"
OOC:
Would minor illusion work for this?
Jul 26, 2016 6:40 pm
"Huh. So you're saying if they meant to hide it, it must be worth checking out?" asks Kama, rubbing his chin. "I'm down with that. Lemme hide some of these hobbos, first."

The half-orc attempts to hide the hobgoblin bodies, pulling them around to the base of the exterior wall, below sight of the arrow slit.

"I can see fine in the dark," he replies to the goliath's question. "Xora and Gimblyn, too. Actually, I don't think we've been using any torch since we've been in the woods. The druid might get mad, if you know what I mean."

OOC:
Minor illusion can fill a 5 foot cube at most, so you couldn't likely reproduce the whole canvas, but you could probably use it to make about half of it appear as you want
Jul 26, 2016 7:43 pm
"Perhaps our stealthiest then," he says, casting a glance toward Xora. Carefully, he walks up to the canvas and peers inside." I can cast it from here, if you're game. Please only move part of the curtain, as my magic has its limits. Signal me when you're ready -- I can give you about a minute of illusion."

Just to be clear, I believe that Xora saw an empty room beyond the canvas with rotting barrels and such, with a curtain covering an opening to the south. Stormsong is offering an illusion to cover anyone looking past that curtain over the southern opening.
"I, of course, am willing to sneak in myself -- however you guys want to play it..."

Xora moves like a ghost, barely disturbing the curtain as she moves through and the illusion makes the transition seamless. She once again finds herself back in the room she saw previously, with the rotting barrels and crates and the rubble strewn everywhere. There is a closed door on the eastern wall and a heavy curtain blocking the passage south.

Xora finds nothing of worth in the curtained room, so she opens the eastern door to reveal a small hallway with a door on the east side and a curtain blocking off a room to the south.

She can hear voices coming from both the door and the curtain, but she can't understand what they're saying.

Stormsong carefully pulls the canvas aside, letting some light into the room. He sees the open door, remembering from. Ora's map that it was closed, so presumes that it's all clear to that point. "I'll signal you if Xora says it's OK to follow", he whispers to Kama & Gimblyn, then he carefully makes his way to the open door, hoping to get further guidance from Xora.

Kama rests out of sight from any viewports as best he can, waiting for the signal. It occurs to him that he doesn't know what the signal is, but he hopes it's relatively obvious.

OOC:
he only knows common and giant, so probably doesn't understand the voices either
Once Stormsong realizes the way is clear to their position, he sticks a big blue hand through the door he recently entered and gives Kama and Gimblyn the 'ol come hither wave, beckoning them to join, while trying to discern any difference in tone or intent between the voices behind the door, and those behind the curtain.

Stormsong is able to determine that the voices in the room behind the door seem to be more serious and business-like than the ones behind the curtain, which seem to be very casual conversation.

Xora presses her ear to the door and listens for a moment. She can hear what seems to be the voice of a larger goblinoid - a bugbear perhaps? -, the low growls of a wolf, and the smooth voice of an elf. She can't make out the words, however.
Aug 3, 2016 12:56 pm
I hold up 3 fingers to Stormsong, and sign with my hands to indicate a large creature, a tall creature, and a creature on all fours. I ready my bow and point towards the door as if asking attack?
Aug 3, 2016 1:01 pm
As Xora is telling the others what's around, you can hear footsteps coming from the southern passage with the curtain (the one that seems like more relaxed conversation. A moment after you hear the foorsteps, the curtain moves aside and a couple of hobgoblins, who are distracted talking to each other, exit the small room beyond and bump right into Kama.

They stagger backward before turning and snarling, "Hey, you, get out of our..." he trails off and his eyes widen as he realizes that you aren't part of their group. The begin to reach for their swords quickly, but you have time to react first.
OOC:
Surprise round for the players!

Can our intrepid heroes defeat their foes without alerting the foes in the next room?
Aug 3, 2016 1:39 pm
Stormsong whirls around to see the hobgoblins, slightly miffed at the interruption when they were so close to something important. He grants bardic inspiration (bonus) and casts a silence spell around what appears will be the combat zone, attempting to keep the sorcerer out of its influence. He knows the small one will be limited to minor illusions if he wanders into the sphere of silence and tries to remain aware that he may have to drop the spell if someone needs a heal or if Gimblyn is needed.

Stormsong's bardic inspiration die is a d6.
Once within the next 10 minutes, the target can, as a bonus action, roll the die and add the number to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. Target can wait until the d20 is rolled to choose to use it, but before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Alternatively, it can be added to a damage roll, or, as a reaction, add the number to their AC when attacked. Once it is used, it is lost.

Xora's first arrow misses, but the second hits the trailing hobgoblin, exploding outward and launching sharp thorns at his companion. The hit hobgoblin is torn up pretty good by the thorns, but is still standing, and the other one manages to duck out of the way of most of the thorns and takes minimal damage.
OOC:

Kama's mouth moves in an inaudible curse, and he is momentarily surprised by the sudden vacuum of sound. He rejoins Xora, and relaxes his concentration on the silence spell once everyone is in position. He whispers to her, "What's your favorite color?", while preparing his mind to cast Faerie Fire.
Aug 3, 2016 5:36 pm
Kama takes a moment to catch his breath, then mentally prepares himself for what he believes to be an sweep of the adjoining room. He gives a nod to indicate his readiness.
Aug 3, 2016 6:09 pm
Gimblyn nods as well, directing his gaze at Kama. His eye contact meant he'd follow his lead.
Aug 3, 2016 7:55 pm
I consider a moment before I respond to Stormsong. "Green." Then, I rush into the door and point my arrow at whoever looks to be in charge. "Drop your weapons and surrender, and we may let you live." If anyone seeks to attack me, I will aim to wound rather than go for a quick kill.

Xora hastily opens the door to reveal a crude living space, with thick furs thrown on the floor to serve as carpets, old trophies hanging on the walls, a large bed to the north, and a brazier of coals burning brightly. A round table with several chairs stands to the south near the door. Near the table, on the floor, is an unconscious dwarf who looks badly beaten. You can't tell past the blood and bruises for sure, but it looks to be Gundren.

Leaning on the far wall is a rather large bugbear with a large wolf lying at his feet and a female drow speaking to him in a low voice. The talking stops as you enter and then humanoids' eyes pop wide open in shock. After a second of shock the bugbear reaches for a large morningstar at his hip and he growls, "Snarl, get 'em!"

The wolf stands up and growls before it begins to advance menacingly.

Just before Xora makes her ranged attack, Stormsong mumbles with an odd intonation,
"Reveal your weakness." A cube of light green light flashes quickly around the bugbear and friends and as it disapates, the unlucky ones are outlined in a green glow, putting off a dim light which makes them remarkably easy to see. After Xora's attack, Stormsong will slide past into the room, recognizing his role as front line defense.

With a sigh of relief that the wolf no longer has a hold on him, Gimblyn stands back up and narrows his eyes at the last remaining opponent, "It's your turn, you brute!" He wiggles his fingers and four bolts of magical energy race around his friends to hit the bugbear in the face and chest.

Aug 11, 2016 6:19 pm
Kama resumes his search, looking for a map. If he cannot find it in the possession of the bodies, he will search the room.
Aug 11, 2016 6:31 pm
Kama tears apart the room and finds a stash of items under the bugbear's mattress:

220 sp, 160 ep (electrum), three potions of healing (2d4+2). and a map.

Kama splits the coins amongst the party and each person gets 11 gold, 63 silver, 40 electrum, and 26 copper. Since Gimblyn already has one of the diamonds, Kama gives the remaining two to both Xora and Stormsong.

As for the three potions of healing, Kama doles one to each to the others. He inquires if anyone wants the Potion of Flying and freely gives it to whomever shows interest. Kama also asks if someone wants to hold onto the enchanted berries given by Reidoth for dealing with the dragon Venomfang.

When he has a chance, Kama visits the Lionshield Coster to sell the shortsword, dagger, and morningstar. The maul he had been carrying around is reluctantly sold as well, as the half-orc has a new-found interest in the magical longsword.

Kama then seeks out Mirna Dendrar and returns her family's fine emerald pendant.

Finally, he stops by the Shrine of Tymora for a consultation with Sister Garaele. He confesses the close calls twice-experienced on his journey through the woods (in addition to the one time here in Phandalin), saved each time by the presence of his dragonborn companion. Kama has come to the suspicion that the Goddess of Luck must be acting through Xora in keeping him upright, and expresses an interest in representing Tymora on his path towards becoming a paladin.

Should Tymora accept, Kama visits the forge to see about crafting the one gold piece remaining from the hobgoblin encounter into Tymora's holy symbol.

Finally, whatever money was acquired from his sale of the extra weapons is used to buy food and drink for the party, and anyone else that happens to be around.

Garaele is ecstatic at your revelation and newfound devotion to Lady Luck. She assures you that once your tasks are done, you will always have a home at her shrine.

You find out that the shrine has a single, simple residence behind it, which she currently stays in. She seems very shy about offering that to you, and waits to find out if you'd take her up on the offer. You get the feeling that your decision is very important to her.

She writes a note to the smith, requesting that he allow you to use his tools to work on your holy symbol. He gladly accepts Garaele vouching for you and allows you full access to his smithy.
Aug 13, 2016 3:01 am
Stormsong, of course, declines the diamond and potion, as these were clearly acquired before he joined up with the party.

Not knowing his status with his new group of traveling companions, he says, "It was a pleasure making your acquaintance, and I quite enjoyed fighting along side you all. If you're interested, I'd very much like to continue traveling with you -- it's wonderfully eventful! I'm filling up my notebook with prose and lyrics. Now then, where can someone find good drink, food, and company in this town? I think I'll play for my supper. "

Before he set off on his own errands, Kama points out the Stonehill Inn to Stormsong. "That's where we've been staying. They're pretty good." He then holds out his hand to the goliath. "I, for one, would be glad to have you along. You've proven yourself back at the castle, that's for sure. I also won't lie: we've got orcs on the horizon that threaten this very town, and they're probably our next task while we wait for Gundren to get better."
OOC:
Later, at the shrine...
Kama carefully considers Garaele's offer. "That's very kind," he says. "It's always good to have a place to call home. I think, once we've finished our tasks, it would be nice to return."

At the forge, Kama works metal to craft a simple bracket in the shape of a horseshoe to hold the gold coin in place. He attaches the bracket to a chain, which can lie across his waist like a belt or harness, or around his neck.
OOC:
Let me know if I need to roll anything. I have proficiency in smith's tools, but not jeweler's.
Aug 14, 2016 1:30 pm
Gimblyn was overwhelmed from the adventure at the castle. He wasn't used to the fast pace life of an adventurer. The forest gnome was more of a scatterbrained wanderer. None the less, he enjoyed his new companions and had followed them back to town. Their poise made the exploring feel safe, though more likely to run into trouble.

Tumtwig wasn't ready to explore town thoroughly. He found a nice spot in front of the Stonehill Inn and told Kama that's where he would be. The forest gnome wanted to work on his craft and make a respectable bow for Xora... Gimblyn believes his bows are better than any other.
OOC:
I want Gimblyn to start crafting a bow on his down time. Not sure how long that takes, but he is putting a lot of thought, effort and patience into it. :)

I nod to Stormstrong. "You have proven yourself. If you are to join us, I must purchase additional supplies. Once that is done, I will join you. Sing well." It's been some time since I've heard a performance. Music had been such an important part of my clan. I didn't even realize I missed it until now. Perhaps one day I will have the chance to play the drums again.

I realize quickly that I have let my mind wander. I snap back to attention so I may focus on the task at hand. First I will go in search of proper cookware and food storage supplies. Clearly the meals I have provided for my traveling companions could use some improvement. The wild game and fresh fruit I've foraged was basic. Good for a day's travel, but lacking in the complexity that proper seasoning and complementary dry goods would provide. I go in search of additional spices, cheeses, grains and some ale. I tell myself that well-prepared meals will help maintain morale, and therefore performance. It is for the good of our group that I do this!

Once I've found what supplies I can afford, I will forage for any game, fruits, or nuts that can be dried or stored for longer periods of time.
Aug 15, 2016 7:19 pm

Did you want to take on one of the side quests while you wait for him to wake up? There are a few:

1. The orcs at Wyvern Tor to the east
2. Going to see the banshee, Agatha, to find out about the location of a spellbook for Sister Garaele
3. Below:

The morning after you get back, as you are eating breakfast, a fit, silver-haired elf enters the Stonehill Inn and peers around as if looking for someone. Spotting your little group, he walks over and with a friendly smile says, "My name is Daran Edermath, and I run the orchard in town. You've all made a name for yourselves, saving Sildar and Gundren like that! I was wondering if you'd be interested in performing a small task for me while Gundren recovers?"
Aug 17, 2016 7:41 pm
Kama has not forgotten about the orcs, nor the banshee. "The orcs are the closest threat. You remember what the townmaster said. Without the Redbrands, there's nothing stopping the orcs from their raids. Plus we sorta took an advance on the bounty, so I think we have to take care of that first."

He turns to Daran and gestures for the elf to join their table. "Come, sit and eat. Tell us of this task and maybe we can fit it in somewhere."
OOC:
Kama has 15 gold to spend on tavern food and drink, and treated whomever was around that night. If there's leftover coin, he'll treat breakfast, too.
Edit to add: "We might also be able to run that banshee errand, since Wyvern Tor is seemingly south of Conyberry."

Daran gladly sits down and begins his tale, "I am often out and about when not tending the orchard, keeping an eye out for the outlying farms and the prospectors looking for good mining locations. Lately, the prospectors have been telling me that there has been someone poking around the Old Owl Well, out to the northeast of here. At first I thought nothing of it, until they told me that if they got too near, they were chased out by the undead," he pauses to take a drink of water before continuing, "I know there's an old Netheril tower out there, so I'm a bit concerned that whoever is prowling around is trying to harness old magics and may cause trouble."
Aug 17, 2016 8:36 pm
"What is the Old Owl Well?" asks Kama. "I mean, is it really a well out in the middle of nowhere?"
Aug 17, 2016 8:54 pm
"Not really in the middle of nowhere, no. It's just in the hills south of Conyberry, I can show you where on a map..." he says, and then shows you on a map.
OOC:
Agatha, Wyvern Tor, and the Old Owl Well are all northeast of here in basically a north-south line

"Well, all of these errands are in the same general area," says Kama, looking at the others in the group to gauge their willingness to take on these tasks. "I think since we'll have to pass by, it shouldn't be out of our way to check things out."

Kama's voice turns low, "It's not named after an owlbear, is it?"
Aug 17, 2016 11:16 pm
"No, certainly not," Daran laughs, "Have trouble with them in the past, have you?"
Aug 17, 2016 11:23 pm
Kama suppresses a cough. "No, no, of course not. Well, yes. But I got better."
Aug 18, 2016 3:47 am
I am satisfied with both my supply run and the successful hunt. I give half of the venison to the Shrine of Tymora as I won't be able to carry everything myself. Surely they would know where to best distribute the food. I fabricate the remaining meat and carefully wrap and label each cut, salting and curing smaller pieces and lightly smoking other sections for jerky. The rabbit and vegetables will keep for a week or more in cooler weather so those I will wrap and pack.

At breakfast the next morning, I listen as Kama plans our next move. "We help where we can. That is why we are here. If there is an owlbear threat, we can take care of that as well. We are better prepared than before." I nod towards the elf in a serious tone.
Aug 18, 2016 4:56 am
While strumming his lute, Stormsong, in a not so serious tone, laughs and says, "Orc marauders, old magic that employs the undead, and a wicked banshee?!? These tales really do write themselves! I'm in!"

Singing to himself, "I once ran across an old BANshee, in life a fair elf tall and fancy, she thought me a crook when I asked for her book, then *poof* I'm now a chimPANzee!"
Aug 18, 2016 4:05 pm
"Wonderful!" Daran says, happy that you've accepted the job, "You are as benevolent as I had hoped. Great song!" he says with a laugh, clearly amused by the huge bard.
Aug 18, 2016 4:06 pm
So, you've decided to accept these three tasks. How do you want to go about it? What preparations will you make?
Aug 18, 2016 4:23 pm
"Xora, how are you at navigating the mountains?" asks Kama. The map seems to indicate a crow's fly from Phandalin would be the most-direct route to Wyvern Tor, but that doesn't include searching for the orcs' specific location. "Otherwise, I'm thinking maybe we take the road to Conyberry, visit Agatha, then turn south for Old Owl Well and see about those undead. Finally hunt down those orcs and turn them away.

"How does that sound to everybody?"

Already equipped for travel, Kama will shop for another potion of healing. He also inquires where the four horses were led off to after the party's initial run-in with the Redbrands.
Aug 18, 2016 8:21 pm
Tipping his hat at Daran for the compliment, the bard asks, "What sort of undead was reported? I'm hoping for zombies -- much easier to rhyme than skeleton."

After reviewing the map, Stormsong makes a mental note to replenish road rations, tune his instruments, treat his leather armor and boots, sharpen and oil his weapons, and, as always, check the condition of his rope, repairing or replacing as needed.

To Kama, "Sounds like a fine plan," and joins him on his quest for healing potions.

Sister Garaele will provider healing potions at-cost, 25 gold pieces each, and she has 4 available. She also gives you a jeweled silver comb and tells you that in order to get an answer to the question, you'll likely have to gift her the comb and play to her vanity. The questions she wants an answer to is: "What do you know of the location of a spellbook penned by the wizard Bowgentle?"

You are able to get the horses back in your possession as well, which will speed your travel immensely.
Aug 18, 2016 8:56 pm
Kama will spend 50 gold pieces from his personal fund for two of the healing potions.
Aug 19, 2016 12:11 am
The gnome continued to work on the bow, he decided to make this one... extra amazing. He is ready to continue on with the party whenever they are ready. Gimblyn isn't particularly social and even though Phandalin isn't a large town, it can be quite overwhelming for him.
Aug 19, 2016 2:35 am
Stormsong scrapes together 21 gp and 8 ep for a potion of healing.

"Friend Gimblyn -- do you need any supplies, spell components, anything? I'd be happy to pick things up for you while you craft."
Aug 19, 2016 5:31 am
Tumtwig looks up at his companion for a moment before rummaging through his pouch.

"I swear, I swear I had some in here...."

After thirty seconds of looking, the gnome nodded his head at Stormsong.

I need some leather and fleece, not much though. Just small pieces, friend."

He smiled and continued to work on his bow. Gimglyn put so much pride into crafting the best equipment possible. No one can build a bow better than he could, or so he thinks.
Aug 20, 2016 11:28 am
"Consider it done, friend."

Stormsong pauses briefly to casually admire Gimblyn's handiwork before leaving.

OOC:
He is familiar with bows as a soldier, though not proficient. Does he notice anything extra special or flawed?
"Excellent work, master crafter!"

He then leaves to stretch his legs in a town walkabout, keeping an eye out for a leather workshop, armory, or scrap heap to gather little pieces of leather and a farm or other livestock pen to collect a little fleece.

Kama inspects the tack and harness for each horse, ready to head out as soon as everyone is able.
Aug 23, 2016 4:13 am
With a flurish and a kiss on the hand, Stormsong thanks the inkeeper's wife for another lovely breakfast and for his comfortable stay in their establishment. "If you would be so kind, could you please check in on our friend Gundren from time to time as he recovers from his awful time in captivity?"

Hearing the cocks crow and sensing the breaking of dawn, he turns to his companions around the table and says, "It looks like a fine day to adventure! Let's pay a call on 'Ms' Agatha in Conyberry -- perhaps she'll let us browse her library."

He then stands and passes a small pouch to Gimblyn, "I hope this will suffice, friend crafter."
Aug 23, 2016 4:45 am
I nod to everyone at the table. "If we're to complete our tasks, we must leave as quickly as possible."
Aug 23, 2016 5:09 am
"We'll be taking the Triboar Trail," Kama says, though it's probably obvious to everyone. "While it's a marked path, the last time we were on it we got assaulted by goblins. But, maybe we'll have some temporary peace as they figure out their next leader." He climbs onto the saddle and gives a nod.
Aug 23, 2016 5:22 am
Stormsong admires the big horse that Kama has provided for him, and strokes it's neck before mounting.

He is curious about this half-orc who speaks of peace, and casually appraises him. "Clearly there is more than meets the eye with this one," he thinks, as he prepares his mind for the creative flow that often comes with a morning ride, the beginnings of a tale with a kindly but powerful beast-man as the hero are taking shape...
Aug 24, 2016 1:48 am
Gimblyn missed the forest, however his crafting and new adventure ahead kept his mind busy. Stormsong was very kind for getting the materials. The bard seemed genuine, but the gnome didn't put much thought into it after the initial impression. The horse towered over Tumtwig, casting an intimidating shadow. He looked over at his companions.

"I swear... I need something more my size! Haha."

Using his staff, Gimblyn jumped up onto his horse with a large bug-eyed grin. The forest gnome was ready to take off.
Aug 24, 2016 4:24 pm
It's a quiet couple of days as you head to the ruins of Conyberry. Anyone familiar with the region knows that it was overrun years ago by a barbarian horde and never rebuilt. From the ruins of the small town, there is an old trail leading northwest into the forest.

The forest grows dark and still as the trail winds deeper into the trees. Heavy vines and thick layers of moss drape the branches, and the air is noticeably colder than it was in the ruined village. Rounding a bend in the trail, you see a screen made from the warped branches of trees standing close together, woven into a dome-like shelter in the shadows. A low doorway leads inside.
Aug 24, 2016 4:45 pm
Kama dismounts and ties the reins to a nearby tree. He approaches the doorway, but does not yet cross the threshold. Instead, he knocks on the frame. "Hello?"
Aug 24, 2016 6:42 pm
Gimblyn follows suits, walking behind Kama. He takes his appropriate sized wooden staff and knocks on the frame as well.
Aug 24, 2016 7:23 pm
I follow along the treeline in an arc away from the frame until I'm nearly in line with it. I keep an arrow on hand just to be safe as I keep an eye out for any surprises in the vicinity.

Tumtwig looks at his companions with a small grin. "Shall we?" The gnome slipped past the large Kama and attempted to enter the building.
Aug 24, 2016 10:58 pm
Kama takes a deep breath and checks that he still has the offering. "Hello?" he repeats, politely, even as the gnome slips past his legs. "My name is Kama. May I come in?" No sense in presenting themselves as a threat.

Gimblyn steps into the dwelling. A home of sorts is sheltered within the dome of woven branches. It is sparsely furnished with chests, shelves, a table, and a reclined couch, all of it old and of elven craft.

A few moments after entering the air grows cold, and a powerful feeling of dread grips you. A cold, pale light flickers in the air, rapidly taking on the form of a female elf, her hair and robes waving in a spectral wind. She might have been beautiful once, but a hateful expression twists her features now. "Foolish mortals," she snarls. "What do you want here? Do you not know it is death to seek me out?"
Aug 24, 2016 11:17 pm
"My lady," says Kama, stepping inside to instinctively pull Gimblyn back. "We, uh... we have come seeking knowledge. We have a present, a token of our appreciation, as a gift for your audience." He pulls out the jeweled silver comb and holds it up.

Aug 24, 2016 11:31 pm
Kama coughs to clear his throat. "What do you know of the location of a spellbook penned by the wizard Bowgentle?" he intones from memory.
Aug 24, 2016 11:38 pm

Tall and tan and young and lovely,
The elven maid Agatha goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes,
"Aaah…"

When she walks, she’s like a willow tree
That swings so cool and sways so gent-i-ly
That when she passes, each one she passes goes,
"Aaah…"

Oh, but he watches so sadly -
How can he tell her he loves her?
Yes, he would give his heart gladly,
But each day when she walks to the sea,
She looks straight ahead – not at he…

Kama gives his thanks and politely takes his leave. No sense in stirring the pot when everything's done. He writes down the banshee's answer and repeats it to himself in order to memorize it; it will be a while until he can relay the information.

It's only midday now, but you're sure that you won't be able to make it to the Old Owl Well before dusk. Where would you like to make camp for the night?
Aug 25, 2016 4:40 pm
"What do you say about making camp in Conyberry?" asks Kama, looking up at the sky.
Aug 25, 2016 5:01 pm
Although he'd be more comfortable in the hills, Stormsong sees the wisdom in the more defensible ruins. "Sounds perfect."

Aug 26, 2016 2:07 am
Kama shrugs. "The recon sounds about right," he says. "What happens after that depends on what we find."
Aug 26, 2016 6:37 am
"I hope we find some more friends... Not everyone out there can be trying to kill us, I swear." The gnome checks his pack for all his supplies and admires the work he put into the bow last night. Gimblyn was ready to adventure further.
Aug 29, 2016 5:06 pm
You begin heading south the next morning. The mostly flat ground soon turns to rolling foothills, slowing your progress just a little bit. It's several hours before you come across what you're looking for. As you crest a low ridge, you spy the crumbling ruins of an old watchtower standing amid the rugged hills. The place is so old that the walls are only mounds of rubble enclosing a courtyard of sorts, adjacent to the broken stump of an old tower. A colorful tent has been set up in the middle of the courtyard, but no on is in sight. The smell of death wafts up from the direction of the old tower.
Aug 29, 2016 6:12 pm
"Either there's been a recent battle," muses Kama, "or we've found the undead. Though I wonder why they call this place a well?"

Xora can't see a well from the ridge that you are all standing on.

Stormsong makes his way down to a gap in the rubble and peers in. He sees an old well in the courtyard, which wasn't visible from their spot on the wall. He also sees about a dozen zombies stumbling around near the tent. They don't seem to have noticed him.
Aug 31, 2016 4:19 pm
Kama waits patiently while the other scout the ruins. He leans over to Gimblyn and mutters, "So, is it just me, or is it strange that such a colorful tent stands in the middle of this courtyard, vibrant and intact, while everything around it is falling to pieces?"
Aug 31, 2016 5:39 pm
Stormsong returns with his information.
"If we want to know more, we have to deal with the zombies. If none of you have been given power over the undead by a holy order, then I'd suggest picking off as many as we can from a distance, then have some fun! Bows first, javelins second, magic whenever?"
Aug 31, 2016 5:46 pm
"Sounds good," says Kama, rising to his feet and drawing Talon. "I'll keep an eye on that tent and make ready for any charge. Sorry, but I didn't think to get a bow back in Phandalin."
Aug 31, 2016 5:56 pm
Stormsong prepares his javelins and replies, ""Never did get the hang of a bow."

He moves up to get within his 30' range, if possible without moving past the cover of the ruined wall, and waits for Xora's first arrow. He throws her a wink as a signal and in an effort to inspire her aim (bardic inspiration 1d6). He'll throw and retreat to keep range attacking, assuming the zombies give chase, until it's time to engage.

"Those bows back in town are as good as these old walls. I'll show you a bow, the one I'm making will be quite special."

The forest gnome keeps his distance from the zombies. He agreed with the half-orc that the tent was oddly placed. Thinking to stir the pot of undead, Gimblyn spoke a few words and aimed a fire bolt for the brightly colored tent.

"What is the meaning of this interruption?" he shouts as he sees you.

"Well, I swear, I heard stories of this place before..." the forest gnome skips forward a little examining the red wizard more thoroughly. His awkward bug-eyes made him seem harmless, even when breaking personal space. "An old druid friend of mine, Conanthum, used to live near these parts. He has recently waddled somewhere north, too warm for him here. Doesn't like anything green, I swear." Gimblyn waddles around imitating what his druid friend would look like, pretending to be repulsed by anything green. "Conan, my good friend, had told me that this place was built under the influence of a Bone Naga...." He paused for dramatic effect. "I know! Haha, just thinking about that creature scares me. I wouldn't want to dabble in too much of it's stuff, if it is still around." The gnome starts swinging his small staff around like he has lost interest in his own ramble then looks at the wizard again. "But, yeah... I swear, this banshee is a bugger. 'Mad auld lassie!' We can get answers for you though, wizard."

Tumtwig hops himself closer to Kama now.

Kost looks you up and down, as if deciding whether to trust you or not, "Wait here," he says, walking back to what's left of his tent.

He comes outside with a fine wand made of yew. "She is purportedly a spellcaster of no small skill and will appreciate this gift. I just want to know the name of the wizard who built this tower," he say, handing the wand over.
OOC:
It is a wand of Magic Missiles:

He plants Xora's two javelins into the ground by the group, perhaps a gesture to the Red Wizard, and touches the coin around his neck. "Be bold, and Tymora watch over us."

Sep 19, 2016 4:45 pm
The zombies on Kama all strike out at him, two of them landing blows (6 and 4 damage)

Stormsong is struck hard by one of the zombies (7 damage), but the other, still reeling from his attacks, misses badly.

Gimblyn is also struck once by the zombies that are attacking him (6 damage)

Xora does not weather the attacks from her zombies well at all and both of them land a powerful hit on her (6 and 5 damage)

Kost, unable to see Kama through the horde of zombies, steps around to see the rest of the party and launches a volley of magic missiles at Stormsong (12 damage).
OOC:
Back to your turn!
Sep 19, 2016 5:02 pm
Taking the blow from the zombie to get his blood flowing, Stormsong instinctively draws upon the strength of the mountain as he absorbs three bolts of force from the necromancer with a primal scream!

He then swings his longsword to finish the wounded zombie. (Adding bardic inspiration to the attack roll, if I think I need it after seeing the roll)

Rolls

Longsword, damage - (1d20+5, 1d8+3)

1d20+5 : (6) + 5 = 11

1d8+3 : (7) + 3 = 10

Stone's Endurance (damage reduction) - (1d12+1)

(2) + 1 = 3

Sep 19, 2016 5:05 pm
Stormsong takes a large chunk out of the already-wounded zombie. It staggers under the blow, but refuses to go down.
OOC:
Unfortunately, you can't bardically inspire yourself
Sep 19, 2016 5:13 pm
OOC:
Ok, thanks -- I never tried it, but I saw someone use it at a recent Con -- which evidently was a bad ruling.

That dang zombie fortitude!!
Sep 19, 2016 5:37 pm
Kama swings his longsword, trying to clear some space. He mentally wills himself to continue fighting despite the zombie blows, knowing that Tymora's blessing must be maintained.

Rolls

Concentration - (1d20+4)

(10) + 4 = 14

Second Wind - (1d10+2)

(6) + 2 = 8

Talon vs Zombie, Blessed; Damage - (1d20+6, 1d4, 1d10+4)

1d20+6 : (16) + 6 = 22

1d4 : (1) = 1

1d10+4 : (9) + 4 = 13

Xora, Gimblyn?
Sep 21, 2016 12:58 am
I clutch my chest for a moment, feeling a wave of healing energy wash over me. Then I move as far away from the zombies as I can, keeping them in my sights.

Rolls

Cure Wounds - (1d8+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

Sep 21, 2016 5:32 am
OOC:
that probably should have been my move, too...
Sep 21, 2016 4:02 pm
Xora's wounds begin to knit themselves up as she moves away from the zombies. The creatures take a couple of lumbering swings at her, but she is easily able to avoid them.
Sep 22, 2016 5:30 am
Gimglyn, feeling uncomfortable in the middle of battle, retreats back 20 feet. He quickly turns and hurls a fire bolt at a zombie near Kama.

Rolls

Fire bolt! - (1d20+6, 1d10)

1d20+6 : (7) + 6 = 13

1d10 : (1) = 1

Sep 26, 2016 6:06 pm
Kama finally manages to land a solid blow and fells one of the zombies on him, and it doesn't get back up.

Gimblyn rushes away from the zombies, who can't seem to land a blow on his fleeing form. he turns around and launches a bolt of fire at one of the zombies on Kama, but barely scorches the thing.
OOC:
Enemy Turn!
Sep 26, 2016 6:12 pm
The zombies surrounding Kama continue beating on him, but miraculously only one lands a solid hit (9 damage).

Stormsong also takes a heavy blow from the zombies on him (7 damage)

Xora's zombies attempt to catch up, but they are a bit too slow to keep up with her.

The zombies on Gimblyn continue to follow him, but aren't quite able to close the distance.

Kost growls and launches a trio of magical missiles at Xora, stinging and singeing her (9 total damage)
OOC:
Back to your turn!
Sep 26, 2016 6:25 pm
Kama taps into his inner reserve, trying to whittle down the four zombies surrounding him. He spins, drawing Talon across in a close-quarter style of attack to bring the cutting edge to bear.

Rolls

Second Wind - (1d10+2)

(6) + 2 = 8

Concentration - (1d20+4)

(12) + 4 = 16

Talon vs Zombie, Damage - (1d20+6, 1d4, 1d10+4)

1d20+6 : (20) + 6 = 26

1d4 : (1) = 1

1d10+4 : (3) + 4 = 7

Critical Damage - (1d10+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

Savage Attacks (extra damage) - (1d10)

(3) = 3

Sep 26, 2016 6:28 pm
Kama swings his blade as hard as he can and cuts the head off of one zombie and then halfway through the chest of another, taking both down!
OOC:
You already used Second Wind, but DAMN that was a good hit!
Sep 26, 2016 6:34 pm
OOC:
Thanks! I forgot to mark it off, so I'll update my HP accordingly.
Sep 26, 2016 6:40 pm
I continue to back away as far as I can while keeping Kost in my sights. He is our biggest threat. With a whisper, I aim towards his head and release my arrow.
OOC:
Casting Hail of Thorns

Rolls

Arrows - (1d20+7, 1d8+3)

1d20+7 : (2) + 7 = 9

1d8+3 : (2) + 3 = 5

Using inspiration! - (1d20+7, 1d8+3)

1d20+7 : (19) + 7 = 26

1d8+3 : (5) + 3 = 8

Hail of thorns damage if failed Dex save (or half) - (1d10)

(6) = 6

Sep 26, 2016 6:41 pm
OOC:
You're blessed, can add 1d4 to your attack roll.
Sep 26, 2016 6:42 pm
OOC:
Dude should really wear some armor

OOC:

OOC:
My bad... that would have hit a zombie, not a wizard lol

I really need to go to bed early tonight!
Sep 26, 2016 6:45 pm
Xora's aim is spot on and her arrow slams into his chest, knocking him several steps backward, but he smiles as he realizes that he will live, until the thorns spray out from within his body, killing him from the inside.
Sep 26, 2016 7:54 pm
Stormsong will disengage and maneuver to keep out of reach of the zombies, while they still out number the group.

He summons powerful healing magic from his music and uses it to bolster his own strength.
OOC:
down to 2! How's everyone else doing?

Rolls

Healing Word 2nd Level - (2d4+3)

(12) + 3 = 6

Sep 26, 2016 8:22 pm
OOC:
Looking good at 18/34
Sep 26, 2016 10:18 pm
OOC:
Kama is down to 8/31
Sep 26, 2016 10:24 pm
OOC:
Clearly I need to wait till Kama falls over again before reviving him.
Sep 27, 2016 10:39 am
Tumtwig is honestly scared that he could be easily mauled to death by these zombies. Moving back again, the small forest gnome conjures another bolt of fire to hurl at the closest zombie.

Rolls

Fire time - (1d20+6, 1d10)

1d20+6 : (17) + 6 = 23

1d10 : (4) = 4

Sep 27, 2016 9:40 pm
The zombie that was hit by the fire bolt staggers to a halt and burns silently, then begins walking around aimlessly, as do all of the others. Kost's mutilated body hits the floor, and the zombies lose interest in your group completely.
OOC:
The zombies no longer have a will guiding them and have stopped fighting you.
You gain 300 xp for this battle!
Sep 27, 2016 10:30 pm
Kama takes his time to approach and dispatch each individual zombie, to ensure they won't bother anyone else.
OOC:
Do I need to roll on these, or will it be automatic?

"What now?" I look around the area for anything else of interest.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+5)

(14) + 5 = 19

Sep 27, 2016 11:38 pm
Kama lines up a swing and practices his technique with the longsword. "See if the fella has anything in his tent. We rest, then head south and track those orcs."

Once the last zombie is taken care of, Kama peers into the old tower that the necromancer was investigating.

Perception - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Sep 28, 2016 6:15 pm
The ruins that you snuck into were actually the walls of the tower at one point. It must have been HUGE in its time, but it's mostly gone now.

You find the Wand of Magic Missiles on he dead wizard's body. Inside the tent you find: 35 sp, 20 ep, 20 gp, 5 pp, one pearl (100 gp), a potion of healing, a scroll of darkness in a bone tube, and a tiny jeweled box (25 gp) containing a ring
Sep 28, 2016 6:21 pm
OOC:
What time is it?
Sep 28, 2016 6:23 pm
OOC:
Mid afternoon. You probably have a good 4-5 hours before dusk
Sep 28, 2016 6:29 pm
After ensuring that nothing else resides in the ruins, Kama looks up at the sky. "Kinda early to make camp, but a bit late to head out for orc-hunting. Whaddya say we scout a bit to the south, but rest here overnight before fully going after them?"

He ignores most of the loot, letting the others sift through first.
Sep 28, 2016 6:48 pm
Gimblyn nods to not setting up camp this early and picks up the tiny jeweled box, "I swear there has to be more to this place than broken walls..." He walks up to the old well and stretches his little body to look down. "Xora, can you breath underwater like a fish? I can only swim like an owl." The forest gnome motions the box in hand to his companions to see if it's fair to take it.
Sep 28, 2016 8:04 pm
"Scouting sounds good -- although you and I may want to get patched up a bit before heading out into the wild."
He'll also wait to see how the loot works itself out, not confident that he did much at all in that last encounter.
OOC:

"Yes, let's take a short rest," says Kama. He reaches up and claps Stormsong on the shoulder, letting divine power restore the goliath's health.
OOC:
In addition to Cure Wounds (last spell of the day), using Lay on Hands for 10 more Hit Points (no more LoH until a long rest)

Yep, with the CON mod on the original roll I'd only be up to 25/31.
Sep 28, 2016 8:45 pm
Stormsong tends to his wounds as well, while strumming on his lute to create a relaxing atmosphere.

OOC:
Looks like you've all taken your rest now
You have a few hours before dark if you want to try searching for the orc camp. The spot you were told that they'd be at is pretty vague, but you'd estimate it's about six miles south of your current location.
Sep 29, 2016 7:02 pm
"Maybe we'll scout a few miles southward and get the lay of the land," says Kama. "It'll give us time to get back and make camp, and we'll have the whole day to find those orcs."
Sep 29, 2016 7:45 pm
"I'm in."

Stormsong checks his gear for scouting, tucking everything in, tightening straps -- nothing to snag on a branch.

"We're headed south, right?," and begins to move away from the clearing. Before he leaves the rise, he looks off into the distance to the south at the mountains. It's not home, buit it sure looks like home."
Sep 29, 2016 8:47 pm
The forest gnome begins to hop behind his tall companion as if they were going for a late evening hike. Gimblyn's staff popped him high with each step giving him a better few while he scouts. His bug eyes were looking for a small creature, engaging with animals is a pleasure for forest folk.
OOC:
Gimblyn wants to find a small creature to speak with.
Sep 30, 2016 3:56 pm
The area to the south of town quickly becomes rolling hills, severely limiting your view of the area. It seems like it's going to be a bit of a pain to find the orc encampment.

Gimblyn finds a small mouse to speak to about half a day into their walk.
OOC:
Gimblyn, what do you want to say to the mouse?

Tomorrow, you'll have to beat a DC 15 Survival check (which you can make once per hour) in order to track the orcs to their camp
Oct 1, 2016 8:40 pm
Gimblyn squats down to his new mouse friend and smiles "I swear I've met you before, little friend." he points back randomly into the forest, "Saw some bear poop if you want to salvage it for nutrients, or a berry patch... my companions over here and I are scouting for some nasty orcs. We hear they have a camp in the area." The forest gnome rubs the mouses nose gently. Have ya seen any orcs lately, friend?" Tumtwig finished his sentence with the same smile he started with.
Oct 3, 2016 1:01 pm
The rest of you watch as Gimblyn bends down and squeaks to a local mouse, apparently able to understand what it's saying.

"Mean pig people? They on big mountain that way," he squeaks at you pointing south of here, "They not nice, we stay far away from them."
OOC:
You will have advantage on your survival checks to find the orc camp tomorrow
Oct 3, 2016 3:42 pm
Kama leans over to Xora and whispers, "Can you do that?"
Oct 3, 2016 4:28 pm
"No. I do not typically have conversations with prey. This is... peculiar."
Oct 4, 2016 2:17 am
"Fascinating..."
Quietly walking up to Gimblyn, Stormsong asks, "What did the little guy say, master scorcerer?"
Oct 6, 2016 4:08 am
"Perhaps we are meant to leave them alone in their... conversation?" I take several steps southward, listening for any trouble. Or perhaps just listening to the sounds of nature.

As Gimblyn finds information from the local fauna, Kama tries to gain a lay of the land around them. He looks to determine the path an orc might take to approach the ruins, which hills provide a good vantage point for reconnaissance and which seem defensible.

Rolls

Survival - (1d20+2)

(11) + 2 = 13

"Out little friend here says the orcs are that way," Gimblyn says, pointing off to the south, "but he doesn't go over there much, too dangerous."

Xora hears nothing to the south that sounds dangerous, it's actually quite quiet this morning.

Kama climbs up the nearest him and looks southward but everything looks the same; gently rolling hills in all directions. Off in the far distance you could swear you see smoke, but then it's gone and you can't determine exactly where it was.
OOC:
Assuming there's nothing else you'd wanna do? You will have advantage on Survival checks tomorrow, so feel free to make them whenever :)
Oct 6, 2016 2:49 pm
"Back to the ruins for camp," Stormsong assumes, and hikes back to the clearing. After downing some excellent grub from Xora, he volunteers for first watch and idly strums his lute as the others catch some shut eye.
OOC:
should we all do checks as a group, or can Xora lead us?

While they camp, Kama meditates on the task at hand. Without knowing how many orcs there are, it may be a hard battle. He tries to come up with a plan to gain any advantage, even if it means conversing with the orcs to get them to drop their guard.
OOC:
Kama's Survival is +2

Gimblyn expresses not wanting to lead, his companions seemed more ready for orcs. The forest gnome would rather frolic with the small creatures.

Thanks for posting for me btw :)

Once dawn has come and gone and everyone is well-fed, I glance at the earth around us and in a matter of moments I've found the trail. It could not have been more obvious had they left a literal trail of bread crumbs. "This way."

Tumtwig was confident following Xora, she was hot in the trail of those careless orcs.
Oct 7, 2016 6:26 pm
Xora expertly leads the group in the direction that the mouse pointed them in and in almost no time you find what you're looking for. The faint smell of smoke hangs on the air as you ascend a rugged ridge on the lower slopes of the hill. Fifty yards away, a cave mouth opens up at the bottom of a ravine. Hunkered down by a boulder twenty yards outside the cave, keeping watch, is a single orc. It doesn't appear that he's noticed you yet.

I whisper to those around me. "Perhaps we can draw him towards us?"
Oct 10, 2016 2:13 am
"To capture?" asks Kama. "Not a bad idea. How would we get him to do that, though, without alerting anyone inside?"
Oct 10, 2016 1:01 pm
"Bunnies."

Stormsong explains his plan to the others for their thoughts:

He will create a series of minor illusions.

The orc guard is 90' away. He will stealth 30' toward the orc, and to the side. He will cast a minor illusion sound of lightly rustling leaves 30' away, and 30' from the orc. If the orc reacts, he'll create the illusion of 6 fat rabbits moving out of the foliage to forage. If the orc gives chase or aims an attack, the rabbits will all sit up, look at him, and dart into the foliage toward the party. If necessary to keep the orc in pursuit, he'll cast another sound illusion to draw him in.

"I swear if any real bunnies get hurt, I will be an emotional mess for the rest of our adventure!" The bug-eyed forest gnome looked off into the forest with watery and sad stare. "This orc should fall silently." Gimblyn nodded and crouched in a bush.

Kama, Xora, and Gimblyn move off silently into their hiding places as Stormsong moves forward to cast his spell. The orc perks up as the bush begins to shake and smiles widely as one bunny and then another pop their heads out. He begins to sneak forward, javelin ready to throw. The bunnies 'notice' him coming and begin to dart away, causing him to take a couple of running steps and throw his javelin at the bunnies. The javelin appears to hit one of the bunnies but doesn't seem to hurt it and he slows to a stop, growling and cursing at his terrible luck.

He moves forward to grab his javelin, putting him in the perfect position for an ambush. He is, at most, 30 feet from any of you and you have the surprise if you want to take it.

The orc wakes up several minutes later and looks around, panicked at what he sees. He calms after a moment and begins trying to talk through his gag.
Oct 13, 2016 8:43 pm
Kama tugs the gag slightly loose with the handle of a handaxe, letting the blade hover above the orc's face.
Oct 13, 2016 8:44 pm
"What you want? Me talk, me talk!" he says in orcish as the gag is loosened, showing typical orc loyalty.
Oct 13, 2016 9:18 pm
Kama begins his questioning in Orc, "How many in your warband here?"
Oct 13, 2016 9:22 pm
"There be Brughor, strongest fighter, Gog da ogre, and a little more than a hand of others," he says. You recognize that a "hand" must mean 5.
Oct 13, 2016 10:13 pm
Gimblyn, with an upset face, stomps up to the Orc. "And what about the GIRL!?" He swings a swift backhand across the orc's ugly face. "Brughor told me! Where is he keeping her, I swear!" The small forest gnome raised his backhand again. Tell me what's really going on, you beautiful turd. I don't have time for your nonsense!" Tumtwig slapped him across the face again.

Deception for obscure information - (1d20+6)

(8) + 6 = 14

Oct 14, 2016 6:34 am
The half-orc steps back over to Xora, staying out of her firing lane and allowing the gnome to take over interrogations. Facing away from the orc, Kama mutters quietly, "Warboss, maybe 6 or 7 plus an ogre. Orcs respect strength and power, so I figure if we take out this Brughor and Gog first, the others might be demoralized enough and become ineffective. What do you think?"
Oct 16, 2016 11:06 pm
"So how do we draw them out? More bunnies?"
Oct 17, 2016 1:26 am
"Good question," says Kama. He turns to the orc, and asks in Orcish, "What's your system for your watch? What signals do you use to call some of your boys for a little help?"
Oct 17, 2016 1:03 pm
The orc looks confusedly at Gimblyn, "Me not know anything, we has no girl here!"

"Glop usually just yell down into cave if bad stuff happen," he explains as if that's the only way to alert someone.
Oct 17, 2016 4:35 pm
"Don't think more bunnies would work," Kama, says, switching to Common for the benefit of the group. "Though perhaps we can set up by the cave mouth with Xora and Gimblyn at range, and I call out something trivial for one or two to assist me with?"
Oct 17, 2016 8:36 pm
"Sounds good."

Before approaching the cave, Stormsong gathers his friends and sings, in a low voice, an inspiring song from his boyhood, one used to inspire before war games. He sings a few bars, so that Bardic Inspiration flows through all of his companions.
OOC:
if I can take three rounds before we go in, I'd like to use all 3 of my BIs.

Bardic Inspiration -- You can inspire others through stirring words or music. To do so, you use a bonus action on your turn to choose one creature other than yourself within 60 feet of you who can hear you. That creature gains one Bardic Inspiration die, a d6.

Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the GM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time.
He approaches the mouth of the cave, hiding along the side so those inside wouldn't see him. If a group emerges including the ogre and leader, he'll cast faerie fire (violet) on the lot of them as his first action (DEX DC 13). If it's just an average orc, he'll save the spell and follow Kama's lead.
OOC:
1 action; Range: 60 Feet; Components: Verbal; Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Each object in a 20-foot cube within range is outlined by blue, green, or violet light (your choice). Any creature in the area when the spell is cast is also outlined in light if it fails a Dexterity saving throw. For the duration, objects and affected creatures shed dim light in a 10-foot radius. Any attack roll against an affected creature or object has advantage if the attacker can see it, and the affected creature or object can't benefit from being invisible.
Oct 19, 2016 4:44 pm
Kama replaces the gag around the orc's mouth, and follows the goliath to the cave. He looks back to check of Xora and Gimblyn are in position and ready.
Oct 19, 2016 4:55 pm
Peering into the mouth of the cave, you can see that the area is fairly open, with the expected orcs inside, the obvious leader is a huge orc with arms as big around as Kama's head, and the ogre sits in the corner, chewing on something that looks like a goblin leg.
Oct 19, 2016 5:30 pm
Realizing that the cave isn't as deep as he would have liked, Kama shakes his head and makes the abort motion to Stormsong. Time to come up with a different plan.

OOC:

Oct 19, 2016 7:10 pm
After backing away 60' or so, Stormsong sugggests, "Since they're huddled fairly close together, I can cast a spell from here that will make all but the quickest of them glow violet, making them much easier to hit. When they come out, I can suggest that the ogre walk back to the land he came from because the ogeress' miss him and have lots of food for him to eat. It usually works...After that we concentrate on the chief."

If there are no objections, he'll act.
OOC:
he doesn't want to waste the BI!!
Oct 19, 2016 7:21 pm
Kama nods. "Yes, that sounds good. Xora, you and Gimblyn find a better vantage point, but try to stay in cover. Orcs won't hesitate to charge your position even at this distance." The half-orc draws Talon and takes a deep breath, trying to steel himself against some of the scarier aspects of his father's stories. He then approaches the cave entrance to lie in wait for the orcs to emerge.

The orcs begin their charge at your group. Two of them make it to Kama and two make it to Stormsong's position (the leader and one other). The ogre climbs to his feet and grabs a large club and begins making his way over to your position.

One of them lands a glancing blow on Kama (7 damage).

The leader and his companion work together excellently, both of them landing a blow on Stormsong (9 and 13 damage).
OOC:
Four of the orcs, including the leader, have reached the front lines, while the other 3 are about ten feet back, rushing to join in the fray. The four in melee have all been affected by Faerie Fire. The ogre is 25 feet away from the combat now, but will probably be there in the next round.

Xora takes two orcs down and damages two more. Back to the enemy turn!
The orc still facing Kama takes a swing with his massive greataxe, but the experienced soldier is able to sidestep at the last moment, avoiding a potentially fatal blow.

The orcs facing Stormsong don't do as well as they did before, distracted by the screams behind them. They both miss badly.

The surviving orc from the group that was approaching from behind skips over the melee and heads straight for the dangerour archer. He steps up to Xora and tries a sidelong swipe with his axe, but Xora nimbly avoids the blow.

The ogre, seeing four gnomes where there should only be one, moves up to Gimblyn and raises his huge club, slamming it down and making one of the illusory gnomes disappear.

Suggestion

Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 30 feet; Components: V, M (a snake’s tongue and either a bit of honeycomb or a drop of sweet oil); Duration: Concentration, up to 8 hours

You suggest a course of activity (limited to a sentence or two) and magically influence a creature you can see within range that can hear and understand you. Creatures that can’t be charmed are immune to this effect. The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the course of action sound reasonable. Asking the creature to stab itself, throw itself onto a spear, immolate itself, or do some other obviously harmful act ends the spell. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it pursues the course of action you described to the best of its ability. The suggested course of action can continue for the entire duration. If the suggested activity can be completed in a shorter time, the spell ends when the subject finishes what it was asked to do. You can also specify conditions that will trigger a special activity during the duration. For example, you might suggest that a knight give her warhorse to the first beggar she meets. If the condition isn’t met before the spell expires, the activity isn’t performed. If you or any of your companions damage the target, the spell ends.

Oct 31, 2016 11:19 pm
"My preference would be to send him back as a warning to others, but that may result in a full scale invasion..."

Not liking where this thread of logic is leading, he proposes, "We could bring him with us back to Phandalin -- didn't they attack miners or caravans on the road?"
Nov 1, 2016 12:14 am
"I'm not sure," replies Kama. "The townmaster told us of the threat and where to find them, but I wasn't really paying attention. The orc is still our prisoner, so I agree about bringing him back to town. They can hold a trial and see to his rehabilitation."
Nov 1, 2016 12:41 am
The illusions' voices echoing his own, he spoke on the subject . "I swear, he needs to be nurtured to the goodness within him... But who do you trust to give him a fair trail?" losing focus, his spells pop out of existence. "I can't see the tested people of Phandalin as accepting as we might hope." Gimblyn looks at his tall companions and a slight mischievous smile hinted on his face, "I say we just let him go! We freed him of his foul crew and no we can free him from us... What do you guys say, I swear?"
Nov 1, 2016 12:51 am
"I'm open to that. Bringing him back to town may be equivalent to a death sentence that is still, if indirectly, on our hands. Besides, he was helpful. By the way, what's the loot situation? Does chief orc have anything good?"
Nov 1, 2016 2:06 am

Nov 3, 2016 4:28 pm
Kama goes to check on the bound orc and finds that he has been crawling like a worm and is about 20 feet from where you left him. He looks very panicked when he sees Kama coming to check on his and begins wiggling away slightly faster than before.
Nov 3, 2016 4:34 pm
Kama kneels next to Glop, planting the bloodied tip of Talon into the ground next to him. "You must have heard the fight," he calmly says in Orcish, leaning his sweaty face in close. "Brughor and the others are dead, Gog no more. Which now begs the question: what do we do with you?"
Nov 7, 2016 4:37 pm
The orc's eyes widen and he shakes his head wildly, worm-crawling a couple more feet away.
Nov 7, 2016 5:08 pm
Kama bites his lip to refrain from a chuckle, but he clamps a hand on the orc's ankle and drags him back to continue their conversation. "I'm not finished," he says, Orcish tongue emphasizing each syllable. "Let's be clear. You might see this blade and think, the half-breed killed them all. And you'd be wrong; I just took out one of your buddies.

So you'd think, the giant one looks strong, he must have smashed them! Again, not true, but he did get a few good licks in. The dragon? She must have ate them! Almost, but honestly you're not her type.

Wait, that just leaves the little one? Yeah. You remember the little guy? Slapped you around a bit, asked you weird questions? Well, I don't know if you noticed, but he's a little crazy. Okay, not a little; he's totally crazy. You heard that big boom? That was HIM.

Now look, I don't have much time. I got him distracted over there picking through Brughor's intestines looking for... whatever it is he wants; it ain't pretty. But soon he's going to remember that you're still around.

So you and me, we're practically related, right? I'd like to let you go, let you run off before the gnome decides he wants to wear you for undergarments. But I don't want to hear about you harassing the nice people from Phandalin over yonder, especially since the little one's got big ears and kinda lives around there.

Understand what I mean? No seriously, do you understand?"
Kama prepares to free the orc, should it comply with the threat.

The orc springs to his feet, mutters a few thanks, and rushes away.
Nov 7, 2016 7:36 pm
I watch as the orc is freed and runs off before turning to Kama. "What next?"
Nov 7, 2016 7:55 pm
"We go back, tell the townmaster the job is done," replies Kama. "Daran will want to know about Old Owl Well and the necromancer we drove off, and Sister Garaele needs her answer from Agatha. We'll check on Gundren and see if he's okay. If he is, we'll see about his mine; if not, we still have a green dragon up in Thundertree."
Nov 7, 2016 10:10 pm
"Back to Phandalin!
Maybe I'll buy a violin or mandolin.
I'm just a has-been wearing buckskin
trying to avoid the loony bin.

Begin to spin like a thin djinn with red skin on a linchpin
I'll be in Phandalin with a big grin above my chin
Against zombies & banshees & orcsies we win

Inspiration to Stormsong for that whimsical rhyme!
Nov 8, 2016 1:01 am
Gimblyn skips along side the group, quietly singing his large companion's tune. "We are off to Phandalin... Zombies and chins..." The gnome lost the words faster than he thought. "Banshees are big and have red skin. Buckskins. Bins of grins..." he continued to mumble amongst himself. He stopped skipping for a moment, "I swear, Kama... It was real nice of you to let him get off so easy. He ran off good, must 'ave scared him straight!" the gnome ditched the words and decided to whistle Stormsong's rhyme.
Nov 8, 2016 6:10 am
"He would have run off anyway," admits Kama as the group heads back to retrieve their horses. "Hopefully we gave him reason enough to keep running and not come back."
Nov 8, 2016 10:46 am
OOC:
How far of a travel back? Gimblyn will be working on the bow in his free time.
Nov 8, 2016 1:07 pm
OOC:
It'll be about 2-3 days to get back to town, depending on how fast you wanna move
Nov 8, 2016 2:46 pm
OOC:
We can travel at a normal pace. Kama doesn't think there's a rush right now to get back to Phandalin.
Nov 10, 2016 4:38 pm
It takes three days, traveling first through the rolling hills back to Conyberry, and then taking your time on the trail to get back to Phandalin.
OOC:
What do you wanna do first when you get back to town?
Nov 10, 2016 5:32 pm
Kama pays a visit to Townmaster Harbin to report their success with driving off the orcs. He is also curious about Sildar and the fate of Iarno and the Redbrands.
Nov 10, 2016 5:51 pm
Harbin's eyes pop wide open when you report that you've cleared out the orcs in Wyvern Tor, "Umm... well then, I suppose I had promised a reward, didn't I? Wait here," he says before moving into a back room. A couple of minutes later, he returns with two sacks of gold, "100 gold, as I said, and good enough for the work you did."

Mentioning Sildar, the townmaster sighs, "Ah yes, Sildar took Iarno and the Redbrands to Neverwinter with a caravan that left yesterday. He said that Gundren was ok, and left a note for you." He reaches into a cubby behind the desk and hands you a hand-written note:

I'm sorry I couldn't stay to let you know what I was doing, but the caravan is leaving in the morning and Phandalin doesn't have a big enough jail to house that many prisoners. I will be returning in a tenday, after I check up on some things in the city. Gundren awoke this morning and is quite anxious to speak to you all.

Sildar Hallwinter

PS. I've left a small monetary reward for all that you've done for the town. Don't let Harbin try to keep it from you!
Nov 10, 2016 5:56 pm
"Ah, good. Sildar also left something for us, didn't he?" Kama tucks the note into his vest and looks at Harbin expectantly.
Nov 10, 2016 6:01 pm
Harbin sighs and heads back into the room, coming out with significantly more gold this time, "There, you happy now?"
OOC:
You receive a total of 500 gold for saving Gundren and killing the leader of Cragmaw castle
Nov 10, 2016 6:05 pm
"Happy?" repeats Kama with a raised eyebrow. He then makes a show of deep thought and consideration. "Yes, I suppose I am, having fulfilled a promise to protect you and your citizens from internal and external threats.

"And you? You must be happy, too, with no orcs at your door and an empty jail?"

"Yes, of course. Thank you, from all of Phandalin, we are in your debt," He gives the thanks grudgingly, but appears to be sincere.
Nov 10, 2016 6:13 pm
Kama smiles, genuinely, and gives a wink. "You are welcome. And I thank you, Townmaster Harbin." He departs to rejoin the group, and divides the reward amongst everyone. Kama's next destination is Daran's orchard to report on the meeting - and subsequent displacement - of a necromancer at Old Owl Well.
OOC:
150 gold for each!
Nov 11, 2016 3:56 am
Gimblyn holds his share of 150 gold pieces, they were heavier than he expected. His face lit up, "I swear, I swear! This is an excellent reward for our travels!" The forest gnome's eyes glistened from the gold. He proudly stashed the loot in his pouch. "Shall we move along then?" he spoke to the group, but was patting Kama on the back... Or more so on the side of his leg, he was rather short comparatively.
Nov 11, 2016 2:30 pm
"We must check on our friend."
Nov 11, 2016 3:48 pm
Kama nods. "I can report to the others in town on my own; it's the least I can do after making such promises to them. Why don't you see what Gundren has to say?"
Nov 11, 2016 9:22 pm
Gimblyn nods as well. "Right, we'll go check on him." He begins walking in a direction before pulling a quick U-turn. "Hrmm... Why don't you lead the way, Xora. I don't seem to know the way" The small gnome smiled and waited to follow his companion.
Nov 11, 2016 9:30 pm
You head over to the shrine to Tymora, where Gundren is being taken care of. He is pacing anxiously back and forth, but looks up as you enter. You see that he looks better than before, but still pretty bandaged up and bruised.

"There ye are! Been waitin' fer ya to get back all day!" Gundren says, "Mind explaining what's goin' on here? I been hearin' rumors, but I'd like to hear the story from the source."
Nov 12, 2016 5:06 am
Stormsong tags along with Xora and Gimblyn.

He's wondering why we're seeing this dwarf we saved, and isn't sure what the dwarf is getting at. He figures it has to do with something before he joined.
Nov 15, 2016 4:55 pm
I head towards where I last saw Gundren recuperating.
Nov 15, 2016 5:14 pm
OOC:
I'll play that I stopped by the temple along with the party, instead of visiting Daran alone.
"I'm glad to see you, too, Master Rockseeker," says Kama, rather genuinely despite the opportunity for sarcasm. "It is good to see you with such spirit. I hope Sildar managed to speak with you before he set off?"

While he waits for Gundren's reply, Kama glances about to see if Sister Garaele is around.
Nov 15, 2016 5:27 pm
You can't see Sister Garaele, though you can hear some soft singing coming from a nearby room, which sounds like it's probably her.

"Aye, he stopped and gave me a little bit of what happened, but said that he only knows what ye've told 'im," he says, then walks over and shakes all of your hands, "Guess I never did thank ye for pullin' me hairy backside outta the fire I put it in! Thank ye, I owe ye one. How's a 10% cut sound, when I get everything up and runnin' here?"
Nov 15, 2016 5:43 pm
"Wonderful!" says Kama, returning the shake in a warrior's clasp. "Except I have NO idea what you're setting up here! You were rather secretive when you hired us in Neverwinter, though it's safe to assume it had something to do with your map?" Kama does remember the letter from the Black Spider showing interest in Gundren's map, but has little else to go on.
Nov 15, 2016 10:13 pm
Tumtwig awkwardly shakes his hand. "Wonderful!" the little gnome smiles at Kama with his proud bubbly eyes. Gimblyn was glad they were seen as do-gooders.
Nov 16, 2016 8:57 pm
Stormsong looks from Kama to Gundren, then Gimblyn back to Gundren, finally Xora and back to Gundren.

"You guys are putting me on -- that little map? That we found under the bugbear's bed? (Note to self; save that alliteration) And I suppose it leads to buried treasure? 'X' marks the spot, of course! Ahh hahhaha!" his booming laughter echoing off the walls of the shrine.

If Gimblyn is game, they dance a little jig together, laughing it up!

"No, I'm very serious. The map ye found will lead ye to Wave Echo Cave," he explains, lowering his voice quite a bit when he gives the name of the place.

He wracks his brain for any legend, song, or poem about Wave Echo Cave.

"Oh right!" says Kama, snapping his fingers in recollection. "Sildar spoke of that when we first met him."

The half-orc turns to Stormsong and Gimblyn. "This is Gundren Rockseeker. Xora and I were hired to help bring mining equipment here so that Gundren could set up his operation, but he got captured by the goblins and bugbears under orders from the Black Spider. You guys joined us as we were searching for him."

Kama returns his attention to Gundren. "Speaking of which, don't suppose you know who the Black Spider is? Was it that shapechanger we took out at the castle? You know, they were waiting for you here, too, as they got the Redbrands looking for anyone connected to you."
Nov 16, 2016 9:11 pm
Stormsong is not familiar with the tale of Wave Echo Cave.
Nov 16, 2016 9:14 pm
"Really? Hmm... I heard me captors speak of the Black Spider, but I never seen him meself. I suppose he must be the leader of this whole mess... Probably already at the Cave settin' up to steal me operation. I don't think it was the shifty one, for the time I was awake it seemed he was working for the big boss."

Gundren takes a deep breath, "The sister here told me that me brothers is missin' right now, haven't been seen in a long time... they was waiting at the Cave for me to bring the goods and I bet they had a tangle with this Black Spider person. I don't suppose that ye could do me one more favor and see if you can take back the Cave for me and find out what happened to me brothers?"

Gundren looks around for a moment, as if realizing something for the first time, "Where's Wish and Hollow? Thought they looked too tall and short... now I realize they aren't the same people. I'm Gundren Rockseeker, and you are?"
Nov 16, 2016 9:25 pm
"I am called Stormsong, and I am at your service, sir."

He gives the elder gentleman a sweeping bow, one he uses when showing off the lute and pipes hanging from his torso.
Nov 16, 2016 10:24 pm
Gimblyn, still entertained by their little jiggle, smiles wide for the recovering dwarf. "And, I... I am Gimblyn Tumtwig Figglebauter. I'm an expert of my craft and an expert of being a forest gnome, I swear." The small gnome looked at his large companion and mimicked the sweeping bow, lacking some finesse.

Kama briefly replies to Stormsong...
CancerMan sent a note to Cmbrian
...before returning his attention to Gundren. "Wish and Hollow were called away to other matters," explains the half-orc. "They helped rescue Sildar and cleared this town of the Redbrand threat, before me and Xora set off into the Wood to find you.

And I'll be happy to see what's up at the Cave and look for your brothers. I don't suppose you have a map of the mine itself?"
Nov 16, 2016 11:27 pm
"Nah, though I be wishin' I did! If I thought anything like this was gonna happen, I would've made one to be sure," Gundren says, "Ah well, I'm just glad that they were able to help with what they could and hope they're doing well now."
Nov 17, 2016 12:05 am
Gimblyn seems to react to Gundren's last sentence, a tear filling the bottom of his bug eyes. "Gundren, my new friend... I have the brutal truth of where Wish and Hollow are now..." he places a hand on his forehead, acting like the next sentence will be devastating. "I'm sorry to say, however... those two beautiful souls were chomped down by an unexpected Dragon assault." Tumtwig places a hand on Kama to catch his balance from the traumatic news. "I swear we did all we could, but they sacrificed their lives so we could escape." The forest gnome turned away to hide his sniffles.

Kama blinks, and looks decidedly confused. "What?"
Nov 17, 2016 12:11 am
Gundren is silent for a moment, "Huh?"

He turns to look at Kama for an explanation.
Nov 17, 2016 12:16 am
Kama looks to Gundren with the same expression. "Huh?"
Nov 17, 2016 3:15 am
Figglebauter realized his wild imagination took over and quickly ended his ramble. "They would have wanted us to finish helping you, no doubt. It's in my heart to push on to Wave Echo Cave.... In their memory, of course." He still remained turned the other way as his face was no longer kept straight.

Kama shrugs, quizzically, then says quietly to Gundren, "He did help save you. They both did." The dwarf can take that as he will.
Nov 17, 2016 7:00 pm
Stormsong stands tall and silent.

He knows when he is bested by a master of becoming the center of attention.
Nov 17, 2016 7:01 pm
Gundren continues to look confused, but takes it all in stride, "Well... thanks for helping me, the both of ye. But you said ye'd be willing to check out the cave for me?"
Nov 17, 2016 7:30 pm
"I don't want to speak for the others, but I will," nods Kama.
Nov 17, 2016 8:08 pm
"I'm game. What do you think we can expect, aside from your brothers and this black spider character? What's the story on this cave?"
Nov 17, 2016 8:09 pm
Gundren tells you the history of Wave Echo Cave:
Quote:
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.

A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
Nov 17, 2016 8:19 pm
Kama nods. "Stands to reason that this Black Spider either wants the cave, or is already there. Five hundred years is a long time for new occupants, too. Plus if the Forge is still intact, whoever's there might be well-equipped."
Nov 17, 2016 8:23 pm
"Can't really say what may be in there, 'specially since this Spider guy moved in," Gundren says grimly, "Only thing I can say is ye need to be careful."
Nov 17, 2016 8:33 pm
Stormsong rubs his chin and asks, "It certainly does sound dangerous -- a lot of long buried dead in that cave. So, will you be giving us the map, or will you escort us to the cave? Oh, and what will be our fee? Forgive me, but shares in a potential operation are great, but we gotta pay the bills..."
Nov 18, 2016 5:49 pm
Kama claps a hand onto Stormsong's shoulder. "I'll leave you two to your business dealings," he says, excusing himself. "Gundren, let me know when it's time to go. I've got to pay a visit to the orchard and see the Sister."
Nov 18, 2016 5:51 pm
"Well, I don't have much, but I could offer ye 50 pieces o' gold before ye head out. Might help you to get ready for the trip," Gundren says to Stormsong, nodding that he heard Kama.
Nov 18, 2016 6:14 pm
Kama will head to the orchard and inform Daran about Old Owl Well, returning to the temple to give Sister Garaele the answer to her question.
Nov 18, 2016 6:16 pm
Stormsong seeks to clarify, "Oh, I think we're ok for now. I was thinking that since you and your brothers are interested in setting up a mining operation, that we could lay claim to whatever we find during our clean up operation. Treasure, spoils, and whatnot. What do you think?"
Nov 18, 2016 6:23 pm
Gundren considers that for a moment before nodding, "Sounds fair, except in two cases. One, if something ye find is needed to run the mine. Two, if it is dwarven in origin."

As Kama heads to the orchard, he sees Daran outside, looking over the apples on his trees. He turns to see your approach, "Kama, my friend! I saw that you left for a while there, did you have a chance to check on the undead for me?"
Nov 18, 2016 6:29 pm
With a big smile, "Done! It's a pleasure to be working for you!"

To Xora and Gimblyn, "I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to clean up from the last trip before starting a new one. I'm going to head to the inn that we stayed at last time."
Nov 18, 2016 6:39 pm
At the orchard, Kama nods. "Certainly did! There was a necromancer digging through the ruins. The undead were his creations to keep people away. I don't quite understand what he was looking for, but he won't bother anyone anytime soon. So what's the story behind that place?"
Nov 18, 2016 6:47 pm
At the Orchard
"Really not sure, to be honest. It's been there as long as anyone can remember. Supposedly, it was built by a very powerful wizard, but I'm not sure if that's true. I do appreciate you clearing up that issue for me, though. Hopefully things didn't get too messy?"
Nov 18, 2016 6:49 pm
"Clean up?" I take a glance at my current condition. Nothing seems particularly unclean. I shrug. "We will speak again soon, friend." I nod towards Gundren as I follow Stormstrong out.
Nov 18, 2016 6:52 pm
Kama downplays the encounter with a shrug and a slant to his lips, arms open with palms facing up. "Eh. Sorry, though, we didn't really clean up afterward."
Nov 18, 2016 6:53 pm
"Not really talking about a mess... but from your words, it must have gotten violent? Were any of your hurt?"
Nov 18, 2016 6:56 pm
"Eh," Kama says again, but this time to wave away concern. "Minor stuff. We all made it back, even after we checked on those orcs in the hills, so nothing to worry about."
Nov 18, 2016 11:35 pm
Gimblyn was left awkwardly behind in the room with Gundren as he was lost in the thoughts of his oversized head. "Oh, um... Get better soon, friend. Keep your head up for dragons, they'll get ya!" the little gnome scurried off to catch up with his companions.
Nov 21, 2016 8:40 pm
At the Orchard
"Glad to hear it," Daran says, "If you need anything around here, just let me know and I'll see what I can do to help."
OOC:
What you gonna do now?
Nov 21, 2016 10:35 pm
"Actually," begins the half-orc, "what do you grow here?" Kama will buy six of whatever Daran's orchard provides: one for each party member, one for Gundren, and one for Sister Garaele. Kama then returns to the temple to deliver both fruit and Agatha's answer.
Nov 23, 2016 4:45 pm
Once Kama has finished checking off all the tasks the party set out to perform for the people of Phandalin, he purchases two more healing potions from Sister Garaele, then rejoins the group at the inn for rest. Otherwise, he is ready to set off for Wave Echo Cave when the party is.
Nov 23, 2016 6:01 pm
Gimblyn sat quietly with the group as he worked on his bow project.
Nov 23, 2016 6:59 pm
"Apples," Daran says to Kama's inquiry, "Go ahead and take some, it's mostly a hobby anyway."
Nov 23, 2016 7:02 pm
"Much obliged!" Kama says in appreciation. He takes his leave to finish his errands.
