The balcony isn't very high. A full move with an Acrobatics or Athletics test (D1) will get you up to their level.

There is no obvious cover, other than running away from them, or pressing up against the wall underneath their low balcony, but if they leaned over they could plug you.
You can reach them with your whip from below, so you could move and attack in the same round.

The attack spreads doubt and panic, inflicting mental damage as well as physical damage. The attack inflicts X mental damage to the target for each Effect rolled, in addition to whatever physical damage was inflicted.

The others clamber up slowly ready to intercede next round but cautious of getting in your way.

"Crom, damn it!", Jarik bawls as his attempt to reach the attackers ends up with him clasping dirt from the floor. The Hyperborean lifts himself, and sword still in hand, he leaps once more to mount the balcony.

Jarik climbs up to the balcony, but not very quickly. He'll be able to attack normally next round.
