I light my sword as an action in my sheath. I’ll first look for traps at the entrance. If it is clear, I’ll do as you suggest and hug the cave wall in front of you and attempt to grapple the first witch without the others noticing.

Perception of traps - (1D20+3)

(5) + 3 = 8

Dexterity check - (1D20+1)

(16) + 1 = 17

Your eyesight isn't as good in the cave, so you don't see the pressure plate you step on when you step around Kitty. Fortunately, you're quick enough to hear the whoosh of the dart and leaned back just in time to not get tranquilized. Your luck continues as the mage doesn't notice the slight shift in the wall to allow the dart to fly.

You quickly grab him and pull him around the corner with your hand over his mouth, holding him so he is unable to move.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+1)

(8) + 1 = 9

I beam in pride at you, relieved when I saw what happened. "Good job love!" I then proceed to wind my arm back and sock him in his temple, effectively knocking him out. "Okay, I'll try to hold the two, be prepared in case I'm unable, but the third one is all yours love."

With that, I peek my head around the corner and proceed to cast hold on the two mages conversing, seeing them become rigid as if they'd been grasped by a large hand.

While the second mage remained frozen, the other one didn't. Calling out to the attention of the one on the far side of the room, the two took aim at the one person they saw so far, nailing Kitty easily for half of her health, despite the fact that Duke jumps in front of her with his shield. They both smirked at her, thinking they had the upper hand by far as a two against one battle, until her Knight shows himself.

Having just shown myself to the mages by protecting you, I telepath to you, "Stay close to me, Kitty. They do not melee well and you need my auras to better protect yourself."

Your effort to protect me only blocks half of the darts. Your shove knocked the mage that shook Kitty's spell off to the ground, allowing your two slashes to effectively end his life.

"I never want to be far from you love," I respond as I orient myself again so that I'm behind you. Once I'm safer, I allow two blasts to head off in the direction of the mage on the other side of the room. I nail him, effectively pissing him off.

1d10+5 : (8) + 5 = 13

The mages are pissed for sure. The one on hold breaks free and casts mage armor on himself as the shiny Knight is right beside him. The mage I harmed makes eye contact with Kitty past you, flicking his wrist in the process. You prepare to take damage for her, but instead, you would have heard a blood-curdling scream from Kitty, had not been for your protective aura, she would've been unable to snap out of what she saw.

I turn on the mage beside me.having so recently moved to protect my wife from the far mage’s spell, I guess that threw me off enough that I missed my first attack but the second attack that I managed did slice deep past his magical armor and into the mage. The effort tries me and I am not able to shove as hard as I would have liked. Maybe still he is weaker so that You can have advantage on your attack?

"Good. I need the feel of you close to me, love."

The vision she sees for a moment is quickly alleviated. Giving her head a good shake, she realized quickly that someone had tried one of her own tricks on her. Angrily, she fires another blast out of each hand in the direction of the mage that tried to fool her into her worst fears. She was skilled enough at doing that herself, she didn't need him to make it feel real.

Rolls

Round Three:

Mages
Duke
Kit
Jan 12, 2021 5:36 am
The mage that is afar sees me as powerful and thinks I'm stronger, so he turns his attention onto the both of us instead. You see his wrist flick the same way it just had for me. Once again, as the same image appears, I’m quick to realize he’s tried again and am no prey to him. But you are.
OOC:
I'm so sorry ahead of time, I'm not sure why this kind of writing is so easy for me. Too many Dead by Daylight murder sprees possibly.
Your attempt to pretend that heights are your biggest fear doesn't fool the mage who is able to use magic to see that's not as true as you think. In front of you lies Kitty with your children: Ana beside her, Chip in on top of her, Tet on her other side, and your unborn child in her arms. Outside of the baby in Kit's arms, each one looks like they've been tossed into the spot there they lay. Their bodies are stained red with the blood of each other, their eyes open and showing the shock of being killed, their skin still a bit pink, showing they haven't been dead but a moment. The fear spell works it's magic on you effortlessly, casting the image of your family just having had their tilonis leave their bodies.

The mage beside us smirks as he watches the torment cross your face before looking at me. He goes to cast a spell on her, but Kit has snapped back into remembering her own abilities and instantly negates his magic at her.

Rolls

Your WIS Save - (1d20+3)

(12) + 3 = 15

My WIS Save - (1d20+9)

(13) + 9 = 22

OOC:
I get my aura of protection as well, so my save is at 18 instead of 15. Does that make a difference? I cannot be charmed because of my aura of devotion, but I can still be in fear. How does that work in this spell?

If the higher save doesn't matter, am I incapacitated? May I act? Do I still see the mages?

This gets complicated because of the fear spell that happens first, but I have a reaction on the mage's turn as a Mage Slayer to attack the close by mage for casting a spell. May I do a reaction? One more successful attack like this may kill it.

Do I get another save at the end of my turn?
Jan 12, 2021 8:14 pm
OOC:
The complexity of your character is making me die inside lol

Yes, it means the fear doesn't work on you either, so ignore the rest of the questions. You're not feared.
Jan 12, 2021 8:59 pm
As a reaction to the mage next to me casting a spell, my Mage Slayer feat kicks in and I take an opportunity attack. I hit him critically for 50 points in a single blow, rendering his spine in half and cleaving him crown to balls.

Rolls

sword with smite - (1d20+9, 1d8+4, 3d6)

1d20+9 : (20) + 9 = 29

1d8+4 : (8) + 4 = 12

On my own turn, I run to the far mage and attack him, super charged by success.

1d8+4 : (2) + 4 = 6

2d6 : (26) = 8

shove - (1d20+2)

(14) + 2 = 16

Jan 12, 2021 9:08 pm
I watch the strength of that attack, surprised that you did so much damage. "I'm sure he felt that in his death love," I comment as I cast hold person again on the mage that's been trying to scare us. Unfortunately, my spell is wasted as he shakes it off effortlessly.

Rolls

Round Four:

The mage, now fearing for himself, casts Mage Armor on himself trying to protect against the attack he knows is coming for him. The footsteps of the final mage can be heard around the corner, appearing just at the end of their turn.
Jan 12, 2021 9:13 pm
"Run to me love! And keep an eye out for the fifth!"

I want to react to his spell, but I cannot react again until my turn. It frustrates me.
