Walking back, I gather control of my tears. Carrying Ana as we walk, I speak softly to her in her ear and rub her back, calming her down. Once we enter the orphanage, I put her down as Margharita rushes up and takes her, loving on her endlessly as she listens to what happened. Her MooMoo performs the protection spell on her and takes her to bond with her while you take the mage up to a tower. I, more harshly than I mean to, firmly instruct the aides to not let Ana get out of their sights while we're visiting. They all seem to understand that I'm currently a very scared mother and don't get upset with me. Even with the spell on her, I don't want her left alone again while we're in this town.
I proceed back to the room that we'd talked in earlier that day, where you find me, my face in my hands, crying. I look up when I realize someone's there and I say with an emotion filled voice, "I just need a moment, I'll be ready to leave for dinner soon, I promise. I know Ana must be starving! I'll be ready in a moment, I apologize." I try hard to regain control over the emotions I'm expressing, but I'm not doing a good job yet.
