LyricTimeless says:
While breakfast is cooling, I run my fingers through the loamy jungle dirt and smell the sea breeze lift the palm fronds. I imagine Spirit running free on the beach and into the jungle. I can hear his hoofs on the ground that yields to his Fey nature. I stretch out my mind and search ... for a Coatl. "I need a feather from you great one."
OOC:
I cast both Find Steed and Locate
As your steed makes its magical appearance, you feel a desire to head in the direction of the Pyramid of the Gods once again. Something tells you that you will locate your object there.

Kilikina says:
Margharita put her hand up instead of taking it from you and says, "I have already inspected it while Anacaona went to awaken you both. There is no evil or malice in the toy. I would've spoken sooner otherwise my child. Come, I will join you for breakfast." Once everyone is seated with their bread, berries, and meat, she finally answers our question. "I know your father should be at his temple. Unlike my own adjustment to the changes in times, he remains stuck in the ways that are currently no more, believing Qotal has to still be here. If he is not there, his aide will know where to find him. Since all I know is what I've heard since the sundering, that is all I can share to help you, my son. I apologize if that isn't enough."
"Mom, you have done worlds for me. I have never expressed that enough. And you are right too. I should have known that you would have checked the magic items. I'm sorry. I have been nearing the whole of Maztica on my shoulders for so long, protecting Kitty and putting Ana up as its savior. I should have trusted you. I'm ... sorry Mom. I love you."

Turning to Kitty, "Kitty, we aren't going to Ulatos afterall now. We need to talk to the Guardian."

"You truly have been the best thing for my son Kitsune. Look at him, apologizing and putting his pride aside." Margharita looks at you and says, "It’s quite alright boy. You’re a father, I would expect you to be extra cautious even without the state of the world as a reason. Just remember, you might have a mighty burden on your shoulders, but you are not the only one who has it. You two depend and support each other. I love you too, my son."

She places her hand on Ana and mumbles for a moment. "Have one more day of protection from me. I pray for your swift return."

We say our goodbyes, much to Ana’s sadness. We should bring the children here more often. As we’re heading toward the town’s plaza, I ask, "You wish to change course? Is the guardian closer than Ulatos? How should we travel there?"
Feb 25, 2021 8:29 pm
"I've been foolish. We need the spell component for Father to cast the spell. So Pyramid of the Gods again. Shall we by land or by sea? either way, we need to go into the desert. Probably just take the ship back to the House of Tezca and then ride Spirit across the sands to the mountain valley where we fought Elena. We should be able to get through the enchantments of the Pyramid to see the Guardian, yes? Uhti hasn't done anything with him, has she?"
Feb 27, 2021 9:18 am
"Not that she’s informed me of my love. Our feathered serpent should be right where we left him. Let us sail to the desert then. Our crew will be closer to home and we can complete our journey on Spirit after that. We can send for Poca once we’re preparing for the ritual so that Ana can enjoy some time with her grandparents before we sail home. Does this seem like a good plan to you too? I’m personally quite excited about it."

OOC:
Just because I can try to pull at your heartstrings of course.
Walking in between us as we discuss things she’s not quite sure she understands, she eagerly carries her new toy. Carefree as always, she notices something walking through the plaza wearing a plain black robe, similar to the one the mage who snagged her bore. Suddenly, she makes you stop as she grabs you around your leg. With pleading eyes, she looks up to timidly ask, "Papa, you’re not going to let that robe man take me again, are you?"
Feb 27, 2021 4:28 pm
"Spirit! cover the other exit! Kitty, take Ana and ready your Hold spell dear." Duke jumps up at Ana's comment, shield down from his back and his hand resting on his magic sword's pommel, and walks up to the robed man to intercept him. "Morning sir. Are those mage robes?"
OOC:
I'm trying to explain to my kids how you are the DM taking me to the Pyramid of the Gods that our characters know about because we were there before, but you are also a player in my campaign where I am just now taking you to the PoG so you as a player don't know anything about the PoG. So who is to design the PoG first, lol. They are ROFL.

Izzy immediately told me that we are playing The Gods Must be Crazy scenario she read in the DM book, where the DM role is rotated amongst the same party members, lol!

As our trusty dog suddenly comes into existence and takes off in the direction that leads to the cave, I pick up Ana and allow her to hold my crystal, as I have done many times before, while murmuring comforting words to her. The man, a bit surprised to have been intercepted, stands at your height albeit smaller in frame and much older than yourself. "Huh?" he took in his own clothing before looking back at you. "Good morning to you Knight. Not at all, this old thing is just my cloak to protect against the weather. Looks like it might rain today."

He takes it off to show you. Your eyes glance up to see the darker clouds in the distance. Gazing back at the robe, you see a plain, long cloak. It's obviously worn and old. There are no symbols on it or signs of magic in the fabric. The man watches you with confused amusement, but his eyes drift to me as I walk up behind you, still holding Ana.
OOC:
Well, she's not fully wrong lmao! I have an idea of how the PotG will look like in my own vision, I'm not sure how it'll look in yours lol.

A bit more sheepish than before, I speak again. "Sorry sir for the abrupt meeting, but there have been rogue mages about recently and one can never be too careful near an orphanage, yes? I have sworn protection to Kiltzi's charges. What brings you to come out in the rain that comes?"

I try to check his veracity, while I also watch the perimeter of my defensive perimeter that I lay out from my military training.

His face fills with fatherly love and pride, an emotion you know well from your own experience with it, leading you to see how honest his words are. "Because I’m going to the orphanage. One of the caregivers is my daughter and she left today without her lunch sack." He gestures to the small sack he has tied to his left hip. He takes his cloak back and says, "I best get it to her before she becomes overwhelmed with the children. You three have a blessed day and praise the gods."

Your surroundings don’t alert you to anything that would raise suspicion. No new people appear, no creatures outside of a house cat under a tree, nothing noteworthy that you haven’t already noticed leaving the building.
Feb 28, 2021 12:14 am
"Good day to you sir." I let him go. Mom can deal with him if he is not honest. I turn to you and ask, "Do you think I over reacted? Come on Spirit. Here boy! Let's start walking back to the ship."
Feb 28, 2021 1:39 am
I take your hand as we start walking. "No love, I think considering the events of late, your response was more than logical. I just think that experience was traumatic for all three of us. We’ll get past it in no time, I have no fear about that." As we enter the plaza and start on our way past the stalls that lead to the docks, I paused and ask, "Is there anything you can think of, provisions or clothing, we need to grab before we leave?"
OOC:
Anything else you want to do in town before we set sail?
Feb 28, 2021 2:38 am
"Besides some more water skins and rations, we might need some mihrab wraps for the desert." I give you a kiss and smirk, "You would look good as a Bedouin hiding your beautiful hair from all other males. We can get what we need from the Skulker. Spirit in his warhorse form can provide sufficient transport."

With a kiss and an eye roll, I take your arm while carrying Ana and we grab our last minute things and set sail. With ease, we travel the canal back to the ocean. Once on the open sea, you’re at the wheel, allowing me to sneak in a much needed nap in our quarter’s while we sail. Ana is at the bow, staring out across the sea. Everything is and has been calm so far. Suddenly, she rushes over to you and while you expect she’s going to ask for another round of sword training, she instead has you look out of the port side of the ship. Out in the ocean appears to be a small rowing boat with a person in it, just sitting in the vast emptiness of the ocean.
Mar 1, 2021 4:20 am
"Poca! The long canoes! Go see what that man is about!" Duke turns the ship a bit port and orders the sails drawn to slow the ship. I yell a rope walker to get up in the crows nest and look to the sea for anything unusual.
Mar 1, 2021 4:26 am
The crew mate up in the looks out, but reports that he can’t make anything out with certainty. Poca climbed in a long boat and paddled out near the boat before turning and roaring rapidly back to the ship. From below, he exclaimed, "Sea lit up sounds row boat Captain. Water not quite clear, can’t see why."
OOC:
WOW! How that man saw the ladder to climb up there is shocking!

"Zaltec's damnation! There's magic afloat. For Qotal's sake, speak at least pirate there Poca. Is he human? Is he a victim of that light? Or a blasted mage?" I reach out my divine senses to determine Good and Evil. I also yell out, "Ahoy! Do you need succor, man?"
Mar 2, 2021 10:50 am
"Pologies Capt'n. He look to be green folk. Think he suffer something, he just mumble nonsense." As you look out after hearing Poca's response to the man, you sense no evil from him, however he continues to stare out in front of him as if in a trance. After a moment, Poca asks, "Want me go get him Capt'n?"
Mar 2, 2021 7:30 pm
I look out to the man and think. Unsuccessful at that, I turn to Poca, "Let Kitty sleep. Let's both go out in the long canoe to talk to him" As we go, I try to see what Poca was babbling about water and the light. I yell out to the man in Elvish, "Wake up Green Folk and tell your tale!"
