OOC:
if I’m reading book correctly, Sokolov is down to 2 HP (1d10 hit die, +2 modifier)
Sokolov, taking the hits, roars out with a bellow his anger and the pain, and brandishing his trident, jabs at the nearest kobold

Rolls

Attack - (1d20+1)

(10) + 1 = 11

Damage (to small or medium) - (1d6+1)

(1) + 1 = 2

Moloh, armed with her sickle, runs towards the Kobolds in the back line with slings. She slashes at them while letting out a grunt.

Attack - (1d20)

(17) = 17

Damage - (1d4+1)

(1) + 1 = 2

OOC:
You should have more than that for Sokolov being level 2. Also, everyone please make sure to list your levels, AC, and current/max health. I don't want to assume something and be wrong in my math.
Saer's attack goes wide, while Moloh dashes forwards and brings their sickle up and under their neck, slitting and dropping it. The other two slingers look astonished that someone would rush up like that.
Sokolov, looks down at the pair of little reptilian jerks that just bashed his legs. After bellowing a mighty roar, his trident glides through the top of one of their skills. It sinks to the ground with only a small, high-pitched yelp.
OOC:
The party is up again with initiative.
Party: 4
Kobolds: 6

Current amount of Kobolds: 5

4 is the faster number, I’m guessing!
Moloh flicks the sickle out to clear off some of the gore. It waters the field below her feet as she steps over the body of the kobold and swings out at another one in the back line!

Rolls

Attack - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Damage - (1d4+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

Snorting with satisfaction at the death dealt to the kobold attacker, Sokolov turns on the remaining kobold that rushed him. With a feral intensity in his glaring smile, he jabs out with his trident again

Rolls

Attack - (1d20+1)

(1) + 1 = 2

Damage - (1d6+1)

(5) + 1 = 6

Saer attempts to rush one the kobolds and swings as hard as he can.
OOC:
I went a head and rolled damage, but let me know if you have any preference for how to handle nat 20s

Wow, what luck. Saer's Nat 20 came late and when needed :p. Plus, a nat 1 was behind it.

I'll post an update tomorrow. I thought there was something for crits, but I guess not.

Moloh's attack on the rear Kobolds puts them on their toes. After the previous kill, the other two do their best to dodge the next attack.

Saer, tired already of being accosted by these little draconids, grasps their club in both hands and swings. It collides with the kobold on his right first, its head coming clean off. But with such momentum, the club, and head, continue their course and land on the next target: the other kobold! It looks utterly surprised by the chances before being flung to the side, dead.

Sokolov, after plucking his trident from the corpse of the kobold he just killed, brings it back up and tries to do away with the other one. Unfortunately, with the momentum he put behind his attack, he finds himself not only missing, he trips! He falls to the dirt road with a great thud and cloud of dirt. There is a silver lining, however, as he felt something go crunch beneath him - the other kobold attacking him not in sight.
The remaining two enemies, about to pair up on Moloh, take a look around and realize their situation. They were seven strong coming in, now reduced to just the duo.
The yap at each other briefly. Fear thoroughly in their eyes, they disengage! Fleeing into the tall grass, their forms quickly disappear. It seems they bit off more than they could chew.
OOC:
The party gains 35 exp. I'm just going to give whole XP rather than an even split, because pbp would take too long for that :p

Does anyone wish to loot?
Dec 22, 2020 4:32 am
OOC:
Saer has no desire to loot, but is interested in looking for clues as to what might have prodded the assault
"That was unexpected," Saer says to the others. "I've never been assaulted by kobolds like that on an open road. That bothers me significantly. Are you all well?"

While awaiting his answers, he bends down to inspect the bodies in search of something that might have motivated the assault. Signs of hungry, poverty, anything.
Dec 22, 2020 5:03 am
As Saer looks over the bodies, disregarding their weapons and few spoils, he finds a small medallion on each corpse.
OOC:
Saer can make a Wisdom check to determine what the medallions are.

Picking himself up from the ground, and the mess that was a kobold, Sokolov sheepishly looks around, hoping no one had noticed his fall. He brushes himself off, cleaning the tines on his trident of gore, watching Saer inspect the bodies
"There anything good? I reckon they must've been pretty desperate to attack like that "

Moloh takes her sickle and cleans it on the Kobold’s cloth. She mutters a few words over their corpses and lays them out in a more dignified fashion than how they fell in battle. "Silly creature." she says, as she closes the eyes of one of the Kobold’s, the eyes wide and alarmed as the life left its little body.

[ +- ] Loot for those wishing to take it
Dec 27, 2020 10:12 am
"Gems an’ coin is good. Let’s keep them. I don’t wan’ no kobolds club" Sokolov snorts in disgust at the thought.
Dec 28, 2020 4:18 am
Holding up the medallion, Saer asks the others, "Are any of you familiar with these? They appear to be affiliated with the demon lord Barrak, but finding them on kobolds feels a bit off, to me at least."
Dec 30, 2020 9:13 pm
Peering at the medallion through his bulging bull eyes, Sokolov shakes his head, no recollection of seeing anything like it before

After clearing the road of the kobold cadavers, Sokolov, Saer, and Moloh continue on their way to Winterhaven to possibly report the attack and get directions towards the tower they were paid to map.

Upon reaching the gates, Moloh is approached by a courier. After exchanging the letter, they are a bit disturbed. They bid farewell to Saer and Sokolov and take back down the road on some mysterious journey.

The pair, now a person shorter, enter the wooden gates of Winterhaven. The place seems rather simple as it was once just a fort, now turned into a town. The settlement is run by Lord Padreig from his manor tucked into the center.
Thinking it best to find a place to rest from their trek and fill up on food and drink, the pair find their way to a tavern called Mera's Hearth.
Inside Mera's Hearth, two others are currently dining for the afternoon: a half-elf and a dwarf. The two had been traveling together for some time, more for peace of mind while on the road.
